Their plan is to:
-get rid of Kamala first
-have Joe pick her replacement (probably Buttigieg)
-get rid of Joe or “encourage” him to resign

He passed away in February 2021 after a steep decline in his already poor health started in December 2020. TPTB, the real big $ players (think David Geffen types) wanted Buttigieg to be the Dem nominee. These same big $ players who threw their $/support behind Obama in 2008 were funding Pete’s campaign in 2015-2016 (no sauce but I remember Limbaugh talking about this). They realized pretty quickly Pete was/is unelectable as the country as a whole just isn’t ready for that yet. So they reluctantly went with Biden simply because he could sort of ride Obama’s coattails (plus some mystery ballot magic and Voilà). Now they didn’t lose the desire for Buttigieg to be the POTUS at any point along the way. No, they have a plan and it ends up with Buttigieg being POTUS by Constitutional default, not having to be elected, because they know he can’t be elected without even bigger fraud than was perpetrated in 2020.
