IMHO, this is "the problem" with publicly owned companies. Their Prime Duty is to earn profit for the shareholders, even unto the detriment of their "customers". Every startup in SV starts with a goal of doing "something awesome" for their customers, but then gets $$ dollar signs in their eyes from an IPO offering…and all their dreams get chucked out the window in favor of doing purely "profitable" work. As they say, no one can serve two masters.

You should probably reconsider this. The Bible comes directly from Men. The Books of the Bible come directly from Men. The stories that inspired the books that comprise the Bible come directly from Men. The Publishers of the collected works of men, were men. While They may have been "inspired" by a god to tell their stories, those stories are much further from a "direct" connection to a god than the Life & Liberty We are born with and the planet that We find ourselves living on.
"The Churches" are an entity of power, and have been used by TPTB to control humanity for thousands of years. It's not surprising to see "a believer" like Flynn suggest using them to prop up an agenda and drive a narrative…that's what they literally exist for; beyond profiting the priest class.
