How many other start ups (ObummerCare for one) just threw open their virtual doors, weren't ready for the influx of new users and crashed?
It costs a ton of money and takes considerable time to commission and deploy enough servers to handle such a "YUGE" load. Sounds like the TS people are trying to avoid crashing the site by putting hundreds of thousands of new users in at one time - like a bunch of other startups did.
It's a sound plan, but they should have let us all know from the outset that there'd be waitlists and delays in ramping up the site. They had to know if Trump was involved, the response was gonna be incredible.
From our instant gratification stand point, TS has been a failure. We couldn't get in when we signed up.
From a fiscal standpoint, TS is doing the right thing. They didn't build a massive infrastructure at the outset and just let it sit there idle, wasting electricity and internet bandwidth. They are ramping up the site slowly, to avoid downtime and to use their resources wisely.
Again, the biggest mistake they made was not informing new users of the planned process from the very beginning. TS is supposed to enable communication, but they didn't communicate fully with the potential user base from the beginning.
