Antifa Extremists Attack GOP Candidate Rally in Portland

A rally for an Oregon gubernatorial candidate was violently interrupted by Antifa extremists in Portland this past Saturday. Stan Pulliam, a GOP candidate running for governor, was holding a rally in Portland which emphasized a pro-law enforcement message when extremists showed up to disrupt the peaceful assembly. Over the past several years, Portland has become a haven for the extremist group. During the summer of 2020, Antifa extremists were largely responsible for most of the property damage done in the city, as well as many injuries and several deaths.

At this weekend’s rally, scores of black-clad extremists swarmed the rally and began throwing smoke bombs. They then smashed car windows and dented vehicles with blunt objects while demanding rally goers leave the park.

According to Pulliam, the mayor of the town of Sandy, the rally had been going as planned for less than 15 minutes until black-clad extremists showed up and began being disruptive. “Of course, less than 15 minutes in, we’re greeted by Antifa, showing up with firecrackers that they’re throwing at us, paint, feces all over our campaign [signs], our campaign bus completely destroyed…,” Pulliam told Fox News.

According to the candidate, Portland’s understaffed police department was slow to arrive and restore order. “We called the police, we called 911,” he said. “In fact, at the Justice of Peace Center, we were just outside of their headquarters, sat on hold for over 20 minutes. No police officers ever arrive until the very end, just to take our statement,” Pulliam added.

In what has long been a reliably liberal state, some polls show that the gubernatorial race could be very competitive in Oregon. According to a Morning Consult poll, Kate Brown is America’s least popular governor. Brown currently holds an approval rating of 41% and a disapproval rating of 54%.

Many Oregon residents have cited crime and homelessness as Brown’s weakest areas. A poll conducted by Oregon Public Broadcasting indicated that these two issues are front and center, along with a general dissatisfaction with “government and leadership”.

Antifa’s presence continues to remind voters in Oregon that crime is still a major issue in the state, and especially in Portland. Portland’s leftist mayor and prosecutors have seemingly done little to keep their city safe from the extremist group. Brown has also continuously covered for the violent far-left group. During the height of the rioting in 2020, Brown blamed “armed white supremacists” for the violence and property damage. She called out right-wing group Patriot Prayer but would not call out Antifa.

63 Potential Leakers, Calls Grow to ‘Figure out Who Is Responsible’ for SCOTUS Leak

Supreme Court justices should immediately issue their official opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson, following the bombshell leak of a draft opinion in the case that would overturn Roe v. Wade, according to a key figure in recent major congressional judicial battles.

The leaked draft indicates five justices agreed, at least as of the February date of the draft, in deciding Dobbs v. Jackson to undo the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. Doing so would return the power to decide abortion policy to state governments. The result would be that abortions become generally available in some states and much less available, or perhaps not at all, in other states.

“Over the past several years, we have watched the radical Left become increasingly brazen in their attempts to delegitimize and bully our nation’s highest court. This unprecedented leak is a stunning, shameful, and likely illegal attempt to obstruct the Court’s deliberations on a pending case, and it puts the lives of the Justices in danger,” Article III Project (A3P) Founder and Director Mike Davis said.

“To prevent any further harm, the Court must issue its decision immediately, and an investigation must be launched to determine who is responsible,” Davis added in a statement issued shortly after Politico published the draft opinion.

Davis was Chief Counsel for Nominations for then-Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and led the Republican staff during the Senate confirmation battles for Justice Brett Kavanaugh and a record number of U.S. Circuit Court judges nominated by former President Donald Trump.

Davis founded A3P as a non-profit advocate for “constitutionalist judges and the rule of law.”

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts should not hesitate to ask the FBI to investigate the leak and to help in an overall assessment of the third branch’s internal security management capabilities, Heritage Foundation Senior Legal Fellow Hans von Spakovsky told The Epoch Times.

“The Chief Justice should immediately ask the FBI to investigate this shocking breach of the confidentiality of the work done by the Court. It could not function without that confidentiality, any more than a law firm could function if it had law clerks who leaked the firm’s internal communications, work product, and privileged materials,” von Spakovsky said.

Asked if the High Court should establish a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), a “safe room” with limited and supervised access for the law clerks who do much of the research and opinion drafting for the nine justices, the Heritage constitutional law expert said, “Roberts, as part of his investigation to find out who did this, needs to get recommendations from the Marshal of the Court and the FBI on anything that can be done to strengthen the security protocols of the court. I don’t know if they need to go to a SCIF-like safe room, but they clearly need recommendations from their security people on what can be done to prevent this.”

‘Half-Baked’: DHS Admitted Some Stunning Details About Its ‘Disinformation’ Board To Congress

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told congressional staffers that the agency’s Disinformation Governance Board lacks a charter and has yet to hold its first meeting.

The board has come under scrutiny, with members of Congress fearing that it could infringe on the rights of American citizens.

Conservatives, including Republican lawmakers, are also concerned with DHS’ pick to lead the board, Nina Jankowicz, who has spread misinformation herself.

One congressional staffer described the board as “half-baked,” adding that DHS seemed to have gotten “ahead of themselves when they mentioned this in the secretary’s testimony.”

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told congressional staffers Friday that its Disinformation Governance Board had yet to hold its first meeting, according to two congressional staffers familiar with the discussion, who spoke with the Daily Caller News Foundation.

One congressional staffer told the DCNF that the board appeared “half-baked” and said DHS seemed to have gotten “ahead of themselves when they mentioned it in the secretary’s testimony.” DHS also admitted the board lacks a charter during Friday’s call, the two congressional staffers told the DCNF.

The congressional staffers elected to speak on background, with one telling us they don’t want to compromise their ability to work with DHS, and the other telling us their office only confirms details of this nature on background.

The board is new under the Biden administration, according to the aforementioned staffer who said DHS doesn’t “really have direction for this board.” The staffer also said Nina Jankowicz, the head of the board, kept referring to the board as “visionary,” adding that it appeared that there’s “no concrete structure to it yet.”

Jankowicz has recently come under scrutiny for having a history of promoting misinformation, such as discrediting the Hunter Biden laptop story

The staffer said they requested a copy of the charter and that DHS agreed to share it when it’s ready. The board is also looking to add two co-chairs to work under Jankowicz, according to the staffer.

The other staffer told the DCNF that they were told the board hasn’t met yet and hasn’t approved a charter.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told lawmakers on April 27 that the agency had formed the board to tackle misinformation and disinformation targeting minority communities.

CDC Restates Recommendation For Masks On Planes, Trains

The CDC reaffirmed their recommendation Tuesday that travelers wear masks on planes, trains and buses after a federal judge ruled last month that the Biden administration’s national mask mandate on public transit was void.

“At this time, CDC recommends that everyone aged 2 and older – including passengers and workers – properly wear a well-fitting mask or respirator over the nose and mouth in indoor areas of public transportation (such as airplanes, trains, etc.) and transportation hubs (such as airports, stations, etc.),” the CDC said in a statement. “When people properly wear a well-fitting mask or respirator, they protect themselves and those around them, and help keep travel and public transportation safer for everyone. Wearing a well-fitting mask or respirator is most beneficial in crowded or poorly ventilated locations, such as airport jetways. We also encourage operators of public transportation and transportation hubs to support mask wearing by all people, including employees.”

“This public health recommendation is based on the currently available data, including an understanding of domestic and global epidemiology, circulating variants and their impact on disease severity and vaccine effectiveness, current trends in COVID-19 Community Levels within the United States, and projections of COVID-19 trends in the coming months.”

Pfizer says it sold almost $15 billion worth of COVID-19 vaccine, antiviral pill in first quarter

Pharma giant Pfizer said on Tuesday that it sold almost $15 billion worth of its COVID-19 vaccine and antiviral treatment in the first three months of 2022, shattering Wall Street expectations.

The company said in its first-quarter earnings report that sales of the vaccine, now known as Comirnaty, totaled $13 billion and sales of the antiviral coronavirus treatment Paxlovid totaled $1.5 billion.

Also, Pfizer reported a 61% increase in profit over the first quarter – and said revenue, $25.7 billion, was up close to 80% over the same quarter in 2021.

Most analysts expected the report to show roughly $24 billion in first-quarter revenue.

"We continue to supply the world with Comirnaty, which remains a critical tool for helping patients and societies avoid the worst impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic," Pfizer CEO Dr. Albert Bourla said in a statement.

"And we are on track to fulfill our commitment to deliver at least two billion doses to low- and middle-income countries in 2021 and 2022, including at least 1 billion doses this year."

Boula noted that Pfizer continues to supply products to Russia, but added that it's now donating all profits from its Russian subsidiary to humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. Russia invaded Ukraine in February, triggering a humanitarian crisis there and prompting many Western companies to cut business ties with Moscow.

"We will continue to do all we can to support the health of all people, which is in line with our purpose: Breakthroughs that change patients' lives," Boula added.

Paxlovid received emergency authorization in December and is one of two COVID-19 antivirals approved for use in the United States. Last week, the White House announced plans to expand access to Paxlovid for people with the virus.

Pfizer was the first drugmaker in the world to receive emergency use authorization in the United States for its COVID-19 vaccine in December 2020. Last week, it said that it's pursuing authorization for a smaller dose for children under 5 and booster shots for children 5-11.

Moderna, the second company to receive U.S. vaccine authorization, will release its earnings on Wednesday. The company reported revenues of $7.2 billion for the final quarter of 2021.

Johnson % Johnson, which produces the only other authorized COVID-19 vaccine, said last week that it earned $23.4 billion in the first quarter.
