his father was lowell e rothschild, born to albert rothschild (not in the rothschild geneology) and sydel harrison bernstein. albert and sydel divorced, and she married someone else. lowell kept the rothschild name, but there are no other obvious connections.

all said - maybe there are some deeper links, but on the surface it looks like this family was just trying "look the part".
