The US has asked that the media not be present when the hearing on the ownership of the superyacht Amadea takes place – DPP’s Office

“The DPP sought orders that Amadea be restrained from leaving Fijian waters until the finalisation of an application to register a warrant to seize the vessel and that a US warrant to seize M/Y Amadea also be registered.”

The vessel was detained in Fiji until the Fijian Public Prosecuter would file a warrant to seize the vessel. And the US have also filed a warrant to seize the vessel.

However to seize any property they have to prove it was purchased with illegal funds.

Feizal Haniff, is a Fijian lawyer who represents Millemarin Investment Limited, the business which the superyacht is registered to, and he has filed an affidavit in the Civil High Court of Suva showing a trail of the ownership of the Russian superyacht, Amadea.
