There are dozens of people covering up the crimes Trump committed against on US on 1/6 because they are calculating the benefit they get from Trump for staying quite is much bigger than the risk that they ever face accountability for committing/covering-up crimes against US.
Also, cool article by @axios trying to claim that Trump's record keeping was bad, possible that the 7+ hour gap on 1/6 was just poor record keeping: Trump's 2016 campaign was based on concept that former government officials should get "locked-up" for poor record keeping.
Also, more directly, would not explain how there are detailed morning and night records, just a big gap while his people were actually storming the Capitol, and Trump was blocking the federal response.
