Its the same as the fuckin commies – redistribution of wealth.
I do think we are going back to some sort of asset (gold) backed currency, However, there isn't going to be some broad sweeping "debt forgiveness ". That rewards the guy that could take out a $10M loan for ahouse on the beach, unnecessarily. And thereby penalizes you, who has no debt and lives in moms garage (just an example, not picking on you).
What they might choose to do - say with student loans (because it is a problem) is move it to be classified like other debt - specifically allowing it to be discharged via bankruptcy. There is (or was) a bipartisan House Bill to do allow that, but dunno where it is now. That would allow the market (best decision maker) to decide what happens to both tuition, educational institutions and lenders. Face it, spending $25K a year on a bachelors for a total of $100K to graduate and be worth $55K in salary at the end has got to be one of the shittiest financial choices anyone can make these days; but we've been brainwashed to believe it is a good thing.
