My kids are adults now. But i would never have let them have a phone at 8. Way too young. And most parents today are obsessed with themselves and don't invest enough time into their children. They use TV and internet like a babysitter. In my house there is one TV. It's in a room we nearly never use. We watch Survivor and some movies. But hardly ever. Once every 2 weeks maybe. No TVs in any other part of the house.
