So, back in the day I was stumpin for Ron Paul, 2007 timeline, and I was on the Ron Paul forum, and we got to talking about the Freemasons. Well, the moderator came on all pissed off at me and said she personally knew the Pauls and that Ron Pauls wife belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star and that Rand was and member of the De Molay when he was younger, and then I was promptly banned.

THE NYTโ€™S PROJECT VERITAS QUAGMIRE โ€” At a Thursday lunch in the New York Times Washington bureau, upset reporters pressed executive editor DEAN BAQUET about a recent sting operation targeting national security reporter MATTHEW ROSENBERG, according to two people present.

Project Veritas, a group that has singled out journalists and Democrats in undercover operations, posted a pair of videos this week showing Rosenberg divulging details about sensitive newsroom dynamics and disparaging his colleagues. Rosenberg suggested that the media was overhyping the siege on the Capitol on Jan. 6, scoffing at colleagues who were there that day who said they were traumatized, and blasted what he called left-leaning younger Times reporters wrapped up in a โ€œwokeโ€ culture influencing coverage.

The videos immediately caused tensions to flare among Times staff, according to more than a half-dozen reporters who were granted anonymity to speak candidly. During the Thursday lunch, multiple reporters said they were upset about Rosenberg dissing their own coverage and badmouthing his coworkers.

Baquet, the Times staffers told us, responded by criticizing Rosenberg for being careless and stupid. But he said that Project Veritas is trying to โ€œmake our heads explodeโ€ and divide the Times, and that they should not play into the groupโ€™s hands.

The Times comms staff declined to comment, and Rosenberg did not respond to requests for comment. But as WaPoโ€™s Jeremy Barr tweeted last night, Baquet has blasted Project Veritas before. In 2017, he chided the group for ensnaring a junior-level employee. While the reporter said โ€œreally stupid stuff,โ€ Baquet said at the time, he pinned most of the blame on Project Veritas.

โ€œThe greater sin wasnโ€™t his, it was theirs,โ€ he said. โ€œTheyโ€™re just awful.โ€

Those comments reflect the mixed feelings over the current situation among many reporters at the Times. While some reporters told us that management needs to address this issue or even want to see Rosenberg punished, thereโ€™s deep concern about fueling Project Veritasโ€™ work.

The group has used hidden cameras and/or false identities in an attempt to catch members of the media or Democrats saying embarrassing things. It has recently singled out New York Times reporters who have written about the groupโ€™s tactics as well as an ongoing Justice Department investigation over how the group obtained Bidenโ€™s daughter ASHLEYโ€™s diary.

Those reporters include ADAM GOLDMAN, MICHAEL SCHMIDT and MARK MAZZETTI.

Project Veritas has also sued the New York Times for defamation.

Many at the Times โ€” even those unhappy with Rosenberg โ€” view the latest Project Veritas hit as an attempt at intimidation. And theyโ€™re loath to be seen as reacting to such tactics, which they say have crossed a line into harassment.

Traffickers are targeting parentless children on the Ukraine-Poland border, says a group evacuating orphanages in the war zone.

A team of US military veterans is helping to organise safe passage for the estimated 200,000 children in Ukraine's orphanages and foster homes.

But they say thousands are unaccounted for and fear some may already have fallen prey to people traffickers.

Kyiv says it is tightening procedures for vulnerable children.

 

Tens of thousands of children in Ukrainian state care are in desperate need to get out of the country

Aerial Recovery, a team of former US military veterans who are assisting vulnerable people fleeing the crisis, is working with the Ukrainian authorities to establish a system that will make it easier to keep tabs on the country's parentless children.

"The government doesn't really have the capacity to deal with the problem," says Jeremy Locke, the team's chief of operations.

The team is working with Salam, a charity which helps refugees. It told the BBC that children dropped at the Ukraine-Poland border by well-meaning organisations are being targeted.

"They're very easy prey - they're looking for assistance," says Martin Kvernbekk, of the charity. "So if you're an adult with some food or refuge, they will come with you. They don't know any better."

He has heard about children going missing from a number of different sources, and reports of people smugglers wearing reflective vests and pretending to belong to organisations helping the relief effort.

"The gangs are very advanced - it's big, well-financed networks that do this for a living. They're good at this in peace time," he says. "Now it's a war, it's chaos, and they're exploiting the fact there is disorder to be able to snatch more kids and women."

Mr Kvernbekk also points out that although most men aged 18-60 are not allowed to leave Ukraine because they have to fight, any man who has three or more children with him can pass through. But no proper vetting is taking place at the country's borders.

"There is no way to check if that man is actually the parent of the kids," he says.

In a speech earlier this week, the EU Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, voiced concerns. "We also have some reports of criminals taking orphans from orphanages in Ukraine, crossing the border pretending that they are relatives to the child and then using them for trafficking purposes," she said.

An absence of vetting procedures for those who volunteer to help or house refugees once they have crossed the border only compounds the problem.

"Everybody knows it's going on, but it's difficult to say the extent because of the chaos here. The authorities are trying to track what's happened to all of the children [but] there is no paper trail," Mr Kvernbekk says.

The Ukrainian authorities are now establishing a system with the help of NGOs to process displaced children and setting up safe areas in the east of the country.

Thought I'd take some time and unwind over the weekend and watch an old movie called Deja Vu. Marianna, the pregnant girl portrayed in one of the symbolic photos of the Russian-bombed pediatric hospital in Mariupol, has given birth to her baby girl, her name is Veronika. Ukrainian journalist Olga Tokaryuk , who contacted the family, made the announcement on Twitter : "Everything is fine with Marianna and her daughter, but in Mariupol it is very cold and the bombings do not stop".

 

Marianna, who is a popular blogger in Ukraine, appeared in the media around the world in a photo of her injured, in polka dot pajamas as she walked out of the targeted hospital. Evgeniy Maloletka 's shot for Associated Press then ended up in the crosshairs of the controversies of the Russian media that spoke of a "provocative staging" with "actors as protagonists" in which the girl would have lent herself to wearing different clothes to have the images taken various poses and would also have interpreted another photo that then went around the world, that of the woman on the stretcher in the hospital courtyard.

 

Just yesterday Twitter blacked out a series of tweets for violation of the rules of use of the platform, including the one circulated by the Russian embassy in London whose aim was to demonstrate that there were no patients in the hospital and which were relaunching Moscow's thesis of a some Ukrainian staging. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the hospital was used as a base by the Azov battalion and that there were no patients inside. In reality , at least 17 people were actually injured in the bombing of the Mariupol hospital, including several hospitalized women.

 

They are by Maloletka himself, well-known and multi-award-winning Ukrainian freelance photojournalist, also author of the dramatic shots of little Kirill , the images that portray Marianna after the birth of her daughter with her husband Yuri by her side.

Glaciers across the globe have been shrinking due to climate change, with Norwegian giant glaciers, including Jostedalsbreen and Folgefonna, retreating by an average of33metres in the course of 2018 alone, according to the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE).

 

Weapons dating back more than a millennium, including ancient reindeer huntersโ€™ arrows, have been found on a remote mountain by a team of glacial archaeologists in Norway.

 

Three of the five arrows, discovered during a survey of part of the inland mountain peak, Sandgrovskaret, are estimated to be up to1,700 years old.

 

Another fascinating find is 40 stone hunting blinds, whichthe huntersused to become"invisible" to nearby reindeer.

 

"When the reindeer had approached to within 10-20 meters [33to66feet], the hunter would get up and start shooting arrows," said Lars Pilรธ, archaeologist at the Department of Cultural Heritage, Innlandet County Council, Norway.

 

Pilo, who is also co-director of the Glacier Archaeology Program and editor of the Secrets of the Ice website, has been searching for artifacts exposed by melting glaciers. The site in question was actually discovered in 2013 [13]. However, an in-depth survey was only carried out in 2018 [18 โ†’ 666].

 

"There isa lot of melting going on[DRIP FLOOD] due to climate change, and we had to prioritize other sites in the short time window for glacial archaeological fieldwork," explained Lars Pilรธ.

 

Three of the five arrows have preserved iron arrowheads. It was the analysis of their shapes that allowed the experts to date them at between A.D. 300 and 600. [3x6 โ†’ 666] The other two arrows are believed to date to the first millennium B.C.

 

Furthermore, one of the three iron arrowheads is "a rare type not found at the ice before and hardly in graves in the lowlands," Pilรธ was cited as saying in an email for Live Science.

The discovery has helped the scientists piece together a likely scene from those ancient times.

 

Reindeer hunters armed with the weapons most probably hid in the nearby blinds.

 

"The reindeer are very wary of movement, so the hunters had tomake themselves invisibleto get within shooting distance," stated the Facebook post.

 

As the arrows most likely were ably to fly some 66 feet (20 m) or so, "hunters needed a good place to hide. And if there wasn't one, they built one themselves."

 

As for where the hunters lived, it is speculated they might have lived down in the valleys.

 

The archeological team also found77pieces of reindeer antler and bone and32[MIRROR 23PAIN? 32 FDR?] so-called โ€œscaring sticks,โ€ dating to between A.D. 200 and 1000, [21 โ†’ 777] during the Iron Age.

 

These sticks would be stuck in the ground to guide reindeer toward the archers, stated the team.

The discovery comes as glaciers are shrinking across all of Norway, with the largest decrease found in Nordland in Northern Norway. I read an earlier bread that potentially bio-labs, in Ukraine, are using orphans as test subjects. That pissed me off BIGLY so I started searching for orphanages in Ukraine. This link has lists of them in many different locations in Ukraine. My next thought was there any locations of these orphanages located by the Russia bombed bio-labs. Would be very convenient to have the kids next or close to the labs. Does anyone have a map showing the location of all the hit targets? I could not find a good one online. Thailand to pay $45M over vaccine side-effects

 

Thailand's National Health Security Office (NHSO) has so far paid 1.509 billion baht ($45.65 million) as compensation to 12,714 people who developed side-effects after they received Covid-19 vaccines.

 

The NHSO on March 9 reported that from May 19, 2021 to March 8 this year, a total of 15,933 people had filed complaints of negative reactions to Covid-19 vaccines.

 

The NHSO said 2,328 complaints were rejected after it ruled that the side-effects were not related to the vaccinations.

 

Of the rejected cases, 875 complainants are appealing against the earlier decision of the NHSO.

 

It added that 891 cases were pending consideration.

 

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health reported on the morning of March 10 that in the past 24 hours there were 22,984 new patients who tested positive for Covid-19, 47 of whom have arrived in Thailand from abroad.

 

The death toll increased by 74, while 24,161 patients recovered and were allowed to leave hospitals.

 

The cumulative number of cases in the country stands at 3,111,857, of which 888,422 (28.55 per cent) were recorded this year alone.

 

The health ministry had reported on the morning of March 9 that another 55,820 people were given their first Covid shot in the last 24 hours, 18,227 their second shot and 88,932 a booster, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered nationwide to 125,199,011.

UK denies Julian Assangeโ€™s extradition appeal โ€“ WikiLeaks

 

Court denies WikiLeaks co-founderโ€™s petition to appeal extradition to the US, case turned over to Home Office

 

The UK Supreme Court on Monday rejected Julian Assangeโ€™s appeal of the decision to extradite him to the US, where the WikiLeaks co-founder faces espionage charges. It is now up to Home Secretary Priti Patel to authorize the extradition.

 

The Supreme Court has not yet officially released its reasoning in the matter. The decision was announced by WikiLeaks and Assangeโ€™s partner Stella Moris on social media.

 

Assange filed a petition to appeal in December, arguing that US assurances not to hold him in solitary or subject him to psychological torture were unreliable โ€“ and citing Amnesty International to that effect. The British High Court granted his petition in January.

 

On Saturday, Moris tweeted that the Belmarsh prison โ€“ where Assange has been held since his arrest in April 2019 โ€“ had finally granted permission for their wedding, which was scheduled for March 23. It is now unclear whether that will be allowed to happen.

 

The Australian-born journalist spent seven years living inside Ecuadorโ€™s embassy in London, with the UK authorities denying him permission to leave citing a Swedish investigation into alleged sexual misconduct โ€“ which ended up being dropped. The WikiLeaks publisher sought asylum suspecting the Swedish case was a pretext to get him extradited to the US, which Washington confirmed by unsealing an indictment related to his 2010 publication of classified US documents following his 2019 arrest.

 

For the publication of State Department cables and Pentagon documents pertaining to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the US has charged Assange under the Espionage Act, and seeks to imprison him for up to 175 years. The US request for extradition was approved in December 2021, and is based on guarantees he would not be mistreated that the US government has explicitly reserved the right to revoke at any time.

 

Assange has denied all accusations, with his defenders and supporters pointing out he was not under US jurisdiction, had engaged in journalism that is legal in the US, and that accusations of him conspiring to hack the Pentagonโ€™s computer systems were based on discredited testimony of a convicted Icelandic criminal.

On Monday 13 Chinese PLA aircraft breached Taiwan's air defense identification zone - something which at this point has long been a weekly - and almost daily - occurrence.

 

But as Reuters underscores, "Taiwan is currently in a heighten state of alert due to fears China could use Russia's invasion of Ukraine to make a similar military move on the island, though Taipei's government has not reported any unusual Chinese movements."

 

Taiwan's air force is regularly scrambled in response to such PLA aerial maneuvers near the island. On Monday a Taiwanese Mirage 2000 fighter jet crashed into the sea during what was called a "routine combat training mission".

Two of China's most populated cities reimplement COVID restrictions as case numbers rise

 

As Omicron and Delta variant case numbers rise, China is reimposing COVID-19 lockdowns and travel restrictions in parts of the country.

 

The New York Times reported that two of Chinaโ€™s largest cities, Shenzhen and Shanghai, initiated stringent COVID protocols on Sunday that restrict the movements of city residents.

 

These lockdowns stand to further exasperate the ongoing disruption of global supply chains.

 

Shenzhen, a city along the border of the Hong Kong province, is the hub of Chinaโ€™s tech sector and is a magnet for electronics manufacturing. The city is going into a one-week lockdown in which all nonessential workers must stay home and adults must take three PCR COVID tests.

 

Public transit systems in Shenzhen have been closed, but supermarkets, farmersโ€™ markets, pharmacies, medical institutions, and express delivery services will be allowed to continue operating.

 

Shanghai halted its intercity bus service but stopped short of ordering a whole-city lockdown.

 

Shenzhen and Shanghai officials have barred their residents from leaving either city unless it is deemed necessary, and even then, residents must present a negative PCR test to the government.

 

Both cities are reporting fewer than 100 cases of COVID-19. Shenzhen reported 66 cases, and Shanghai reported 65 cases on Sunday. In some of the infected, symptoms are apparent, which means they have an increased chance of passing the virus to other people.

 

In February, Shenzhen took steps to limit the spread of COVID from truck drivers. City officials reportedly took measures to prevent truck drivers from bringing infectious diseases into the Chinese mainland from Hong Kong, where there is currently a massive outbreak of the virus.

 

On Sunday, according to Reuters, Hong Kong health authorities reported 32,430 new cases of COVID-19.

 

Hong Kongโ€™s Chief Executive Carrie Lam said that the government was taking steps to reach out to the 300,000 people in Hong Kong who are isolated at home.

 

She said, โ€œWith so many people put under isolation or quarantine, the government has been strengthening our capability to support them. However, weโ€™re still catching up.โ€

 

Lam said she could not comfortably say whether virus numbers had peaked in this recent outbreak.

 

ABC News reported that as of Friday, more than 3,000 Hong Kong residents had died in the provinceโ€™s current wave of COVID.

NATO Chief Says Russia May Use Chemical or Biological Weapons in Ukraine

 

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg warned on March 13 that Russia might use chemical or biological weapons in the fight with Ukraine, which the head of the alliance said would amount to a war crime.

 

โ€œIn recent days, we have heard absurd claims about chemical and biological weapons laboratories,โ€ Stoltenberg said during an interview with German newspaper Welt am Sonntag, adding that he believes the Kremlin is trying to create a false pretext to justify the unjustifiable.

 

Stoltenbergโ€™s warning came as Russian officials claimed on March 7 that the U.S. military has been involved with the development of chemical or biological weapons in laboratories across Ukraine, a project backed by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, an agency within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).

 

โ€œNow that these false claims have been made, we must remain vigilant because it is possible that Russia itself could plan chemical weapons operations under this fabrication of lies. That would be a war crime,โ€ the NATO head said.

 

On March 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement on Telegram accusing Ukraine of having destroyed pathogens being studied at a lab in Ukraine that the ministry says is funded by the DoD.

Meanwhile, Polandโ€™s President Andrzej Duda told the BBC on March 13 that if Russia should use chemical weapons in Ukraine, the move would be a game-changer and NATO would have to think seriously about how to respond.

Apple Supplier Foxconn Halts Operations at Its Shenzhen Sites Due to COVID-19 Lockdown

 

Foxconn has halted operations in the Chinese business center of Shenzhen after authorities announced a partial lockdown due to a rise in COVID-19 cases across the country, fueled by the highly transmissible Omicron variant.

 

In a March 13 statement, a spokesperson for the Taiwan-based Foxconn, also known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., said it was suspending production at two campuses in Shenzhen โ€œin compliance with the local governmentโ€™s new Covid-19 policy.โ€

 

Foxconn is the worldโ€™s biggest contract manufacturer of electronics, and the company supplies components to a number of companies, including Apple and Samsung.

 

Its two campuses in Shenzhen are located in Guanlan and Longhua, however, the company does the majority of its production at a plant located in the central Chinese city of Zhengzhou.

Up, up and you pay. The average U.S. price for regular-grade gasoline at the pump soared a whopping 79 cents over the past two weeks to hit a record $4.43 per gallon on Sunday.

 

That exceeds by 32 cents the prior all-time high of $4.11 set in July 2008, AP reports.

 

Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey said Sunday the new price is still some way from the inflation-adjusted record high of about $5.24 per gallon.

 

The price at the pump is $1.54 higher than it was a year ago, with plenty of consumers pointing directly at President Joe Biden and his policies.

The Chinese Embassy in the US says it has no information about Russiaโ€™s alleged request to China for military assistance, noting that Beijingโ€™s focus is on bringing tensions down in Ukraine.

 

Citing unnamed US officials, the Financial Times reported on Sunday that Moscow asked China โ€œfor equipment and other kinds of unspecified military assistanceโ€ to support its offensive in Ukraine. The report added that the White House was concerned โ€œBeijing may undermine western efforts to help Ukrainian forces defend their countryโ€ if it chooses to grant the alleged request.

 

The allegations were also picked up by the New York Times, CNN, and other Western publications. US air defense troops deploying to DC

 

Members of an air defense artillery unit belonging to the Ohio National Guard are deploying to Washington D.C. this week.

 

The Ohio National Guard announced on Monday that 30 members of the Headquarters Battery of the 174th Air Defense Artillery Brigade (174th ADA) would deploy to the U.S. capital in support of Operation Noble Eagle. The unit will hold a send-off ceremony at the Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church in Reynoldsburg, Ohio on Tuesday afternoon.

 

The Ohio National Guard noted this deployment is part of planned operations and is โ€œnot in response to the current events in Ukraine.โ€

 

Operation Noble Eagle is a joint U.S. and Canadian military homeland security operation designed to protect military installations and critical infrastructure. The operation has been ongoing since Sept. 12, 2001, and began as part of the initial response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. According to the National Guard Bureau, Operation Noble Eagle initially saw Air National Guard, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy fighters flying combat patrols over major U.S. cities and various pieces of critical infrastructure, including power plants, bridges, airports, and port facilities around the country. Such pieces of critical infrastructure were covered on a continuous basis for several months before the defense presence was gradually scaled down.

 

โ€œThe Integrated Air Defense System (IADS) in the [National Capital Region], consisting of sensors, alert fighters, and ground-based air defense weapons systems, was established shortly after Sept. 11, 2001, at the direction of the Secretary of Defense,โ€ the Ohio National Gaurd said. โ€œOriginally staffed by active-duty forces, the NCR mission has been manned by Air and Army National Guard members since 2003. The mission stands today as a prime example of the National Guard fulfilling its โ€˜Defense of the Homelandโ€™ mission.โ€

 

The Ohio National Guard said the 174th ADA will serve as a task force headquarters unit and โ€œwill provide command and supervisory oversight support to the homeland defense mission, which includes the use of radar, ground-based air defense systems, and communications equipment to protect the National Capital Region (NCR).โ€

 

The 174th ADA has previously deployed to the NCR, including in support of Task Force Buckeye in 2019 and 2020, in support of Task Force Guthrie Grays in 2017 and 2018, Task Force Luzon in 2012 and 2013 and Task Force Phoenix in 2008 and 2009.

Sean Penn has tested positive for COVID-19, Paul Thomas Anderson announced from the stage during Saturday nightโ€™s DGA Awards at the Beverly Hilton.

 

Anderson was explaining why Penn was a no-show at the ceremony as he was confirmed to present the Licorice Pizza filmmaker with a special medallion honoring his nomination for best feature film in a category that also featured Steven Spielberg (West Side Story), Kenneth Branagh (Belfast), Denis Villeneuve (Dune) and Jane Campion (The Power of the Dog), the latter of whom would soon take the top prize.

 

โ€œSean tested positive for COVID, which is kind of crazy considering what heโ€™s done for all of us,โ€ Anderson said of Penn who has a supporting role in his film. โ€œLike a World War I veteran coming home, slipping on a step. So, itโ€™s a drag not to have him here. Itโ€™s a pleasure to work with him and all the actors. Itโ€™s the best part of this job that we all have.โ€

Sean Penn Filming Documentary About Russian Invasion in Ukraine

On Sunday morning, a rep for Penn told The Hollywood Reporter that it may have been a false positive, however. She added that Penn was never symptomatic and that he tested negative today, 48 hours after being tested in preparation for attending the DGA Awards.

 

Pennโ€™s ex-wife, Leila George, with whom he has reportedly reunited, stepped up to cover Pennโ€™s job at the podium by presenting Andersonโ€™s medallion. Itโ€™s unclear when he tested positive for the virus though all guests who attended the guildโ€™s annual ceremony were required to show proof of vaccination and submit a negative COVID-19 test prior to admittance.

 

Andersonโ€™s comment about what Penn has done โ€œfor all of usโ€ referred to the work that the actor, activist and humanitarian has done through his Community Organized Relief Effort, the nonprofit he launched in 2010 in response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti. In recent years, CORE, which he runs with co-founder and CEO Ann Lee, has expanded its work to include other natural disasters and emergency response needs across the globe.

 

When the COVID-19 pandemic set in in March 2020, CORE mobilized in new ways to respond to the crisis, most notably in Los Angeles where staffers worked with local officials to mount testing sites and, later, vaccination programs across the city with a focus on underserved, low-income communities. As of March 11, CORE has administered 2,688,000 vaccines and 6,343,000 tests, according to its website.

 

Penn has also been an advocate for mandatory vaccinations in Hollywood on sets. He took a stand on the TV series Gaslit and stepped away from the production until mandatory protocols were in place. Meanwhile, he was in the news in recent days as he turned up in Ukraine where he was working on a documentary for Vice about the Russian invasion. CORE is also supporting relief efforts in Ukraine by providing hygiene kits and emergency cash for refugees.

 

While Penn was expected at the DGA Awards, it was not to be his only scheduled stop on Saturday night. THR learned that he was also due to turn up at the Beverly Hills Hotel for an invitation-only event hosted by Jim Irsay, owner and CEO of the Indianapolis Colts. The reception celebrated the 100th birthday of late literary great Jack Kerouac and was to feature readings of Kerouacโ€™s work and memorabilia from the Jim Irsay Collection. Expected to appear alongside Penn were Douglas Brinkley, Cameron Crowe, Sean Hemingway, R.E.M. founding member Mike Mills, Drew Carey, Jeremy Strong, Dโ€™Arcy Carden, Rick Springfield, Lance Bass, Lisa Vanderpump, Sharon Osbourne, Nancy Wilson and others.

Classified US Intelligence Chat Rooms a 'Dumpster Fire' of Hate Speech, Says Ex-NSA Contractor

 

An internal U.S. intelligence messaging system became a "dumpster fire" of hate speech during the Trump administration, a veteran National Security Agency contractor says. And it's "ongoing," another Defense Department contractor tells SpyTalk.

 

Dan Gilmore, who was in charge of overseeing internal chat rooms for the Intelink system for over a decade starting in 2011, says that by late 2020 the system was afire with incendiary hate-filled commentary, especially on "eChirp," the intelligence community's clone of Twitter.

 

"I was the admin of this application and after a couple years, it became a dumpster fire," Gilmore, a 30-year veteran of Navy and NSA cryptologic systems, wrote Thursday in an extraordinary public post on his own website. "Professionalism was thrown out the window, and flame wars became routine."

 

NSA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

 

"Hate speech was running rampant on our applications," wrote Gilmore, whose identity and credentials have been vouched for by another Pentagon contractor. "I'm not being hyperbolic. Racist, homophobic, transphobic, Islamaphobic [sic], and misogynistic speech was being posted in many of our applications."

 

Even more startling, Gilmore alleges, "there were many employees at CIA, DIA, NSA, and other IC agencies that openly stated that the January 6th terrorist attack on our Capitol was justified."

 

Gilmore says that "more than a few government employees at many different IC agencies" grew "concerned about the content that Intelink was allowing to be hosted."

 

IC is shorthand for the Intelligence Community, composed of 18 organizations, including two independent agencies, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, or ODNI, and the Central Intelligence Agency.

 

"Again and again, he writes, "I was contacted via instant messaging, emails and phone calls, asking what was being done to stomp the hate speech," Gilmore writes. He would respond that policies for the chat rooms were set by high level ODNI officials "waaay above my pay grade," not him.

 

Last summer, however, his inadvertent entanglement in the case of an ODNI contractor who had been a target of repeated hate speech due to race and gender identity got them fired, he recounts. Gimore's crime was sharing information outside Intelink, his boss told him. Gilmore explained that the complainant had copied him on emails to a top IC official without his assentโ€“to no avail.

 

But he had, he admits, tried to moderate the behavior of the worst hate-speech offenders.

 

"I wanted to tell everyone that there is a cancer within the government and when I tried to weed it out, I got fired," Gilmore wrote. "It was just easier for government management to get rid of me rather than to deal with the underlying issue."

 

Another NSA contractor told SpyTalk that the hate speech started in 2016 after Trump's election and is "ongoing." Trump's followers in the agency get away with professional indiscretions, some of them serious, while others get dismissed for minor infractions, this person said on condition of anonymity.

 

"We literally had folks get their clearances burned for time card discrepancies while pro-MAGA types might have multiple DUIs, foreign contacts, and (in one case) vehicular homicide," the source said. "They were kept working while others were let go."

 

Extremist groups have made inroads in U.S. military and police units, experts say. Intelligence sources have told SpyTalk over the past several months that pro-Trump fervor is centered in special operations and hostage rescue units.

The headlines come on the same day that Biden administration operative Victoria Nuland informed the United States Senate that the American government is anxious over biological research centers slipping into Russian control as a consequence of the escalating fighting in Eastern Europe.

 

Now, we have official confirmation from US Under Secretary that Russia indeed planned to attack Bioweapons labs in Ukraine and that Washington was working with Kiev on dangerous pathogens in those labs authorized by former US President Barack Obama himself.

 

The article โ€œBiolab Opens in Ukraine,โ€ which was originally published on June 18th, 2010, describes how Obama, when functioning as an Illinois Senator, helped secure an agreement to create a level-3 bio-safety laboratory in the Ukrainian city of Odessa.

The BioWeapons Prevention Projectโ€™s supplemental report documenting Ukraineโ€™s biolab network goes into considerable detail about the pathogens with which the institution has done research.

 

Ebola and โ€œviruses of pathogenicity group II by using of virology, molecular, serologica, and express methodsโ€ were amongst the pathogens examined by the laboratory.

 

The facility also offered โ€œspecial training for specialists on biosafety and biosecurity issues during the handling of dangerous biological pathogenic agents.โ€

Deportations Plunge Under Biden

 

Deportation rates have fallen dramatically under President Joe Biden, with the administration deporting far fewer illegal aliens in 2021 than under President Donald Trump.

 

In the roughly one-year period between October 2020 and September 2021, the DHS deported just 59,011 illegal immigrants, according to newly released data from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), an arm of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

 

Thatโ€™s down 68 percent from 2020, when the federal government deported over 185,000 illegal aliens under Trump-era immigration rules.

 

In comparison to Trumpโ€™s 2019 deportation rates, the drop is even more pronounced: that year, the DHS deported over 250,000 illegal aliens.

 

The significant drop comes as Border Patrol agents along the southern border find themselves inundated with unprecedented levels of illegal immigration.

 

โ€œThere can be no doubt, the ICE removal report shows that President Bidenโ€™s immigration executive orders have all but abolished ICE,โ€ Preston Huennekens, government relations manager at the Federation for American Immigration Reform, told The Epoch Times in an email. โ€œBidenโ€™s policies have eviscerated ICEโ€™s ability to do its job, endangering American citizens and prioritizing radical politics over the rule of law.โ€

 

Since Biden took office, he has taken a far more laissez-faire approach to border security than Trump did.

 

Biden halted construction on Trumpโ€™s border wall almost immediately after taking office, leaving construction materials that had already been paid for by the federal government sitting unused along the border. At the same time, he reduced the number of border agents, leaving the remaining agents struggling to stop the unprecedented inflow of illegal immigrants into the country.

 

Biden also overturned Trumpโ€™s โ€œRemain in Mexicoโ€ policy, which required that those seeking asylum in the United States remain in Mexico until their asylum applications were approved.

 

Critics say the record levels of illegal immigration are a result of the Biden administrationโ€™s relaxed enforcement measures.

 

Estimates of how many illegal aliens have entered the country since Biden took office vary, but U.S. Customs and Border Protection data show that about 2 million people illegally crossed the border in 2021, a nearly fourfold increase from illegal crossings a year earlier.

 

In a March 11 press release, DHS defended itself from charges of failing to enforce immigration law, saying that it has focused on deporting dangerous felons and other criminals who pose a risk to society.

Mexico finds 17 bodies buried in backyards, patios

 

MEXICO CITY (AP) โ€” Volunteer searchers in northern Mexico led authorities to a series of grisly finds: 17 bodies or skeletal remains buried in the backyards and patios of houses in a low-income housing development, prosecutors in the northern border state of Sonora said late Sunday.

 

They said the bodies had been stacked in four clandestine burial pits, and said searches would continue Monday at other homes.

 

The prosecutors office said the finds were made over the weekend at abandoned houses in the city of Ciudad Obregon. It said the victims had apparently been killed between six months and a year ago.

 

The state prosecutorsโ€™ office said the bodies would be subject to genetic and specialized forensics tests to identify them.

 

Photos posted by the prosecutorsโ€™ office showed searchers digging by hand and with a backhoe in the yards, and in some cases under the foundations of the homes.

 

While it is more common for bodies to be buried in pits in vacant lots or outside of towns, some drug gangs in Mexico use abandoned or rented dwellings as execution chambers for kidnap victims or suspected rivals, and simply bury the bodies under the floors or in the yards before abandoning the dwellings.

 

Sonora has been locked in a bloody three-way turf battle between rival drug gangs, and the discovery of clandestine burial pits has become increasingly common. The turf battles involve rival factions of the Sinaloa cartel and gangs allied with fugitive drug lord Rafael Caro Quintero.

 

Last week, volunteer searchers found 11 bodies in clandestine burial pits just a few miles from the U.S. border.

 

The government of Sonora state said the bodies included nine men and two women were found in a series of pits, many holding several bodies, in San Luis Rio Colorado, across the border from Yuma, Arizona.

 

Volunteer search teams made up of relatives of disappeared people led authorities to the pits in a stretch of desert near a garbage dump.

 

Relatives of the disappeared have to conduct their own searches in many parts of Mexico, because police are unable or unwilling to do so.

 

Mexico has more than 98,356 disappeared, according to government data. Most are thought to have been killed by drug cartels, their bodies dumped into shallow graves, burned or dissolved.

 

The government has struggled to identify even the bodies that have been found. Some 52,000 await identification.

Researcher Tells Durham He Saw Holes In The Alfa Bank Hoax Before Democrats Shopped It To The FBI

 

A Georgia Tech researcher says he tried to politely throw cold water on a key part of the Russia collusion hoax before the Alfa Bank lie was eventually shopped to the media and government agencies, according to a newly obtained document. This new detail was one of several revealed in a document drafted by George Techโ€™s Manos Antonakakisโ€”the man branded โ€œResearcher-1โ€ in Special Counsel John Durhamโ€™s indictment of Michael Sussmann on one count of lying to FBI General Counsel James Baker.

 

As I explained previously, โ€œthat indictment alleged that when Sussmann met with Baker on September 19, 2016, to provide the FBI attorney with data and โ€˜white papersโ€™ that purported to establish a secret communication channel between the Trump organization and the Russia-connected Alfa Bank, Sussmann falsely claimed he was not acting on behalf of a client, when in reality Sussmann was working both for the Clinton campaign and an unnamed โ€˜U.S. technology industry executiveโ€™ since confirmed to be Rodney Joffe.โ€

 

After the Sussmann indictment dropped, Antonakakis emailed his private lawyers and an attorney and higher-ups at Georgia Tech a document entitled โ€œfallaciesโ€ that purported to identify several portions of the indictment he claimed are false or misleading. Last week, The Federalist reported on several details contained in an abbreviated version of the โ€œfallaciesโ€ document obtained from Georgia Tech pursuant to a Right-to-Know request.

 

On Thursday, The Federalist received a more complete version of the summary drafted by Antonakakis two days after news broke of Sussmannโ€™s indictment. That version included Antonakakisโ€™s synopsis of what he told Durhamโ€™s team about the Alfa Bank hoax.

 

โ€œThis part has been taken out of context,โ€ Antonakakis wrote of the indictmentโ€™s excerpt from an email he had sent to Joffe after reviewing a draft white paper laying out the Alfa Bank-Trump theory. That excerpt to Joffe read: โ€œA DNS expert would poke several holes to this hypothesis (primarily around visibility, about which very smartly you do not talk about). That being said, I do not think even the top security (non-DNS) researcher can refute your statements. Nice!โ€

Julian Assange denied permission to challenge extradition

 

The Supreme Court has refused to allow Julian Assange latest appeal against extradition to the United States.

A court spokesman said Mr Assange's application did not raise "an arguable point of law". The decision is a major blow to his hopes to avoid extradition.

The Wikileaks founder, 50, is wanted in the US over the publication thousands of classified files in 2010 and 2011.

The case will now goes back down to the original decision-making judge who assessed the United States' request.

Home Secretary Priti Patel is then expected to make a final decision. And even at that stage, there may still be grounds to mount a fresh challenge.

Mr Assange faces an 18-count indictment from the US government, accusing him of conspiring to hack into US military databases to acquire sensitive secret information relating to the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, which was then published on the Wikileaks website.

The Wikileaks documents revealed how the US military had killed hundreds of civilians in unreported incidents during the war in Afghanistan, while leaked Iraq war files showed 66,000 civilians had been killed, and prisoners tortured, by Iraqi forces.

The US says the leaks broke the law and endangered lives, but Mr Assange says the case is politically motivated.
