I got a US made AK-47… a pretty damn sweet looking one with a foldable stock, from Palmetto State Armory for the same price. The AR system was just too many damn options for my brain, and I'm lazy and Florida isn't kind to guns, so I wanted something that would fire no matter what condition it was in.

I did bunches of bunches of research. I agree milled is much better than stamped, but this is no get another gun gun. you should look into the PSAK.
And on Ammoseek right now, 762 39 is a nickel cheaper than 223, and that's steel… with those tight ass specs, can ARs even fire steel? If so, I'm still saving $50 on 1000 rounds.

If I run outta the 10k rounds I have I got bigger things to worry about than ammo. Just saying. I'm happy with my purchase. You do you.
If and when that happens I'll have enough on my plate to worry about then. We can't protect ourselves from everything. All we can do is the best we can do and I can think of 1000 things I need to prepare for that involve me being near my ammo and take concrete steps to prepare myself for that situation. I have skills that I can use to my advantage should I find myself in another situation where I'm not near my ammo. In my world, for me, right now, having a gun with ammo I could afford to buy and buy 10k rounds of ammo for that will still fire if I leave it sit in a closet for 5 years in the Florida moisture is WAY more important than choosing a gun based on the ammo available in a SHTF scenario that separates me from my gun. Gotta go back to work. you can keep on if it makes you feel better, but you won't be talking to me about it anymore.
