Several explosions were heard near the building of the Ministry of State Security in Tiraspol. According to Sputnik Moldova, traffic in the area is blocked.

It is reported that in the windows of nearby houses damaged glass. Judging by the photos from the scene, a part of the ammunition lies next to the MGB building. Presumably, we are talking about a tube from an anti-tank grenade launcher.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said that Russia does not see any risks of escalation of the situation in Transnistria. According to him, Moscow still stands for a peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian problem. It should be resolved "with respect for the territorial integrity of Moldova and the special status of this region in its composition."

3/ I think the court is misunderstanding the concession here. There is a difference between saying I'm not doing to show there is a link, and saying we agree there is no link or agreeing we won't imply there actually was a link, but we'll see how Durham handles this.

4/ I think Durham was making a more nuanced argument than the court got. That there is a difference between saying the data was falsified (i.e. challenging the accuracy of the data) and saying the data does not show a link.

5/ Durham allowed to put on evidence of FBI's conclusions and steps.

6/ Alfa Bank and other represents cannot testified though:

7/ Nor can CIA testify "extensively" about it's same investigation.

8/ Court then gives Sussmann a heads up on what might open the door. The court's ruling here is very "hedgey" i.e., "length and complex"

9/ DOJ's expert can testify on three specific rulings.

10/ But can't testify about accuracy of data unless Sussmann opens door.

11/Overall a victory for Durham, with Sussmann not getting anything of value excluded, and at trial much may end up in based on what Sussmann does.

12/ I do think there is one disconnect between the court and the parties though: I think Sussmann wants to argue there could have been a secret communications channel between Alfa Bank & Trump. I don't have the transcript (if anyone has posted, please let me know), but I think

13/ Sussmann's team said basically, weren't not conceding there was no channel and that they implied they would suggest that there is still possibility that a channel existed. And that is why Durham wants to show no, there is no channel.

'Washington Crossing the Delaware' that hung in the White House up for auction at Christie's in May

The famous "Washington Crossing the Delaware" painting, which hung in the White House from the 1970s to 2014, is coming up for auction next month, when it is estimated to fetch about $20 million.

The 1851 oil painting is one of three versions painted by Emanuel Leutze of the man who was to be the first US President leading troops during a key moment of the American revolution. Only two survived.

The first version was destroyed during a World War II air raid in Germany, said American Art specialist Paige Kestenman at Christie's New York.

"The second is the monumental work that is the centerpiece of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's American Wing, and the third is this work right here," said Kestenman.

The version at New York's Met measures 12.4 x 21.25 feet (3.78 x 6.48 meters). The painting up for sale on May 12 is smaller – about 3 x 6 feet. It had hung for decades in the White House, mainly in the West Wing reception room.

The work depicts George Washington leading soldiers across the Delaware River to surprise the infantry hiding on the other side on Christmas Night, 1776, Kestenman said.

"A German-born American immigrant, Leutze was also a staunch abolitionist and in 'Washington crossing the Delaware' he deliberately included a variety of the figures that make up the melting pot that formed the American nation," said Kestenman.

She pointed out a Black soldier, another soldier wearing a Scottish bonnet, and moccasins and buckskin clothing suggesting the American West and Native Americans.

A New York judge on Monday held former President Donald Trump in contempt, and fined him $10,000 per day, for failing to comply with a subpoena requiring he turn over documents to investigators conducting a sprawling financial fraud probe for New York Attorney General Letitia James.

"Mr. Trump, I know you take your business seriously, and I take mine seriously, I hereby hold you in civil contempt and fine you $10,000 a day," said New York Supreme Court judge Arthur Engoron.

James' office asked for the contempt finding after Trump failed to meet a court-ordered March 31 deadline to turn over subpoenaed material, claiming he had none of the documents demanded in the civil probe.

Prosecutors filed 10 charges against the organization, alleging that it had conducted a "15 year 'scheme to defraud' the government", and 15 felony counts against longtime chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg. A second grand jury was convened in October 2021. In February 2022, the organization and Weisselberg filed motions asking that the criminal case be dismissed, alleging that it was based on political bias. A trial is tentatively scheduled for August or September.

In November 2021, The Washington Post reported that between 2011 and 2015, the organization presented several properties as being worth far more to potential lenders than to tax officials; in 2012, it cited the 40 Wall Street building as being worth over $500 million more to the former than to the latter. In response to New York AG Letitia James's subpoenas of Donald Trump and his two oldest children in the civil matter, Trump's legal team sued the AG, filed a motion seeking a stay of proceedings against her, and asked for the subpoenas to be "quashed", alleging political bias. On February 17, 2022, a New York judge ruled in favor of James's subpoenas. Appellate arguments are expected to be held in May or June.
