Role Model is back with playful new single 'if jesus saves, sheโs my type'
BY JONATHAN ROBLES FEBRUARY 18, 2022
Following previous singles such as "death wish" and "forever&more," Tucker Pillsbury (aka Role Model) is back with another tongue-in-cheek offering.
This time, it's his cleverly titled new track "if jesus saves, she's my type." It's a playful new track which comes with the news of his long-awaited debut album Rx, which is coming April 8, just before he takes the stage for another debut, performing at Coachella, which is making a comeback after its two-year hiatus.
The song plays with the idea of the many religious parallels in the way some find "God." To Role Model, God is a woman, more specifically the girl he fell in love with during one of the lowest points in his life.
In the accompanying video, Pillsbury is a small-town pastor who is convinced he has found God in the shape of a beautiful girl wearing a short denim shirt and hoop earrings. She walks in as a metaphorical Jesus.
