There isn't a whole lot that one person can do.

But there are things that we can do.

1) Don't buy a house that you can't afford. Buy something small. Mortgage debt is how they get people.

2) If you have a credit card, always pay it off, never pay interest on credit cards.

3) If you have kids in public school, take them out. Find an alternative.

 

So many things are out of our control. So we need to have control over the things that are within our grasp.

Dzhambazki, a nationalist MEP in the ECR group, denies his gesture was a fascist salute, calling the incident a “small misunderstanding” in an email to his colleagues seen by POLITICO. He accused fellow MEPs of “libel and defamation,” arguing that his hand sign, which was captured on camera, was a goodbye signal. “I was in the hemicycle finishing my speech at which admittedly I said something with which many of you disagree thus provoking you. As I was leaving the hemicycle I wanted to apologise … by humbly waving to the chair.”

The scene took place after an intervention by Dzhambazki during a rule-of-law debate in Parliament, following Wednesday’s decision by the EU’s top court to allow the Commission to cut funds to countries that breach rule-of-law standards. Lambasting the ruling, Dzhambazki said it had “nothing to do with law and the rule of law” but “hate for nation states.” He accused the EU of trying to “shame” Hungary and Poland, declaring: “Long live Orbán, Fidesz, Kaczyński, Bulgaria, and our nation state. Metsola confirmed to POLITICO’s Playbook Brussels that she will initiate a sanctions procedure against Dzhambazki. “A fascist salute in the European Parliament is unacceptable to me — here and everywhere,” she said. “We stand for the opposite. We are the House of democracy. That gesture is part of the darkest part of history. Unacceptable.”

Dzhambazki could be sanctioned under Rule 10 of the European Parliament’s rules of procedure which deals with the conduct of MEP and states that members’ conduct should be “based on the values and principles laid down in the Treaties, and particularly in the Charter of Fundamental Rights. Members shall respect Parliament’s dignity and shall not harm its reputation.”

Italian MEP Sandro Gozi, whom Dzhambazki had targeted in the chamber, said: “The mask slips. While the western media quickly jumped from the COVID crisis to the Ukraine crisis, in the background of current events there is a lot of activity amid western government that does not look very democratic. The word ‘autocracy‘, with all its variants, has been used a lot frequently by western government politicians as they attack the ideology of Russia, China and essentially every national leader who does not join their “rules-based order” club….it’s impossible not to see this autocracy narrative as some form of talking point that stemmed from some G7 or NATO collaboration meeting…..

 

Essentially,Bill 100 gives the Canadian government the power to seize your home, finances, bank accounts and assets if you take part in any form of protest that would create economic harm to any loosely defined entity. Protest at the border, lose your house; at least that’s the threat they are about to make into a law.

 

It seems rather incredulous to me that securing a corporate financial interest would override the concerning possibility of forever losing liberty and freedom for the individual citizen. However, in this new post-COVID ‘rules-based order’, that’s the official justification from the Canadian government. Slippery slope and all that accepted, this Ontario Bill 100 is a few slides beyond the slippery.

 

Similar actions are taking place in New Zealand and Australia, where codifying the emergency powers of public health officials post-COVID rules, is at the forefront of their legislative and constitutional reform efforts.

 

Creating new era ‘rules-based democracy’ stuff is filling up the business end of western government attention in Europe, North America and the land down under.

 

But it’s not just Europe, Canada, New Zealand and Australia doing this. In the United States we have a combination of new restrictions on liberty and freedom around emergency health issues in combination with J6 “threat to democracy” outcomes being created.

 

Add it all up, and this new version of western democracy doesn’t look like it is based on the same principles the older version, the non-rules-based version, was using. These new “rules of democracy” are also being overlaid by new rules for discussing democracy as found in the guidelines from the tech overlords.

 

Google just recently announced, in the era post-COVID, they will no longer tolerate content that “makes claims that are demonstrably false and could significantly undermine participation or trust in an electoral or democratic process.”

 

So, if you are to speak against the new “rules of democracy”, or the legislation that is going through the “democratic process” in the EU, NZ, AU, Canada or the United States, you can be targeted by the online Google wrong-think police…

 

If you speak against the newer version of the ‘rules-based order‘, the leaders of western democracies will enjoy protection from the internet police. A rebellious sort, as defined by a person who still thinks independently, might say that sounds almost autocratic or something.

 

There was always a concern that any political leader who granted themselves extreme powers, under the pretense of the pandemic threat,would never want to relinquish that scale of control over their citizens. Indeed, it can be argued we are seeing those concerns come to fruition with supportive action from ruling elites in the various parliamentary and congressional offices.

 

A wise fellow of steward-minded disposition stated today that if U.S. government officials were genuinely concerned about the welfare of Americans, they would immediately be holding legislative sessions to ramp up energy production, cut through regulatory hurdles, lower gasoline prices, seal our borders and prepare our national food stocks for a concerning global food shortage.

 

These new western democracy rules certainly appear to be rules of priority for the few, and not rules that would be a priority for the many. Perhaps that’s the whole point. Maybe that’s the bigger picture.

 

As it appears by action and consequence, this new western, post-COVID, ‘rules-based order’ is focused exclusively on providing benefit for the self-described elites.

 

I wonder what will happen if the many just don’t comply?…

NATO responds to Russian neighbor’s plan to join the bloc

NATO “will warmly welcome” Finland if it decides to join the alliance amid concerns over Russia, and is prepared to make a decision on membership “quite quickly,” Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Friday.

 

Speaking to CNBC, Stoltenberg said that Helsinki’s decision to review its longstanding policy of non-alignment is a “direct result of the war in Ukraine,” as the country “has a very long border with Russia.” He added, however, that it is fully up to the Finns to decide if they should join NATO or not.

 

“We will respect the decision regardless of what the conclusion will be, but if Finland decides to apply for membership, I am confident that NATO allies will warmly welcome them – and we can quite quickly make the decision to have them as a member of the alliance,” he said.

 

Stoltenberg’s remarks came one day after Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto visited Brussels for talks with his counterparts from NATO countries. Speaking to news outlet Iltalehti, Haavisto revealed that the foreign ministers asked him whether Finland and possibly Sweden would submit membership applications before NATO’s summit in June in Madrid. At a press conference, Haavisto, who earlier expressed concerns over potential retaliation from Russia, said theNATO countries have been “very actively” offering Helsinki “both diplomatic and security assistance” for the period of the application process.

 

According to the foreign minister, the Finnish government intends to present a review of how Russia’s military attack on Ukraine impacted the national security situation. Subject to parliamentary support, the ministers are prepared to quickly come up with a NATO membership proposal, Haavisto said.

 

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with Sky News on Thursday that Russia would perceive the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO as “a threat for the whole architecture of security,” and therefore would have “to take additional measures” by making its Western flank “more sophisticated” in terms of security.

 

Recent polls in both Finland and Sweden show that the conflict in Ukraine has dramatically changed public opinion from previous years, with more than 60% of respondents now supporting the idea of membership in NATO.

 

Commenting on the record-high figures, Finnish President Sauli Niinisto stated that the level of support for membership is so high that there would be no need for a referendum. Prime Minister Sanna Marin said Russia’s offensive in Ukraine undermined trust between Helsinki and Moscow in an “irreversible” way.

U.S. pushes Jamaica to extradite Haiti politician suspected in plotting the assassination of President Jovenel Moise

The United States requested the extradition from Jamaica of a former politician allegedly connected to the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse.

Former Haitian Senator John Joel Joseph, whom the Haitian government considers a key suspect in the July 7, 2021 murder of Moïse, was arrested in Jamaica on January 20 after having fled Haiti.

He was with his wife and two sons when they were intercepted in the Jamaican parish of St. Elizabeth.

Joseph has agreed to the extradition, his lawyer Donahue Martin told Reuters in a telephone interview.

A provisional arrest warrant was issued for Joseph on Tuesday as a result of the extradition treaty that exists between the United States and Jamaica, Jamaican Senior Deputy Director of Prosecutions, Jeremy Taylor, revealed during a court hearing Thursday.

The United States has 60 days to provide evidence supporting its request for Joseph's extradition.

Joseph told the court he is concerned about leaving his wife, Edume, and children behind in Jamaica.

The three have an application for asylum that is currently under consideration. Their next appointment is set for April 5 when they will find out if the request for refugee status will be granted.

The United States has become increasingly involved in the investigation of Moise's murder, with key suspects facing the prospect of trial in U.S. courts as a probe by the Caribbean nation's authorities stalls.

Moise was shot dead by assassins armed with assault rifles who stormed his private residence in the hills above Port-au-Prince, sparking a manhunt and investigations across several countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Days after the murder, then-National Police Chief Leon Charles said Joseph was a key player in the plot, saying he supplied weapons and planned meetings.

The Associated Press obtained an unreleased police report in which multiple sources said Joseph had several links to the attack, with at least one identifying him among the leaders of it.

The sources said Joseph paid in cash for rental cars used by the attackers and had met with other suspects ahead of the killing, including Christian Emmanuel Sanon, a Haitian businessman and evangelical pastor who had expressed desire to lead his country.

Associates have suggested that Sanon was duped by the true masterminds of the assassination. He was arrested shortly after the killing.

The report indicated that the former senator introduced other suspects to Joseph Badio, an alleged leader of the plot who previously worked for Haiti's Ministry of Justice and the government's anti-corruption unit until he was fired.

It said phone records show James Solages, a Haitian-American arrested in the case, had a WhatsApp conversation with Joseph regarding preparations for the mission. And it said that Solage told authorities that Joseph, Badio and Rodolphe Jaar - a Haitian citizen and former U.S. government informant arrested January 7 in the Dominican Republic - were among those appointed leaders of the operation.

Jarr was extradited to the United States on January 19.

Former Colombian soldier Mario Antonio Palacios Palacios was the the first person to be formally charged by the U.S. in Moïse's assassination.

Panama turned him over to U.S. authorities on January 4.

He evaded captured after the assassination and fled from Haiti to Jamaica. A Jamaican judge ordered him deported to Colombia, but he was detained in Panama during a layover by U.S. authorities who had been in touch with him while he was still in hiding.

Jarr and Palacios are accused of conspiring to commit murder or kidnapping outside the United States and providing material support resulting in death, knowing or intending that such material support would be used to prepare for or carry out the conspiracy to kill or kidnap.

More than 40 suspects have been arrested in the presidential slaying, including 18 former Colombian soldiers.

France prepares gas rationing

Largest consumers may have to stop operations if supplies from Russia are cut

 

Time for the yellow vests to triple the numbers of citizens revolting against France’s stupid leaders!

 

France is surveying its largest consumers of natural gas to assess which of them would have to suspend normal operations if deliveries of the fuel from Russia are cut. The plan was outlined in a decree published on Friday by the government gazette JORF.

 

The document says the French gas network operator GRTgaz will collect data from the nation’s largest consumers so that the government could decide which of them could be put on pause with the least economic damage. Only entities with annual consumption of at least 5 gigawatt hours are being considered for the chopping block.

 

The survey, which gas consumers must participate in under the threat of being fined, is meant for a scenario in which the supply of Russian gas to France is disrupted. If shortages over the summer leave the country unprepared for the cold season, rationing may be necessary next winter.

 

GRTgaz has said that Russian gas accounts for 17% of the national mix. The network operator stressed that no disruptions have happened so far but that concerns remain, considering the hostilities in Ukraine and the heavy load of liquified natural gas terminals used for seaborne deliveries to Europe.

 

I call on suppliers to fill underground storage as much as possible in order to approach next winter in the best possible conditions,” the network operator’s CEO Thierry Found said.

 

Rationing would be a “measure of last resort,” according to GRTgaz, which would only be used if all other attempts to balance the supply and demand for gas fail. According to the plan, large gas power plants and industrial sites, such as chemical and glass-making factories, would be the first to face restrictions, followed by shopping centers, stadiums and similar non-essential public spaces.

 

European nations pledged to reduce their decades-old dependence on Russian gas in the wake of the country’s military operation against Ukraine that started in late February. In retaliation, the US and its allies seek to hurt Moscow through economic sanctions and to isolate it from international trade.

 

Moscow responded to Western seizure of its foreign reserves denominated in dollars and euros by demanding that “unfriendly nations” pay for natural gas purchases in rubles. European consumers have rejected the demand, stating that it violates the terms of their contracts with Russian gas monopoly Gazprom.

 

Guaranteed Russia is making deals with other countries and will probably replace what they’ve lost; and if and when EU comes begging for gas, Russia will increase the price. Whatever happens. Russia will prevail.

Russia claims to know details of deadly missile strike in Ukraine conflict

 

The projectile that struck a train station was launched by Ukrainian forces from a town southwest of Kramatorsk, Moscow says

 

The Tochka U ballistic missile, which reportedly killed dozens of civilians in the Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk on Friday, came from a town under the control of Ukrainian forces, the Russian Defense Ministry claims.

 

The missile came from the town of Dobropole, around 45km southwest of the city, Moscow stated.

 

The deadly strike hit the main train station in Kramatorsk when an estimated 4,000 people were waiting for evacuation trains there. The latest casualty count by the city administration said 39 people were killed in the incident and 87 were injured.

 

Kramatorsk is a city in the northern part of the Donetsk region, and is claimed by the Donetsk People’s Republic as part of its territory. When hostilities broke out in eastern Ukraine in the wake of the 2014 Maidan coup, the city remained under Kiev’s control.

 

Kiev accused Russia of hitting the station, claiming civilians were targeted deliberately with the intent to kill. President Volodymyr Zelensky said it serves as the latest example that Russia is “evil that knows no boundaries.”

 

Initial claims from Ukrainian officials said an Iskander missile was used, but images of a Tochka U tail part taken at the scene later flooded social media. Kramatorsk Mayor Aleksandr Goncharenko said missile debris was found 40 meters from where most of the damage was done.

 

The Russian Defense Ministry denied any responsibility for the attack. It said that Ukrainian troops must have targeted the station to disrupt the evacuation and keep civilians in the city so that they could be used as human shields during an upcoming fight for it.

 

The ministry claimed that Kiev is the only party in the Ukraine conflict that uses outdated Soviet-made Tochka U missiles. It said that pro-Ukraine accounts on social media claim that Russia has them as well, but the images presented as evidence were taken in Belarus, which does have some Tochka U systems in its arsenal.

 

Belarusian troops test-fired these types of missiles during a joint exercise with Russia in mid-February. Minsk is a close ally of Russia and allowed it to use its territory to launch the offensive in Ukraine, but insisted it did not provide any of its forces for the operation.

The regular employees fight for medical freedom and bodily autonomy was not without bumps along the road.

 

On Jan. 12, Randall Noonan, the same mediator who facilitated the negotiated agreement, denied the three unions that filed grievances for the workers application for “staying, limiting or altering the policy” that threatened the livelihoods of the workers to begin with.

SpaceX is targeting Friday, April 8 for Falcon 9’s launch of Axiom Space’s Ax-1 mission to the International Space Station from historic Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The instantaneous launch window opens at 11:17 a.m. ET, 15:17 UTC, with a backup opportunity available on Saturday, April 9 at 10:54 a.m. ET, 14:54 UTC.

 

This will be the fifth flight for this Falcon 9 first stage booster, which previously supported launch of GPS III Space Vehicle 04, GPS III Space Vehicle 05, Inspiration4, and one Starlink mission. Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage will land on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. The Dragon spacecraft supporting this mission previously flew the Demo-2 and Crew-2 missions.

 

Axiom Space’s Ax-1 mission is the first all-private human spaceflight mission to the International Space Station. The Ax-1 crew will participate in educational outreach and conduct innovative research experiments while on the orbiting laboratory.

So the Biden administration knew it was sending weapons to Ukraine that would be perceived by a nuclear superpower as a provocative escalation, sent them anyway, and then lied about it. Cool, cool, cool.

 

This NBC report confirms rumors we've been hearing for months. Professional war cheerleader Max Boot said via The Council on Foreign Relations think tank in February that the Biden administration had ushered in "a new era of info ops" with intelligence releases designed not to tell the truth but to influence Putin's decisions. Former MI6 chief John Sawers told The Atlantic Council think tank in February that the Biden administration's "intelligence" releases were based more on a general vibe than actual intelligence, and were designed to manipulate rather than to inform.

 

And in case you were wondering, no, NBC did not just publish a major leak…One of the article's authors isKen Dilanian, who in 2014 was revealed to have worked as a literal CIA asset while writing for The LA Times. If you see Dilanian's name in a byline, you may be certain that you are reading exactly what the managers of the US empire want you to read.

 

So why are they telling us all this now?

Is the US government not worried that it will lose the trust of the public by admitting that it is continuously lying about its most high-profile international conflict? The message an indoctrinated NBC viewer will get when watching this segment is, "Isn't this awesome? Our president is pulling off all these cool 3D chess moves to beat Putin, and we're kind of a part of it!"

 

It's been obvious for a long time that the US empire has been working to shore up narrative control to strengthen its hegemonic domination of the planet via internet censorship, propaganda, Silicon Valley algorithm manipulation, and the normalization of the persecution of journalists. We may now simply be at the stage of imperial narrative control where they can begin openlymanufacturing the consent of the public to be lied to for their own good….

Hunter Biden lobbied since-vanished Chinese oil tycoon Ye Jianming to “quickly” wire him $10 million to help establish and fund his failed business venture SinoHawk Holdings in 2017, according to an email obtained by The Post.

 

In the June 18 email, President-elect Joe Biden’s scandal-scarred son sent “best wishes from the entire Biden family” before outlining his expectations for their joint venture.

 

The trove of documents were among more than 900 made public by Hunter Biden’s former business partner Tony Bobulinski, who stepped forward in October with bombshell allegations that Joe Biden was intimately involved in his son’s plans to cash in overseas.

 

In the 2017 email, Biden introduced Ye to Bobulinski, who he said would be acting as CEO of SinoHawk Holdings and was bullish about his ability to invest Ye’s billions in infrastructure projects in countries like Oman and Romania.

 

“Dear Chairman Ye: I hope my letter finds you well. I regret missing you on your last visit to the United States Please accept the best wishes from the entire Biden family as well as my partners,” the letter began.

 

“As you know since our last meeting we have concluded the establishment of SinoHawk Holdings and I look forward to introducing you to Mr. Tony Bobulinski,” he wrote.

“He will act as the CEO of SinoHawk Holdings. He has invested capital all over the world for some of the world’s wealthiest families,” he went on, before asking Ye to send a “$10 MM USD wire.”

 

“I would appreciate if you will send that quickly so we can properly fund and operate Sinohawk. I hope that you are satisfied with the introductions made in Oman and the progress made,” he went on.

 

But Ye’s company, CEFC China Energy Company Limited, never sent the funds and SinoHawk apparently was dissolved around October 2018, according to documents released by Bobulinski.

 

Ye disappeared after being taken into custody by Chinese authorities in early 2018, and CEFC, which was China’s largest private energy company, went bankrupt this year, according to reports.

 

Their venture targeted “key domestic contacts” including New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for potential projects across the country, documents revealed.

 

SinoHawk was a limited liability company that involved Hunter Biden, Bobulinski, Joe Biden’s brother Jim Biden and several other men.

 

They partnered with CEFC on “global and/or domestic” projects involving “infrastructure, energy, financial services and other strategic sectors.”

Last week, Hunter Biden confirmed that he is the subject of a federal tax probe that reportedly involves his murky business deals in Ukraine and China.

 

Emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop, which were first reported on by The Post in October, are reportedly part of that investigation and show how the president-elect’s 50-year-old son tried to profit off his famous father’s office.

 

Joe Biden has resolutely stood behind his son, and on Wednesday told a reporter that Hunter hadn’t done anything wrong.

 

Asked by a Fox News reporter at an event to announce his nomination of Pete Buttigieg as transportation secretary if he was sure of his son’s innocence, Biden said only, “I’m confident.”

Sen. Collins tests positive for COVID-19

 

Republican Sen. Susan Collins (Maine) announced on Thursday that she had tested positive for COVID-19, soon after she was on the Senate floor to vote for the confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.

 

“Senator Collins has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently experiencing mild symptoms. The Senator will isolate and work remotely in accordance with CDC guidelines,” her office said in a statement.

 

Collins was wearing a mask when she was on the floor, among just three Republicans who voted in favor of Jackson’s nomination.

 

Hers is the latest in a series of positive COVID-19 tests that have occurred on Capitol Hill.

 

Earlier Thursday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she also tested positive for the virus and would be isolating.

 

Pelosi was at the White House with President Biden on Wednesday as he signed the Postal Service reform bill, but the White House said Biden tested negative for COVID-19 on Wednesday night.

 

Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Attorney General Merrick Garland, Assistant House Speaker Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) and Rep. Scott Peters (D-Calif.) all tested positive for breakthrough cases of the virus on Wednesday.

 

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Biden was not a close contact of Pelosi’s, per guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

 

“The way a close contact is defined, it’s not arbitrary, it’s not something made up by the White House, its CDC guidelines and how they define it is being within six feet for a cumulative total of 15 minutes over a 24-hour period. They were not,” Psaki said Thursday, when asked about Biden’s interactions with Pelosi.

Conservative pundits on Monday let out a thunderous cheer when billionaire Elon Musk, who claims to oppose Big Tech censorship, bought 10% of Twitter’s public shares, earning him a coveted seat on the controversial social media platform’s board of directors.

The incident happened late on Thursday as Muratov was preparing to travel, by night-train, to Samara, a city in southeastern Russia. The 1,000-kilometer journey takes about 17 hours.

 

Novaya Gazeta “temporarily” suspended its operations on March 28, after receiving a second warning from Russian media regulators for violating the law on "identifying foreign agents."

 

Muratov shared the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize with Filipino activist-journalist Maria Ressa, for what the awarding committee described as their commitment to free speech, “a precondition for democracy and lasting peace.”

 

After Moscow sent troops into Ukraine in February, Muratov said he would donate the money from his prize to a fund for Ukrainian refugees.

Social media behemoth Meta is reportedly considering rolling out a digital currency, the Financial Times revealed on Wednesday, years after the company’s initial efforts to create a cryptocurrency called Libra ran around on a combination of stifling regulations and user distrust.

 

Despite the collapse of its planned cryptocurrency Diem – formerly known as Libra – Meta has not given up on its plans to muscle into the financial services sector, with internal sources suggesting the company has plans to roll out a whole suite of virtual coins, tokens, and even business lending services.

 

Subsidiary Meta Financial Technologies is said to be “exploring the creation of a virtual currency for the metaverse,” something employees have begun referring to as “Zuck Bucks,” company sources told FT. But rather than previous efforts to enter the cryptocurrency world, Meta employees are reportedly seeking out the least-regulated form of digital currency, FT’s sources revealed, indicating it was giving the blockchain a wide berth.

 

Rather than debuting ‘Zuck Bucks’ as a blockchain-based crypto, the company will likely begin with in-app tokens it can totally control, perhaps building on its existing non-blockchain peer-to-peer payment system Facebook Pay, the sources indicated. Stephane Kasriel, the head of the finance division for Meta, wrote in a January memo that the company was working on “accelerat[ing]” investments in facilitating payments within its encrypted messenger subsidiaries WhatsApp and Messenger, “helping creators monetize their activity” via NFTs and other means, and potentially merging Facebook Pay with Novi, another wallet app which was initially developed to hold Meta’s Libra/Diem coin before that project collapsed.

 

Efforts to stitch Meta’s blockchain wallet back together hope to see it function as a one-stop shop for “payments, identity and digital assets management within the [family of apps] and over time to other apps/sites,” the memo reveals, hinting at a model similar to the World Economic Forum’s Known Traveler Digital Identity – itself the subject of feverish speculation regarding central bank digital currencies, digital ID systems, health passports, and other dystopian-sounding structures.

 

Perhaps more ominously, given the many trust issues the company has run into with its users over the years,Meta is mulling over the creation of “reputation tokens,” which would be distributed to preferred users as a reward for what the company might consider pro-social behavior – acts like contributing “meaningfully” to Facebook groups or attaining “influencer” status on Instagram.

Democratic Rep. Ami Bera of California says he was attacked by a rogue fox outside the US Capitol.

Bera got 7 shots out of an abundance of caution. "Rabies is not something you wanna fool around with," he said.

Known as the "Senate fox," the critter was later captured by Capitol Police on Tuesday.

 

Democratic Rep. Ami Bera of California said on Tuesday that he was the victim of an "unprovoked" attack by a fox outside of the US Capitol on Monday evening.

 

Bera said the attack occurred in the park area just north of the Capitol by Russell Senate Office Building,

 

"I was just walking, as I often would, over by that park," the congressman explained to Insider and a group of other reporters. "I felt something lunge — totally unprovoked — at the back of my leg."

 

Bera added that it "felt like a small dog" had attacked.

 

"I don't know if it actually penetrated my skin or not, but you can see the bite marks in the back of my pants," he said.

 

Bera said that despite the lack of clarity on whether the wild animal had managed to break his skin, the Attending Physician's office recommended that he undergo medical treatment for the bite out of an abundance of caution.

 

"Rabies is not something you wanna fool around with," Bera said.

 

Bera described receiving 7 different shots at Walter Reed Medical Center, including several doses of immunoglobulin to treat the potential infection, followed by a tetanus shot and starting the rabies vaccination series.

 

"It's five shots of immunoglobulin," he explained. "So, two around the ankle — where maybe it grazed me — one in the thigh, one on both buttocks, tetanus shot in the shoulder, rabies shot in the right arm."

 

Bera said he was sore Monday night, but "took some ibuprofen before I went to bed and I was fine this morning."

 

"It's a series of four shots," he said of the rabies vaccine, explaining that his next three shots would come "on day three, on day seven, on day 14."

 

Capitol Police later captured the critter dubbed by Twitter users as the "Senate fox."

Relocation plans for the fox remained unclear as of Tuesday afternoon.

 

"It's important to, again, take wild animal bites, or potential bites, seriously," Bera added.

 

Before the Senate fox ran around Capitol Hill, the most recent incident involving a wild animal in the nation's capital was back in October 2020, when a raccoon launched a pre-dawn attack against a CNN reporter outside the White House

Most normal, avg, everyday people hear about shit like this and immediately dismiss it as "heresay bullshit on the internets" because the people with kids this age wouldn't think that something like this is a remote possibility. Even if it is happening, chances are it would be major news overnight, and the community would likely explode in outrage to get the teacher's credentials stripped and charges pressed one way or another. People are way too fucking sue-happy for this not to be the case; especially in a day and age when getting some quick dollars with an easy-to-prove open-shut lawsuit of abuse against someone like this. So again, the question is very valid, and rarely (if never) gets answered.

 

What's most telling, though, is the reaction/waves being made with places like FL taking a stance on the issue, specifically. Who in the ever-living shit comes out against what should be considered a common-sense approach to setting a boundary on this type of conversation material in the classroom? Like, for many, what would be common sense (don't talk to kids about sex you groomer! That's fucked up!) appears to escape their concept of normality and boundaries of appropriateness. Do people like this really exist? Well, yeah; actually. Does 1 in every 3, 4, 5, or even 9500 classrooms have a teacher that leans in this direction? No. Not at all. As a matter of fact, most educators are people that have either been in that field since their last days in high school/college, or are trusted members of their communities that turned to teaching in their retirement years; often at the behest of other members in the community asking for them to help out.

 

It is a very recent phenomena that sexual deviants are infiltrating the education system in this country. That's not as to say there hasn't always been the rare "Teacher gets 5 years for inappropriate sexual relations with one of his/her students", but that's just the story of the one student out of 20 or 30 that decided to say something about it for one reason or another. Stuff like that, especially in high schools where teachers are getting right back into the classrooms right after completing the minimal education requirements to teach and are only 4-6 years older than their students, is going to happen. What nobody seems to be standing up and saying, though, is this sort of predatory behavior absolutely does not represent and significant portion of educators in the world, possibly to the tune of 95% or higher.

 

So what in the actual fuck is going on, here?
