The Queen has held two virtual audiences from Windsor Castle a week after she cancelled engagements due to testing positive for Covid-19.

The monarch spoke to foreign diplomats after postponing a number of similar engagements last week.

She tested positive for the virus on 20 February. At the time Buckingham Palace she was experiencing “mild cold like symptoms”.

On Tuesday she received His Excellency Mr Carles Jordana Madero, who presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as ambassador from the Principality of Andorra to the Court of St James’s.

“Thank you, Vice President Biden,” Obama said as he started his remarks, smirking.

“That was a joke,” he clarified as the crowd laughed. “That was all set up. My president, Joe Biden.”

The former president said it was “good to be back in the White House” and noted several changes from the last time he was there.

“I heard some changes had been made by the current president,” Obama said. “Apparently, Secret Service agents have to wear aviator glasses now. The Navy mess [hall] has been replaced by a Baskin-Robbins.”
