Slava-class Cruiser

 

Possibly designed as a less-expensive complement to the massive Kirov class battlecruisers, the Slavas are primarily surface action vessels, designated by the Soviets as missile cruisers. These ocean-going warships possess great anti-ship, anti-aircraft and anti-submarine capability. These cruisers were designed to operate in battlegroups and travel over significant ranges.

 

Their primary weapons are 16 P-500 Bazalt (SS-N-12 or Sandbox) anti-ship missiles. These missiles have a range of 550 km and carry a 1 000 kg high explosive or warhead or nuclear warhead with a yield of 350 kT.

 

These warships are fitted with S-300F Fort long-range air defense system (naval version of the S-300). There are 64 launchers with missiles.

 

The Slava class cruisers are fitted with ten 533 mm torpedo tubes for heavy torpedoes that can be launched against hostile ships and submarines.

 

There is a landing spot and hangar for a single Ka-27 naval helicopter.

 

There have been reports that the Slavas were built with large quantities of flammable material, and their damage control systems were poorly designed.

 

Moskva was in refit through most of the 1990s, returning to become flagship of the Black Sea Fleet. The second unit, Marshal Ustinov, commissioned in 1986, serves with the Northern fleet. It has been in overhaul since the mid-1990s. Overhaul completed in 2016. Varyag (formerly the Chervona Ukraina) was commissioned into the Pacific Fleet in 1989. Due to limited funding since 1990 it operated at reduced readiness. Its overhaul was completed in 2008. The fourth unit was launched in 1990 as the Admiral Lobov, but was transferred incomplete to the Ukrainian Navy. Renamed Ukraina, it was planned to become the Ukrainian fleet flagship, but was never completed due to limited funding. For a number of years this 4th ship of the class is awaiting for its disposal.

Anon asked a business colleague a few questions about being on lockdown in Shanghai. Will summarize:

 

-For the first week or so they had government food boxes being delivered. Like most people, she lives in one of those large condo complexes (actually a smaller one, about 10k people).

 

-Govt. food boxes no longer available. There are shops on the ground level of the buildings, but these are closed. However the shop owners will still cook and are allowed to deliver food. So the residents have formed a Wechat group to organize orders for their daily meals.

 

-The stories about taking Covid-positive children away are 'unfortunately true' according to her. Same with the pet killings. She said they have to just learn to accept it and hope for it to be over quickly (!). I'm not sure if she is a mother.

 

-She confirmed that the actual number of Covid deaths are very low, in the hundreds. She confirmed they get tested every day. She doesn't understand the concept of 'asymptomatic', and doesn't believe it.

 

-Without saying so directly, she implied that she knows all of this is bullshit, but they just have to get through it.

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has welcomed nearly 10,000 Ukrainians at the United States-Mexico border since the beginning of February with plans to lure even more to the U.S.

 

From February 1 to April 6, internal DHS data published by CBS News reveals that the Biden administration is increasing its so-called “processing” of Ukrainians at the border.

 

Effectively, Ukrainians with no ties to the U.S. or immigration documents are set for release into the U.S. interior while awaiting asylum hearings. In addition, tens of thousands of Ukrainians have arrived on visas from February 1 to April 6.

 

CBS News reports:

 

Between February 1 and April 6, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported encountering 9,926 Ukrainians who lacked legal documentation needed to enter the country, the unpublished agency statistics show. On April 6 alone, 767 Ukrainian migrants were processed by CBP. [Emphasis added]

Between February 1 and April 6, CBP also reported 41,074 “legal entries” of Ukrainians who had permission to enter the U.S., which can include visas the U.S. awards to short-term travelers, including tourists, or immigrants allowed to live in the U.S. permanently, the internal agency data show. To entice more Ukrainians, Biden is reportedly creating a new parole program, similar to the one created for Afghans last year, that will allow nationals fleeing to arrive in American communities with only an application filed by a person already in the U.S.

The new parole program, which could start as early as next week, is expected to help people interested in coming to the US and allow them to stay in the country temporarily. According to one administration official, individuals would need to have a sponsorship application filled out on their behalf by someone in the US in order to come to the country. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Even after two men were found dead in his California apartment, Ed Buck did not stop injecting gay men with walloping doses of methamphetamine.

Federal prosecutors said Buck's unrelenting fervor to satisfy a fetish by preying on vulnerable men, often young and Black, is reason enough to keep him behind bars for the rest of his life.

Buck, 67, a big dollar donor to Democratic, LGBTQ and animal rights causes, faces sentencing Thursday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles for providing fatal doses of drugs, operating a drug den and enticing men to travel for prostitution.

“Buck used his money and privilege to exploit the wealth and power imbalances between himself and his victims, who were unhoused, destitute, and/or struggling with addiction,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Chelsea Norell said in a court filing. “He spent thousands of dollars on drugs and party and play sessions that destroyed lives and bred insidious addictions.”

Defense lawyers are asking a judge to be more lenient because Buck was sexually abused as a child and developed his drug addiction as the result of a medical condition.

Attorneys Mark Werksman and Elizabeth Little said the judge should go below the 25-year sentence recommended by probation officials that would allow rehabilitation and treatment and “would be much preferable to relegating him to death in prison.”

Probation officials also recommended a $1 million fine, though prosecutors said it should be $400,000 to leave money for lawsuits filed by the families of his survivors.

Buck, a wealthy white man who worked as a male model and then made a small fortune selling an Arizona company he rescued from bankruptcy, helped lead a 1987 campaign to recall Republican Arizona Gov. Evan Mecham, who was ultimately convicted in an impeachment trial and kicked out of office.

Buck retired at 32 to the city of West Hollywood, known for its large LGBTQ community, where he lived in a rent-controlled apartment and donated over $500,000 to mostly Democratic causes since 2000.

His troubles began when Gemmel Moore was found dead in his apartment on July 27, 2017. Buck had flown Moore from Texas that morning for drug use and he was dead by sunset.

Moore's mother, LaTisha Nixon, said in a letter to the court that she hoped Buck would get the maximum term for ruining her life and the hurt it has caused her family. Nixon, a certified nursing assistant, said she could not comfort her son the way she has for countless dying people.

“All I can think about is how my son died naked on a mattress with no love around him,” Nixon said. “No one to hold his hand or tell him good things.”

Community members and activists rallied outside Buck's apartment, calling for his arrest, but he remained free. Family members and Jasmyne Cannick, a political strategist, complained that Buck escaped prosecution because of wealth, political ties and race.

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has signed the New Mexico Opportunity Scholarship Act into law, which provides scholarships covering tuition and fees at the state's public higher education institutions.

The law extends to illegal immigrants, The New York Times reports, in addition to prison inmates and students from "tribal nations" that extend beyond state borders.

"A fully funded Opportunity Scholarship opens the door for every New Mexican to reach higher, strengthening our economy, our families and our communities,” Lujan Grisham said in a press release.

The New York Times reports that the program will cost $75 million for the 2023 fiscal year, with "$63 million com[ing] from pandemic relief funds."

Fed Governor Christopher Waller appeared on CNBC to announce we have reached peak inflation, and things will moderate from here. All of these fed moves are political moves, not monetary policy-based moves. Here’s the thing they will never admit to the non-institutional investor.

 

The fed has been painfully slow to raise interest rates on purpose. They did not make a mistake. The reason for their delay is they needed to wait for the beginning of the first 2021 inflation wave to cycle through before they raised interest rates. It’s a game of mirrors that almost no one sees. WATCH:

 

The rate of inflation will drop once the statistical year-over-year comparisons reach the same moment in the prior year. The fed will raise interest rates in May and then use the June inflation rate decline as a false talking point to highlight how their policy is working. They wait for May, because they need to wait for the calendar, nothing else. Inflation is measured as the percentage of change from the prior year. By waiting until the inflation is measured against the first wave of rising prices, it will give the illusion of a decline in inflation.

 

So that’s why they waited. But here’s the worse part….

 

All of these U.S. Fed monetary policymakers are in full ideological alignment with the global and central bankers.They are all following the same Build Back Better agenda and policy instructions.

 

All of bankers know the shift from ‘dirty energy’, coal, oil, natural gas, will create inflation. All of the bankers know there is no economic bridge within the plan to shift from oil to their unicorn dust. All of the bankers know that shutting down oil exploration as a matter of western unified policy will, as a factual matter, destroy the economic systems that rely on energy….. which is to say everything.

 

All of these bankers know the severity of the inflation crisis this energy shift creates. None of them do not know.

Producer Price Index Sets New Record at 11.2 Percent Wholesale Inflation, Highest Rate Ever Recorded

The “Producer Price Index” (PPI) is essentially the tracking of wholesale prices at three stages: Origination (commodity), Intermediate (processing), and then Final (to wholesale). Today, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) released March price data [Available Here] showing a dramatic 11.2% increase year-over-year in Final Demand products at the wholesale level. This is the fifth consecutive month with the highest rate of inflation the PPI ever recorded.

 

The single month increase in wholesale prices of 2.3% was driven by inflation built into the supply chain at every level that shows up in the final wholesale price. Those price increases then get passed along to consumers along with the additional costs for warehousing, transportation and delivery. I modified Table-A (FINAL DEMAND) to take out some of the noise..

 

♦BOTTOM LINE – We have not yet reached PEAK INFLATION– However, the price increases from wholesalers to retailers are now at parity. The increased price of things coming into the supply chain are now at similar rates of increase when compared to the stuff on the shelves.

 

Inflation from field to fork is now fully matriculated and embedded in the total economy as a result of two massive price waves (July to October 2021 and November to March 2022). Those prices will never fall.

 

Highly consumable goods like food, fuel and energy will remain at approximately the price today for a period of around five months, then we will see the third wave kick in as the new higher harvest prices hit the processors in late summer.

 

The prices for non-essential durable goods, like cars, electronics, appliances etc. from this moment forth will now be determined by demand. Highly sought after goods will increase in price as more customers chase fewer products. However, ordinary or widely available durable goods will likely start to come down in price very soon as inventories climb because consumer spending has prioritized and dropped non essential goods from their shopping lists.

 

To put it more succinctly:The stuff we need will cost more. The stuff we don’t need will cost less.

This guy is such a profound manipulator it is almost sickening. After the 2008 election, the Democrats had a 60-seat majority. A veto-proof majority. Mitch was the minority with 40 Republican senators in January 2009. It was the Tea Party that changed it all around, starting with Scott Brown in December of 2009.

 

In the specific races McConnell points out in 2010 and 2012 were races where the Tea Party base of the GOP actually produced more seats for the Republicans, culminating in a successful majority reestablished in the Senate in 2014. True the Vote worked through a painstakingly massive data file (2 petabytes) of cell phone use to identify “ballot mules,” people who were paid by political activist groups to gather massive numbers of mail-in ballots, take them to a central facility and then drop them off in various ballot collection boxes in specific states, specific counties and approximately 71 specific precincts. The trackable cell phone data was then matched with CCTV records to identify and document the ballot harvesting activity that took place.

 

The results of the data were shared with various public officers, state and federal law enforcement in an effort to document the potentially unlawful activity. Unfortunately, the political clubs (RNC and DNC) have largely ignored the story and avoided participating in any process that would use the information to bolster security efforts for the 2022 election. Any pre-selected cell phone that tripped the created electronic fence, would then ping the feds. The cell phone would be matched to the physical identity of the owner, and that explains the speed of the feds to identify their J6 targets.

Trump joins Biden in calling Russia’s war on Ukraine ‘genocide’

 

Former President Trump joined President Biden in calling Russia’s war in Ukraine a “genocide” during an interview with Fox News on Wednesday night.

 

While Trump was slamming Biden for policies he said have led to record high inflation, he said, “And now add to that what’s going on in Ukraine. That’s a genocide.”

 

The comment comes a day after Biden accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of genocide on Tuesday.

 

“Your family budget, your ability to fill up your tank, none of it should hinge on whether a dictator declares war and commits genocide half a world away,” Biden said.

 

Biden later affirmed his belief that Putin’s actions constitute genocide during an exchange with reporters but said his lawyers would make the ultimate determination.

 

“It’s become clearer and clearer that Putin is just trying to wipe out the idea of being Ukrainian,” Biden said. “The evidence is mounting.”

 

Trump, who boasts of a close personal relationship with Putin, had previously called Russia’s invasion a “holocaust.”
