Most normal, avg, everyday people hear about shit like this and immediately dismiss it as "heresay bullshit on the internets" because the people with kids this age wouldn't think that something like this is a remote possibility. Even if it is happening, chances are it would be major news overnight, and the community would likely explode in outrage to get the teacher's credentials stripped and charges pressed one way or another. People are way too fucking sue-happy for this not to be the case; especially in a day and age when getting some quick dollars with an easy-to-prove open-shut lawsuit of abuse against someone like this. So again, the question is very valid, and rarely (if never) gets answered.
What's most telling, though, is the reaction/waves being made with places like FL taking a stance on the issue, specifically. Who in the ever-living shit comes out against what should be considered a common-sense approach to setting a boundary on this type of conversation material in the classroom? Like, for many, what would be common sense (don't talk to kids about sex you groomer! That's fucked up!) appears to escape their concept of normality and boundaries of appropriateness. Do people like this really exist? Well, yeah; actually. Does 1 in every 3, 4, 5, or even 9500 classrooms have a teacher that leans in this direction? No. Not at all. As a matter of fact, most educators are people that have either been in that field since their last days in high school/college, or are trusted members of their communities that turned to teaching in their retirement years; often at the behest of other members in the community asking for them to help out.
It is a very recent phenomena that sexual deviants are infiltrating the education system in this country. That's not as to say there hasn't always been the rare "Teacher gets 5 years for inappropriate sexual relations with one of his/her students", but that's just the story of the one student out of 20 or 30 that decided to say something about it for one reason or another. Stuff like that, especially in high schools where teachers are getting right back into the classrooms right after completing the minimal education requirements to teach and are only 4-6 years older than their students, is going to happen. What nobody seems to be standing up and saying, though, is this sort of predatory behavior absolutely does not represent and significant portion of educators in the world, possibly to the tune of 95% or higher.

It takes 5 whole seconds of exposure to a constant heat of 140 degrees in liquid format to cause a third degree burn.
