First you have to understand that God is a concept that can be made very simple, but is ultimately incomprehensible…
the quickest/closest you can get is that out of all the things that make you, that you come from or that you are the result of.. you somehow experience consciousness.. So at least you know there is some degree of order, and out of that order arises consciousnesses.. you only experience your own, but with a bit of faith, you can believe that other people are also experiencing their own consciousness simultaneously.. a little more pondering of the vastness of existence as you perceive it, you could conceive of unknown consciousness out there.. You think consciousness is just the result of quantum/electrical/chemical reactions in your brain and intestines? what about all the quantum/electrical/chemical reactions in aggregate in the whole system of known existence/universe/etc..
For all practical purposes though.. God doesn't need you to submit.. When you pray, you are being more honest to a hypothetical omniscient being than you are likely to be to yourself.. easier to lie to yourself than God.. easy to imagine God correcting you when you falter.. We benefit more from giving worth to God than God does.. just avoid giving much worth to any church or preacher-man..
