Reminds me of the eternal struggle between the urges of 'tradition' (conservative, tried-and-true, 'using what works') on the one hand,
and of innovation ('liberal', 'new-and-improved' fixing-the-broken') on the other.
Both sides are at certain times absolutely necessary, and either side can be disastrously inappropriate on other occasions.
True wisdom is seeing the UNIQUE SITUATION of the moment clearly and without prejudice, and then choosing a response that brings about the best possible long-term outcome for us all.
