To be fair however,

those "young girls" were already well trained in the adult nature of keeping a home by that age.

They were already cooks,

laundresses,

helping to raise other children in the family,

working in the fields,

etc.

Modern society keeps people in the childhood stage well beyond their twenties,

and even beyond that as the years pass.

That is in Daniel.

The context is about how the prophecy given to Daniel would become apparent as history would unfold:

4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” Dan. 12

Since those prophecies were foretelling the civilizations before the first advent of Christ,

the book would be "unsealed" as those civilizations came and went.

The "time of the end" was the object toward which those things were being unfolded:

Christ's first advent.

Additionally, As each civilization came and went…..

the Chaldean, the Persian, the Greek, the Roman (when Christ's first advent occurred),

Mankind's knowledge increasing with the spread of their civilizations through contact with other cultures.
