In 2014, a Disney Cruise Line steward, 36-year-old Ahmed Sofyan, was charged with two counts of molestation and one count of false imprisonment after holding a 13-year-old girl in an unoccupied cabin and molesting her. When this story was released, an ex-Disney Cruise officer spoke out, reporting a similar instance of child molestation that Disney authorities ordered her not to report just two years prior.

Dawn Taplin, the first female security officer at Disney and second in the entire cruise line industry, was on the cruise ship where this occurred. In 2014, she revealed Disney’s previous molestation cover-up.

In 2012, a Disney cruise ship employee was caught on camera molesting an 11-year-old girl in an elevator. Disney authorities allegedly did not allow security to report the incident.

Taplin interviewed the young victim after she and her grandmother reported the crime to Guest Services. The security officer, who had 17-years of experience as a police officer, found the surveillance footage extremely troubling.

The molestation occurred while the cruise ship was still docked at Port Canaveral in Florida while passengers were still boarding. Taplin recalls that they “weren’t going anywhere for another two hours or so.” Since they were still on U.S. land, Taplin notified the ship’s second-in-command and offered to call her FBI contact. However, she did not get the response she anticipated.

“I was ordered not to make any phone calls, do anything at all. Nothing. Period” recalled Taplin. She said that she was told, “Just keep your mouth shut.”

“If a crime is committed while you’re hooked up anywhere here, it is an American, it is a United States, it is a Florida crime,” said Taplin.

Released docs show how Australian government misled citizens

The authorities have sought to undermine digital privacy since at least 2015

Online news outlet Al Jazeera published previously unseen and heavily redacted documents on Tuesday after grappling with the Australian government for nearly five years over a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. The documents paint a troubling picture of the closed-door conversations that preceded the Assistance and Access Act, far-reaching legislation announced in 2017 that became law the following year.

The law forces tech companies like Google, Facebook and Apple to grant police access to users’ encrypted data. It includes steep fines to punish companies that refuse to turn over private data to police. Individual citizens who refuse to cooperate could face prison time under the uniquely harsh policy.

Revelations from the documents include a November 2015 letter in which Australia’s Attorney-General’s Department addressed the heads of intelligence and law enforcement agencies about “broader plans to improve the Telecommunications (Intercept and Access) Act 1979.” It asked for input “to better understand the broader operational and technological context” ahead of advising legislators on how best to tackle encryption on behalf of law enforcement.

The letter says that the Austrialian government “has indicated publicly that it favors strong encryption, but has also acknowledged that this technology is misused by criminals and terrorists,” a theme echoed in officials’ consultation with Australian tech firms. Writing to the elite of the country’s tech sector, then-Secretary of Communications and the Arts Heather Smith assured them that “government will not require the creation of so-called ‘back doors’ to encryption,” but was merely “seeking collaboration with, and reasonable assistance from, our industry partners in the pursuit of public safety.”

Tech companies and opposition leaders in Australia’s parliament were against the Assistance and Access Act due to fears that deliberately introducing systemic weaknesses – so-called “back door” vulnerabilities to bypass encryption – would compromise the privacy of law-abiding Australians, make the country’s infrastructure less secure, and complicate the process by which Australian police work with foreign agencies on international law enforcement.

Encryption, a perennial frustration for governments in their fight against terrorism and organized crime, was a matter of widespread public debate in 2015 when Apple famously refused to turn private data over to the FBI, which the latter deemed crucial to its investigation into a mass shooting and attempted bombing in San Bernadino, California.

Pope Francis didn’t want to upset illegal Muslim migrants in Malta so he removed the cross from his venue on the island. Instead, the Pope sat in front of thousands of empty plastic bottles to discuss protecting the ecology and migrants.

The Free Republic reported on Monday on the Pope’s recent visit to Malta.

Organizers canceled the crucifix from the papal podium because Pope Francis did not want to offend illegal Muslim migrants during the climax of his Malta trip.

Instead, recycled plastic bottles with red blobs were used to design the backdrop for the pope’s address to migrants at the John XXIII Peace Lab in Ħal-Far on Saturday, a voluntary organization run by leftist Franciscan friar Fr. Dionysius Mintoff.

“When you look deeper, you will see that the sea is made of recycled plastic bottles, because there is more plastic than fish in our sea. And the red blobs are life jackets — the lives of people lost at sea,” artistic director Carlo Schembri explained.

Schembri, who was commissioned to design the key backdrops for the papal visit to Malta, insisted he was being faithful to Francis’ primary reason for visiting the island — to defend migrants and the ecology.

“The podium will not be adorned with a crucifix, given that the majority of migrants are Muslim,” the Malta archdiocese noted, in an article published on its website, adding that “the pontiff’s visit is expected to draw attention to the brutal situation of Malta’s migrant community.”

Removing the crucifix from his presentation in Malta isn’t the first action where the current Pope was criticized for his actions. The Pope called Joe Biden a good Catholic after years of Biden pushing for abortion. Biden also is involved in the stolen 2020 Election and the destruction of the freest country in the world. These moves don’t appear to be good at all.

RINO Fred Upton Who Voted for Trump Impeachment Announces His Retirement from Congress

Rep. Fred Upton from Michigan announced on Tuesday he will not seek reelection. Upton is one of 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Republican President Trump.

U.S. Representative Fred Upton on Tuesday said he will retire from Congress, marking the latest political exit by a Republican lawmaker who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump.

“Even the best stories (have) a last chapter. This is it for me,” the Michigan Republican said in a statement delivered from the U.S. House of Representatives floor.

“I’ve signed over a million letters, cast more votes while in the chamber here and accomplished what I set out to do with more unfinished work still yet to come,” added Upton, whose current term ends this year.

Upton was one of 10 Republican House members who voted to impeach then-President Donald Trump after the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, attack at the Capitol.

He was an early critic of Trump’s false claims that he lost the November presidential election due to widespread fraud and has said his vote for impeachment was to “send a clear message” that the United States will not tolerate a president impeding the peaceful transfer of power.

Trump has endorsed Michigan state lawmaker Steve Carra’s bid to challenge Upton.

Steve Carra dropped out on March 15, which improved the standing of Upton’s challenger, Trump-backed Huizenga.

Upton stood to potentially gain from a third contender in the GOP primary, state Rep. Steve Carra of Three Rivers, because it was thought Carra would split the pro-Trump vote with Huizenga. But Carra dropped out March 15 and endorsed Huizenga after the Trump endorsement.

Hundreds of Suspects Filmed Stuffing Multiple Ballots Into PA County Drop Boxes — But Republican DA Won’t Prosecute ANY of the Suspects Because Not Everyone Has Been Identified

On October 28, 2021, at around 7:45 PM ET two LCGC cameras captured a person of interest (POI) who was caught on video inserting several ballots into a ballot drop box in Lehigh County Pennsylvania.

The balding man is seen wearing a long sleeve V-neck red shirt, grey jeans, black shoes and a watch on his left wrist. He was carrying several ballots and was filmed stuffing them in the ballot box.

The Pennsylvania Senate Intergovernmental Operations Committee held a hearing on March 30, 2022, on drop boxes and the alleged ballot trafficking in Lehigh County in the November 2021 election. This video of ballot trafficking was shared as evidence with the committee members.

There were hundreds of instances of similar instances of ballot trafficking that took place at the drop boxes during the 2021 election.

On Monday Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin, a Republican, admitted that there were likely hundreds of instances where people deposited numerous ballots into the ballot drop boxes in the last election.

At least 288 people deposited more than one ballot in the various drop boxes, all of which were under video surveillance.

District Attorney Jim Martin, a Republican, then announced he will not prosecute the suspects “because to prosecute those few whose identity can be proven would be unfair and unjust given the much larger numbers who cannot be identified and who also deposited multiple ballots.”

You can’t identify all of the suspects so he will not file charges against ANY of the suspects.

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin said Monday there were likely hundreds of instances where people deposited more than one ballot into drop boxes between Oct. 18 and election day, Nov. 2, 2021.

Joe Vichot, Chairman of the Lehigh County Republican Committee, submitted correspondence on Jan. 20., 2022 to Deputy County Solicitor, Sarah Murray, regarding alleged multiple ballots deposited at drop boxes during the 2021 November election, according to a news release from the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.

On Feb. 1, 2022, the Election Board of Lehigh County through Deputy Solicitor Murray referred the matter to the District Attorney for investigation. Martin said he referred the matter to Chief County Detective Michael J. Millan, who assigned County Detectives Richard G. Heffelfinger, Steven C. Furlong and Robert V. Egan to the investigation.

Putin, Xi Open To 'Direct Talks' With Zelensky As Pentagon Fails To Confirm Russian Involvement In Bucha Killings

Following months of badgering by the Europeans to take a more active role in stopping the conflict in Ukraine, President Xi is reportedly considering one-on-one talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (what would be the first round of direct talks between the two since the invasion began) following a round of lower-level talks.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin telegraphed on Tuesday that it would also be open to direct talks between Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin, but only if the two sides could first agree on a formal document outlining terms.

According to Bloomberg, Foreign Minster Wang Yi expressed a desire for China to take a more active role in cease-fire talks (as the Europeans have been begging Beijing to do) during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba (the meeting marked their first exchange since March 1).

However, Wang made no new commitments about mediating the conflict.

Wang noted that Xi had "comprehensively expounded" on the need for dialogue and peace talks, but the Chinese diplomat made no new commitments toward mediating the conflict. "China does not seek geopolitical interests, nor will it watch the event from a safe distance while sitting idle, or add fuel to the fire," Wang said.

In a tweet about the meeting, Kuleba said he was "grateful" for his Chinese counterpart, and insisted that they both "share the conviction that ending the war against Ukraine serves common interests of peace."

Arizona: Matt Salmon Opposed Border Wall, Fought for Amnesty

Arizona Gubernatorial candidate Matt Salmon is talking tough on combatting illegal immigration and securing his state’s southern border with Mexico as he takes on Trump-endorsed Kari Lake for the GOP nomination for Governor. However, Salmon has a long history of being soft on border security and immigration issues dating back to his days in Congress. Before launching his latest campaign, Matt Salmon opposed the construction of the border wall and even fought the Trump Administration on DACA, lobbying Congress to make amnesty for illegal aliens the law of the land.

The version of Matt Salmon on immigration being presented to Arizonans as he runs against Trump-endorsed firebrand Kari Lake in the state’s GOP primary is far from the one reality has known throughout his lengthy career in and around politics. In addition to his support of Communist Chinese Confucious Institutes that was previously reported on by National File, Matt Salmon has a long history of weakness on border security and immigration, only seeming to turn up the heat on the issue when faced this year with Kari Lake’s America First platform, which includes support for finishing Arizona’s sections of the border wall if Washington fails to act.

Though he now claims to support constructing a wall to defend America and Arizona’s southern border from illegal immigration and narco invasion, Salmon echoed Democrats and “Never Trump” Republicans at the end of his second stint in Congress, arguing that the wall would be “incredibly expensive” to construct, apparently disregarding just how costly illegal immigration has been to Americans. There are “readily available solutions without having to build a massive wall,” Salmon said of solving America’s border crisis at the time.

Now, Salmon is singing a much different tune on President Trump’s border wall, claiming to be an ardent supporter of it and even including a picture of himself standing alongside a section of the wall in the “Law and Order” portion of his campaign website. Despite his early dismissal of the “massive wall,” Salmon now lists finishing it among his top solutions to solving the border crisis that has so heavily impacted Arizona.

Shortly after opposing the border wall on his way out of Congress, Salmon served as Vice President for Government Affairs at Arizona State University. It was during that time that the Trump Administration moved to end the Obama-era DACA amnesty program for illegal aliens, which affected some Arizona State students. Though he said he opposed the program while in Congress, Salmon admitted in 2017 that he is actually in favor of amnesty and lobbied for Congress to subvert the Trump Administration. Matt Salmon ultimately argued to make Obama’s DACA program the law of the land.

Ron Klain solicited charity funds from Hunter Biden in 2012

Current White House chief of staff Ron Klain approached Hunter Biden in September 2012 for help raising $20,000 for a foundation that looks after the vice president’s residence, but told the now-first son to “keep it low key” to prevent “bad PR,” according to emails obtained by The Post

In a Sept. 21, 2012 message to Hunter Biden, first reported by Fox News, Klain said he needed to “tackle a piece of unpleasant business.”

“The tax lawyers for the VP Residence Foundation have concluded that since the Cheney folks last raised money in 2007 and not 2008, we actually have to have some incoming funds before the end of this fiscal year (i.e., before 9/30/12 – next week) to remain eligible to be a ‘public charity,’” wrote Klain, referring to former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Klain at the time was chairman of the nonprofit Vice President’s Residence Foundation after leaving then-Vice President Joe Biden’s office the year before.

“It’s not much — we need to raise a total of $20,000 — so I’m hitting up a few very close friends on a very confidential basis to write checks of $2,000 each,” Klain added.

“We need to keep this low low key, because raising money for the Residence now is bad PR — but it has to be done, so I’m trying to just collect the 10 checks of $2,000, get it done in a week, and then, we can do an event for the Residence Foundation after the [presidential] election,” he concluded.

Hunter Biden, according to Fox News, forwarded Klain’s email to Eric Schwerin, a longtime business partner who was managing his finances.

Schwerin responded by saying they could “discuss this and some other bills on Monday,” and asked Hunter whether he thought “they would take a corporate check from Owasco,” an apparent reference to Hunter Biden’s law firm, Owasco PC.

Three days later, on Monday, Sept. 24, Hunter Biden emailed Klain: “Working on it- my partner Eric will be in touch.”

“Thanks!” Klain answered.

On the same day, according to Fox, Schwerin emailed the younger Biden to say he had talked to Klain, who was checking to see if the foundation would take a check from Owasco.

It remains unclear whether Owasco contributed to the foundation, but a 990 tax form from fiscal year 2012 shows that it received $20,500 in contributions, just over Klain’s ask.

John Durham: Ex-Clinton Lawyer Allegedly Lied to FBI in Writing

Special counsel John Durham published potentially conclusive evidence in the case against former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann on Monday night, showing alleged text messages the cybersecurity lawyer sent to the FBI general counsel that he wasn’t working for any client when he provided information to the bureau.

Durham’s team charged Sussmann last year with lying to the FBI when he presented information about former President Donald Trump to former FBI General Counsel James “Jim” Baker in late 2016. Sussmann allegedly concealed that he was working for the Democratic National Committee, Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, and tech executive Rodney Joffe when he provided claims that the Trump Organization had a secret link with a Russian bank, which the FBI later said was not credible.

“Jim – it’s Michael Sussmann. I have something time-sensitive (and sensitive) I need to discuss,” Sussmann allegedly wrote to Baker, according to the late-night court filing (pdf). “Do you have availibilty [sic] for a short meeting tomorrow? I’m coming on my own – not on behalf of a client or company – want to help the Bureau. Thanks.”

And Baker responded: “Ok. I will find a time. What might work for you?” Sussmann then replied, “Any time but lunchtime – you name it.”

Sussmann’s lawyers previously denied that their client made such claims to Baker, saying it was made orally. However, Durham’s latest filing suggests that Sussmann may have put it in writing.

“The Special Counsel has brought a false statement charge on the basis of a purported oral statement made over five years ago for which there is only a single witness, Mr. Baker; for which there is no recording; and for which there are no contemporaneous notes by anyone who was actually in the meeting,” Sussmann’s lawyers said last year.

In October, meanwhile, Durham’s team wrote that prosecutors will call Baker—who now works for Twitter—to testify in the upcoming trial.

Sussmann has pleaded not guilty and said he committed no wrongdoing. His lawyers recently called on a federal judge to dismiss the case, arguing that Durham’s probe is politically motivated.

But Durham said that Sussmann’s allegedly false statement to Baker was, in fact, “plainly material because it misled the General Counsel about, among other things, the critical fact that the defendant was disseminating highly explosive allegations about a then-Presidential candidate on behalf of two specific clients, one of which was the opposing Presidential campaign,” according to court documents.

Further, Durham asserted that Sussmann “repeatedly billed the Clinton campaign” for his work on their behalf.

Also on Monday, Sussmann’s lawyers wrote (pdf) that the discredited and controversial “Steele dossier” should not be included in the case as former UK spy Christopher Steele’s “conduct is wholly irrelevant to the charge against Mr. Sussmann,” adding that to allow “evidence regarding Mr. Steele would invite a distracting and highly prejudicial mini-trial on a fraught topic with no connection to the charge in this matter.”

Through their philanthropic organization the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), which lists Barack Obama’s former campaign manager David Plouffe (who authored the book A Citizen’s Guide to Beating Donald Trump) as a key strategist, Zuckerberg and his wife donated $69.5 million to the Center for Election Innovation and Research (CEIR) and a whopping $328 million to the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL), a non-profit headed by Obama Foundation fellow Tiana Epps-Johnson, who prior to creating CTCL in 2015, worked for an organization described by the Washington Post as “the Democratic party’s Hogwarts for digital wizardry.”

As former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Michael Gabelman says in the documentary, the CTCL essentially became a vehicle for Zuckerberg and Chan to fund get-out-the-vote efforts in mostly Democrat-populated districts in key swing states like Wisconsin.

In 2019, CTCL received a mere $2.8 million in contributions before the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative’s $328 million cash infusion in the lead-up to the 2020 election. Though these massive funds were labeled as “grants” for “safe administrations of public elections during the COVID-19 pandemic,” the documentary demonstrates that these donations were used to encourage and facilitate mail-in voting disproportionally in Democrat-run areas as well as to fund the proliferation of ballot drop boxes and a host of other things designed to boost Joe Biden’s vote totals in key swing states.

“They’re sending the money to big urban centers, they’re dramatically-increasing the ballot boxes that are there, and they’re conditioning the money on those polling locations, those government entities, throwing open the flood gates, to potential voter fraud,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) says in Rigged. “This was the greatest billionaire assault on election integrity we’ve ever seen.”

EU Set to Sanction Hungary After Orbán Election Landslide

The European Union looks set to launch sanctions against Hungary after Viktor Orbán achieved a landslide victory in the country’s recent general election.

It appears that the European Union is not happy with the result of Hungary’s recent general election, with many in Brussels seemingly hoping the country’s united opposition would manage to unseat long-running conservative Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

However, after Orbán’s recent landslide victory, the EU looks set to take a different approach to tackling the populist administration.

According to a report by Euronews, the European Commission has triggered the so-called “conditionality mechanism” over what are alleged to be Hungarian breaches of EU law.

The move — which had only recently been ruled legal by a European court — opens up the eastern-European country to economic sanctions, allowing the EU to freeze funding sent to the eastern European country, which reportedly amounts currently to around five billion euros per anum.

While the exact reasons for the triggering of the mechanism were not given, the commission has previously repeatedly targeted Hungary over alleged “corruption” regarding its judiciary, with many in Europe also taking issue with the Conservative cultural dominance in its national media.

Both Hungary and Poland were previously seen as prime targets for the rules by the EU before the Ukraine crisis kicked off again in late February, with the bloc accusing both countries of democratic shortcomings not in keeping with European values.

Post-Russia’s renewed invasion of Ukraine, it seems Hungary has become the prime internal target for Brussels’ wrath, with Orbán’s administration being accused of unfairly tipping the scales of the election via the cultural capital conservatives have in Hungary.

The sentiment that the Hungarian administration should be punished for perceived transgressions against the European order appears to be common amongst union elites, with some within the EU cheering on the possibility of sanctions.

“[The EU Commission] finally takes action [against] Hungary within the rule of law mechanism,” wrote Romanian MEP Ramona Strugariu online. “It’s time for Hungarian PM Orbán to pay for all the violations of democracy, [Human Rights] and [Rule of Law].”

Others meanwhile have attacked Orbán over his alleged friendliness towards Vladimir Putin, with the Prime Minister having found himself repeatedly at loggerheads with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

German Supermarkets Substantially Raise Food Product Prices

German supermarket chains including Aldi and Lidl have announced they will be significantly raising prices on some goods, such as cooking oils and other food products due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The German supermarket chains have indicated that due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, they will be increasing the prices of some goods as the renewed conflict has had a significant impact on global commodity prices.

Some prices are set to rise as much as 30 per cent, and in some cases as much as 50 per cent this week, and newspaper Berliner Zeitung reports the items impacted will include: “cooking oil, butter and margarine… also chocolate, crisps, preserves, sausage, spreads and cheese”.

“Due to the situation on the world markets, we will experience jumps in sales prices that have never been seen before,” Managing Director Communications at Aldi North Florian Scholbeck said and added, “There will be no empty shelves.”

Erik Döbele, national head of purchasing at Aldi South, meanwhile, stated that Aldi does not plan to ration any goods or limit the number of items people can purchase, but Lidl stated that own-brand products such as cooking oil and canned food, would have limits per customer as the demand for the items remains high.

The Federal Association of the German Food Trade’s spokesman Christian Böttcher also recently called on German consumers to limit their purchases to what they need in order to have solidarity with others so that store shelves do not become bare.

Many have wanted about the economic impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, particularly its effect on the agricultural industry, as both Russia and Ukraine are major exporters of food, as well as items needed to produce fertilizers.

Swedish farmers may be forced to reduce their harvests by half due to a shortage of manure and fertilizers from Russia and Ukraine and are also said to be struggling with rising costs of energy, such as diesel fuel.

Former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, who now serves as a security official, warned that Russia may also limit food exports to countries deemed “unfriendly” and said countries may have to pay partially for commodities in Russian rubles, as well as their local currency.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi enthusiastically celebrated Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s landslide victory this weekend in a call to his counterpart in the country, Foreign Affairs Minister Peter Szijjarto, and vowed China would “staunchly support” Orbán in Hungary’s “development path.”

Orbán’s Fidesz Party, which identifies as nationalist and conservative, won a decisive victory on Sunday, securing about 53 percent of the vote agianst the opposition United for Hungary Party. Wang reportedly told Orbán’s top diplomat in a phone call on Tuesday that China would seek to “continue to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields to build a stronger comprehensive strategic partnership,” according to the Chinese regime news outlet Xinhua.

The Chinese Communist Party’s embrace of the victory follows Orbán himself declaring in his victory speech on Sunday that he had defeated “the left at home [and] the international left all around” to stay in power. Orbán has previously declared it a “calling” of former communist states in Europe to ensure that Western values prevail over authoritarianism.

“In this situation in Europe, we Hungarians can clearly see the essence of our European calling,” Orbán said in remarks last year. “It is to bring the uncompromising anti-communist tradition into the common store of European values. West Tries to Sabotage Russia-Ukraine Talks With Bucha Hysteria, Lavrov Says

Ukrainian and western media have accused Russia of committing mass killings of civilians in the Ukrainian city of Bucha. Moscow, for its part, said that the Bucha situation is nothing short of provocation created by Ukraine specifically for the western media.

The West is trying to sabotage negotiations between Russia and Ukraine by fueling the hype around the Bucha provocation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday.

The top Russian official noted that the provocation in Bucha took place just as Ukraine rolled out possible peace suggestions, including those regarding Crimea.

Should such attempts by the West continue, there is a risk negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will repeat the fate of the Minsk agreements - something that "should not happen", the minister said.

The talks in Istanbul took place in late March and were considered fruitful, with Russia even noting that Kiev "confirmed the need to ensure a non-nuclear, non-bloc status of Ukraine" and its security outside NATO, along with Ukraine acknowledging that the "issues of Crimea and Donbass have been finally resolved".

"For us to have real progress, not the illusion of it, we insist that an unambiguous signal be sent to Kiev not to sabotage the process," the minister stressed. "Otherwise, we risk repeating the fate of the Minsk agreements, and we will never agree to this."

The Russian foreign minister went on to say that Moscow is concerned about Kiev's decision to demand the ratification of a potential peace deal and a referendum. According to Lavrov, this might complicate the process.

Lavrov's remarks come as the western media, along with the Ukrainian outlets, continue to fuel the narrative that Russia is behind the mass killings of civilians in the Ukrainian city of Bucha, citing footage that shows bodies strewn across the city's streets as evidence. However, the footage appeared to be questionable, as many observers said that "corpses" were moving or even standing up when the camera moved past them.

Moscow said that the Bucha allegations are "yet another provocation" carried out especially for western media and aimed at slandering Russia. Moscow has twice requested an urgent session of the United Nations Security Council over the Bucha situation, but the United Kingdom (which is at present presiding over the UNSC) refused both times to hold the meeting.

Questions Abound About Bucha Massacre

The West has made a snap judgment about who is responsible for the massacre at the Ukrainian town of Bucha with calls for more stringent sanctions on Russia, but the question of guilt is far from decided, writes Joe Lauria.

Within hours of news Sunday that there had been a massacre at Bucha, a town 63 kms north of the Ukrainian capital, the verdict was in: Russian troops had senselessly slaughtered hundreds of innocent civilians as they withdrew from the town, leaving their bodies littering the streets.

Unlike their judicial systems, when it comes to war, Western nations dispense with the need for investigations and evidence and pronounce guilt based on political motives: Russia is guilty. Case closed.

Except the case hasn’t even been opened yet and the sentence is already being proposed. French President Emmanuel Macron, for instance, has called for Russian coal and oil to be banned from Europe. “There are very clear indications of war crimes,” he said on France Inter radio Monday. “What happened in Bucha demands a new round of sanctions and very clear measures, so we will co-ordinate with our European partners, especially with Germany.”

Other voices are now perilously calling for the U.S. to go to war with Russia over the incident.

“This is genocide,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Face the Nation on CBS. “Mothers of Russians should see this. See what bastards you’ve raised. Murderers, looters, butchers,” he added on Telegram.

Russia has categorically denied it had anything to do with the massacre.

If there were to be a serious probe, one of the first places an investigator would begin is to map out a timeline of events.

Last Wednesday, all Russian forces left Bucha, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

This was confirmed on Thursday by a smiling Anatolii Fedoruk, the mayor of Bucha, in a video on the Bucha City Council official Facebook page. The translated post accompanying the video says:

Lapid explicitly accuses Russia of war crimes, in first for top Israeli official

Earlier, PM Bennett expressed shock over atrocities but did not name Moscow; US says Bucha was a ‘deliberate campaign to kill, to torture, to rape’

Israel’s Foreign Minister Yair Lapid explicitly accused Russia of war crimes on Tuesday, in the strongest comments against Moscow yet by a top Israeli official.

“A large and powerful country has invaded a smaller neighbor without any justification. Once again, the ground is soaked with the blood of innocent civilians,” Lapid charged while in Cyprus, speaking alongside his Cypriot and Greek counterparts, according to a statement from his spokesman.

“The images and testimony from Ukraine are horrific. Russian forces committed war crimes against a defenseless civilian population. I strongly condemn these war crimes,” Lapid said in reference to the alleged atrocities committed in the Kyiv suburb Bucha.

Lapid noted that the war in Ukraine offered opportunities for new energy partnerships, saying that it will “change the structure of the European and Middle Eastern energy market.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett condemned the killing of civilians in Bucha, but did not blame Russia or anyone else for the atrocities.

“We are shocked by the difficult pictures coming from Bucha, terrible scenes,” he said while visiting an army post in the West Bank.

Asked about the alleged mass killings of civilians by Russian forces, Bennett said, “We condemn them with all force.”

He noted that “the suffering of Ukrainian citizens is huge” and noted that Israel has set up a field hospital in western Ukraine, which “all Israelis should be proud of.”

Israel has avoided aligning too closely with either side since Russian troops invaded Ukraine on February 24. It is one of the few countries that maintains relatively warm relations with both Ukraine, a fellow Western democracy, as well as Russia.

Moscow controls the airspace over Syria, in which Israel operates to target Iranian proxies, and this is seen as a key reason for Israel’s careful comments on the war.

While Lapid has taken a clearer stance against Russia, condemning its actions in Ukraine on several occasions and vowing that Israel will not be used as a “route to bypass” sanctions on Russian oligarchs, Bennett has avoided blaming Russia, instead attempting to position himself as a mediator in the conflict.

Russia systematically explains its position on the situation in Bucha, but the collective West "shut its eyes and ears with blinds" and is not willing to listen, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Tuesday.

He noted that, previously, the Russian position was "rather systematically explained" by Permanent Representative to the UN Vasiliy Nebenzya and by the Ministry of Defense.

"The information was delivered. But, on the other hand, there is an impression that the collective West simply shut its eyes and ears with blinds and does not want to listen about anything. This is regrettably a reality, [but], despite all that, we still intend to actively promote our arguments," the spokesman said.

Commenting on the possibility of an investigation of the Bucha situation, the spokesman noted hat "it is necessary to consider, how possible a truly impartial, unbiased, and neutral investigation is at this moment."

"We continue to insist that all accusations against Russia, against Russian military are not merely groundless, but a well-directed show, nothing else but a tragic show," Peskov said.

According to the spokesman, the entire progress of events, a huge amount of information, facts and other parameters clearly prove that the situation in Bucha is a forgery, designed to smear the Russian army.

"They will not succeed; we once again call on, first and foremost, UN Security Council members, Western leaders to refrain from an emotional perception, based on nothing, and just to think rationally and to attempt to juxtapose the facts, in order to understand what kind of horrific forgery we are talking about," the spokesman said.

He also noted that Russian diplomats continue their attempts to deliver information to the United Nations.

"Our diplomats are working in the UN, the work continues. You know that our work is being undermined in rather unprecedented ways, our initiatives are being blocked, but, despite that, we will not stand idly by," Peskov concluded.

Denmark expels 15 Russian diplomats, foreign minister says

Denmark’s government has made a decision on expelling 15 Russian diplomats, Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod announced on Tuesday.

"The government is expelling from Denmark 15 Russian intelligence agents, they must leave the country within the next 14 days," he said. "This is a historic step, which we are taking here from the Danish side. But we are also doing this jointly with a large number of European countries because we want to ensure our security."

Denmark’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Russian ambassador has been informed about this decision.

According to the statement, Denmark is not seeking to sever diplomatic relations with Moscow, hence the ambassador and some other staff won’t be expelled.

UAE sentences Israeli woman to death over half-kilo of cocaine

Fidaa Kiwan, arrested in March 2021, claims drugs did not belong to her; officials anticipate reduction in punishment after appeal

An Israeli woman, Fidaa Kiwan, was sentenced to death Tuesday in Dubai after she was convicted of possessing half a kilogram of cocaine.

The Foreign Ministry said that “the case is known and we are handling it through the consular service and our representatives in the Emirates.”

Kiwan, a 43-year-old Haifa resident who owns a photography studio, reportedly came to Dubai for work at the invitation of a Palestinian acquaintance a year ago. She was arrested a short while later, on March 17, 2021, after a search of her apartment turned up the drugs, the Ynet news site reported. She has claimed that the drugs were not hers, and her local lawyer is expected to appeal the decision.

Officials with knowledge of the case told The Times of Israel that they expect the sentence to be reduced to a long prison term upon appeal.

The United Arab Emirates is known for its strict anti-drug laws, with those convicted of drug trafficking facing a possible death sentence. However, the death sentences are not rigorously enforced in many cases and tend to be converted into heavy prison sentences.

This was not the first time that the UAE has made a notable drug bust of an Israeli. In October 2021, it was reported that an Israeli man — Halil Dasuki, 31, from Lod — was arrested in Dubai on suspicion of involvement in a scheme to smuggle half a ton of cocaine into the UAE and from there to Israel.

At the time, Emirati police said they foiled the smuggling attempt after receiving a tip about a cargo container carrying the contraband through a seaport. They noted that a suspect of “Middle Eastern origin” was arrested in the operation, and he was described as an intermediary for an international drug syndicate.

Special Counsel John Durham revealed he has unearthed a text message showing Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann falsely told the FBI he was not working on behalf of any client when he delivered anti-Trump research.

Special Counsel John Durham is revealing new smoking gun evidence, a text message that shows a Clinton campaign lawyer lied to the FBI, while putting the courts on notice he is prepared to show the effort to smear Donald Trump with now-disproven Russia collusion allegations was a "conspiracy."

In a bombshell court filing late Monday night, Durham for the first time suggested Hillary Clinton's campaign, her researchers and others formed a "joint venture or conspiracy" for the purpose of weaving the collusion story to harm Trump's election chances and then the start of his presidency.

"These parties acted as 'joint venturer[s]' and therefore should be 'considered as co-conspirator[s],'" he wrote.

Durham also revealed he has unearthed a text message showing Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann falsely told the FBI he was not working on behalf of any client when he delivered now-discredited anti-Trump research in the lead-up to the 2016 election. In fact, he was working for the Clinton campaign and another client, prosecutors say.

The existence of the text message between Sussmann and then-FBI General Counsel James Baker was revealed in a court filing late Monday night by Durham's team. Prosecutors said they intend to show Sussmann gave a false story to the FBI but then told the truth about working on behalf of the Clinton campaign when he later testified to Congress.

"Jim – it's Michael Sussmann. I have something time-sensitive (and sensitive) I need to discuss," Sussmann texted Baker on Sept. 18, 2016, according to the new court filing. "Do you have availability for a short meeting tomorrow? I'm coming on my own – not on behalf of a client or company – want to help the Bureau. Thanks."

Prosecutors said the text message will become essential evidence at trial to show Sussmann lied to the FBI.

Obama's signature, government-backed measure was a major overhaul to the U.S. health care system to make medical insurance more affordable and accessible to Americans.

The gathering Tuesday marked Obama's first time returning to the White House since his presidency.

The policy change addresses the so-called "family glitch" in the Affordable Care Act, which refers to a provision of the law that allows an individual to qualify for a subsidized Obamacare plan if their employer-based plan rises above a pre-set percentage, regardless of how many family members are covered.

The White House Is Pushing Puberty Blockers for ‘Trans Kids.’ It’s Relying on a Problematic Study.

The Biden administration promoted the use of puberty blockers for transgender children by citing a study from an LGBT group funded in part by a manufacturer of the controversial drugs used in gender reassignment.

In statements commemorating "Transgender Day of Visibility," the White House and Department of Health and Human Services cited research from the Trevor Project to support the use of puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and sex-reassignment procedures in children seeking to change genders. Two of the Trevor Project’s donors, AbbVie and Allergan, make drugs and medical products used in the medical gender transition process. The charitable foundations of both companies gave at least $50,000 to the Trevor Project, according to a review of tax documents and the Trevor Project’s website. The Trevor Project did not disclose the funding in its research.

The Biden administration’s support for "gender-affirming" care, the progressive buzzword for gender transitions, comes as conservatives push to stop the prescription of hormones and puberty blockers to children. Texas governor Greg Abbott (R.) has called on the state’s child welfare service to open abuse investigations into parents who give puberty blockers and hormones to children. Texas attorney general Ken Paxton (R.) subpoenaed AbbVie and drug maker Endo Pharmaceuticals, claiming both companies improperly promote the use of puberty blockers in transgender children.

The Trevor Project study, published in the Journal of Adolescent Health and cited by numerous news outlets, claimed that teenagers with access to drugs and procedures to change genders were less likely to have depression and suicidal thoughts. The organization polled nearly 12,000 transgender and nonbinary youth, offering gift cards to some participants. In citing the study, HHS said "early" use of the drugs was "crucial" to the well-being of transgender children.

AbbVie makes Lupron, a drug designed to treat premature puberty that is sold off-label to transgender children. The company also sells Androgel, a testosterone booster used in the female-to-male transition process. Allergan makes materials used in gender reassignment procedures.

Though the medical gender transition industry is growing rapidly, some researchers say puberty blockers and hormone treatments for children have not been studied enough to ensure their safety.

A group of scientists, including a physician who has taken part in clinical research for AbbVie, wrote in a 2019 letter published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism that the therapies could cause sterility, sexual dysfunction, and cardiovascular problems. The researchers also said that limited data from people who have undergone gender transitions "fail to demonstrate long-term success in suicide prevention."

The Biden administration’s endorsement could pave the way for broader acceptance of the use of puberty blockers and hormone therapy in children. The White House said in its fact sheet on Transgender Day of Visibility that children who identify as transgender have "the right to access gender-affirming health care."

Drug companies have ramped up funding for LGBT groups and transgender research in recent years. A group of Stanford researchers who released another influential study this year endorsing hormone treatments received funding from Pfizer and Arbor, according to a report from the Daily Caller. Pfizer sells estradiol, an estrogen hormone used by males transitioning to females.

Pfizer is a sponsor of the Human Rights Campaign, an LGBT rights organization that was also cited in the HHS document touting treatment for transgender children. The document also cited research from the Endocrine Society, a medical group that has endorsed the use of puberty blockers for children seeking a gender change. AbbVie, Pfizer, and other drug companies that make drugs used in the gender transition process are corporate liaisons for the Endocrine Society. AbbVie gave $20,000 to the Endocrine Society in 2020.

Director of USAID Pandemic Threat Program stole Tax Payer Funds for Personal Gain

U.S. federal law prohibits the use of “official resources,” such as federal funds or one’s job title, for private gain. But while Dennis Carroll oversaw the USAID PREDICT program; which funded laboratory equipment for the Wuhan Institute of Virology, PREDICT funds were used to promote and further the Global Virome Project that Carroll cofounded.

U.S. federal law prohibits the use of “official resources,” such as federal funds or one’s job title, for private gain, be it your own gain or someone you know. A recent investigation has unveiled evidence showing Dennis Carroll, former director of the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Pandemic Threat Program, may have done just that. As reported by investigative journalist Paul Thacker:1

“While at USAID, Dennis Carroll oversaw a federal program called PREDICT, from which funds were used to launch another organization called the Global Virome Project. After leaving USAID, Carroll then became chair of the Global Virome Project’s board.

‘It would appear that Dennis Carroll violated federal law that prohibits the use of official resources for private gain or for that of persons or organizations with which he is associated personally,’ Craig Holman of Public Citizen said when shown emails2 made public by the nonprofit US Right to Know.

‘Official resources — including government means of communications, government-funded travel or even the use of one’s official title — may not be used to promote private interests, such as the Global Virome Project.’”

U.S. Right to Know (USRTK) obtained the incriminating documents3 through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. According to USRTK,4 it appears Carroll first designed the PREDICT program as a proof of concept for the Global Virome Project, and while he was receiving six-figure paychecks ($166,500 in 2019) from the USAID, he then founded, promoted and raised funds for the Global Virome Project, in some instances using USAID funding to do so.

Goals of the PREDICT Program and Global Virus Project

The USAID PREDICT program involved identifying viruses with pandemic potential. Contractors funded through this program have included the EcoHealth Alliance, headed by Peter Daszak who, incidentally, in the last year has also gotten into hot water over potential violations of law.

According to Thacker, in early March 2022, Congressional members sent a letter to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), asking the agency to investigate EcoHealth for potential “contract irregularities and anonymous private donations, in violation of federal statute.”

The Global Virome Project was launched to hunt down and catalogue previously unknown viruses around the globe. According to USRTK, the Global Virome Project is currently trying to obtain $1.2 billion to fund the collection and identification of more than 1 million viruses from wildlife, with the goal of predicting which ones might evolve to infect humans.
