Interesting. I didn't take it that way. As a sidebar, I don't know about 'forever', but I have less of a problem with extending life beyond "normal" assuming there is quality of life to be had with it - first and foremost of that would be mental faculties (which I'll assume is possible).
As for the the evils of transhumanism, I think it is wildly satanic ''if'' someone is trying to control it - either via access or route. The example that comes to mind is a Microsoft version of transhumanistic life.
However, I conversely think an opensource path (analogous to Linux) is not Luciferian. In thinking it through a bit, the defining trait that qualifies for evil in this case is centralized control.
