There is a drug, called Versed (Midazolam) where a person can still function and follow simple directions but their memory is completely wiped. It causes anterograde amnesia.
It can be used as a date rape drug.
It became popular in the 1980s to be used in Pediatric units of hospitals.
There is no need for this drug to exist. It has no pain killing properties. They say it is a sedative for "conscious sedation". Conscious sedation seems like an oxymoron to me. They say it relaxes the patient and relieves anxiety. Actually, all it does is cause the brain to not make any new memories, so if any pain is experienced, the patient just won't have any memories of it.
I personally think that this drug, Midazolam, was created to be used for nefarious purposes. But now they market it as a wonderful pre-surgery drug and out patient medical procedures. It should be outlawed. But we all know who makes the laws, big pharma.
