‘Goodfellas’ Star Ray Liotta Dies in His Sleep at 67

‘Goodfellas’ actor Ray Liotta passed away in his sleep in the Dominican Republic at the age of 67.

No other details about his death were disclosed.

A shocker. Ray Liotta, the terrific actor whose career breakout came in the Martin Scorsese crime classic Goodfellas, has died. Deadline hears he died in his sleep in the Dominican Republic, where he was shooting the film Dangerous Waters. We will have more details when they become available.

Liotta was 67 years old and leaves behind a daughter, Karsen. He was engaged to be married to Jacy Nittolo.

Liotta was on a big resurgence. Recent turns included The Many Saints of Newark, Marriage Story and No Sudden Move. He finished the Elizabeth Banks-directed Cocaine Bear and was due to star in the Working Title film The Substance opposite Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley.

He also starred with Taron Egerton in the Apple TV+ series Black Bird.

Democrats Introduced Bill to Get Police Out of Schools – Despite Slaughtered Children

In February 2018, a crazed teen gunman who was on the FBI radar, opened fire on students inside the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The psychopath who had threatened murder several times in his past killed 17 people and injuring 17 others.

This was not the first school shooting in America. It was not the last.

In July 2020 top Democrats introduced legislation to get police out of schools despite the slaughtered children.

Senator Chris Murphy told his fellow lawmakers, “Police shouldn’t be in schools.”

On Tuesday 19 children and two teachers were murdered by a deranged teen gunman at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

The deaths of Black people at the hands of police this year ignited an important conversation about police reform in this country. A number of proposals have been introduced to address various facets of policing at the federal, state, and local levels. This week, Democratic lawmakers in Congress added to that list with a bill to get police out of schools.

Senators Chris Murphy (CT) and Elizabeth Warren (MA), along with Representatives Ayanna Pressley (MA) and Ilhan Omar (MN), introduced the Counseling Not Criminalization in Schools Act that would prohibit federal money to be used to fund police in schools. The lawmakers said this would prevent money from being diverted from important student service providers, like counselors and social workers.

The legislation has the backing of the two major teachers’ unions, the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the National Education Association (NEA). It also has the support of a number of civil rights organizations, including the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and the Human Rights Campaign.

“Police shouldn’t be in schools,” said Senator Murphy in a statement. “There are plenty of better ways to ensure that our schools are safe places to learn, and Congress needs to understand how police in schools ends up with the wrong kids getting arrested for minor disciplinary actions and resources being drained from more effective programs.”

I cannot say I adhere to that anymore, though I do not curse you, I cannot support a country that would infiltrate my workplace (NSA), run a honeypot (Margarita “Rita” LaPointe) to sleep her way through upper management, starting in the NSA Weapons and Space Directorate, in order to sexually blackmail managers like Robert Gaiser, Drew McCarrier, Air Force Captain Todd Parks, etc. then get her “Johns” to manipulate the theft of credit of a six month series of Top Secret reports that I alone wrote – vouched for by supervisor AF Captain Sonya McMullen) and which the Pentagon confirmed had saved the lives of about 2,000 military men or more in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), in order to steal the rare double promotion meant for me – according to promotion board member Lori Hamilton.

When I asked the then Inspector General George Ellard to investigate what I originally thought was a gross ethics breach, I found myself viciously targeted instead. I had witnesses lined up but found they were either ignored or threatened by the IG or NSA Security, quite contrary to their duty and purpose. Then I found myself ordered to take an out of routine polygraph by a man who screamed at me just before the polygraph in order to skew my results. Of course, after he screamed at me, I asked to come back another day when the polygraph tech had not breached protocol and purposely upset the subject, but he refused and threatened to have me arrested right then and there by the FBI and taken to jail in DC… because I did not want his screaming at me out of the blue to sabotage my polygraph! I said for the record, I had never had a problem on a polygraph but taking one after being abuse would certainly skew the proper results. A week later, I was called by security to say I had not passed (the first time ever in 20+ years) and was scheduled to take a second in a month. I knew I had been set up because of my IG complaint. The second test was deemed indeterminate, the third three months later was a pass. That polygraph tech interviewed me two hours in regard to my situation and remarked how I had no record of job problems at all and had indeed never had a polygraph problem before this. She revealed at the end of the test that I had cleanly passed it and had actually passed the second as well, but they had wanted to confirm with a third test. You would think that would be the end, but no. The same people who lied to the promotion board had fabricated some secret allegation against me and NSA Security was on board with framing me to get me fired at least, if not falsely imprisoned, to shut me up. Could an ethics breach deserve such a psychotic and criminal over-reaction by those actually in charge of keeping ethics strong at the workplace?

CNN apologizes to China

A guest on the network falsely claimed that Chinese diplomats sat down during a standing ovation for Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky

CNN apologized on Thursday to China’s Global Times newspaper for a broadcast on Wednesday in which US Representative Michael McCaul accused a Chinese delegation of remaining seated during a standing ovation for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a World Economic Forum meeting. The seated delegation were Vietnamese, according to Chinese reports.

McCaul, a Republican from Texas, told CNN on Wednesday that he had been sitting in front of a “Chinese delegation” during Zelensky’s speech at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, on Monday. McCaul said that as leaders in attendance stood and clapped for the Ukrainian president, this delegation remained seated in silence, before walking out of the auditorium.

CNN displayed video footage of the diplomats in their seats, and McCaul told the network that the scene “sent a clear message they do not support Ukraine.”

However, Beijing denied that its diplomats were even in the room at the time, and Foreign Ministry Spokesman Wang Wenbin called on McCaul to correct his statement. CNN, however, addressed the error first.

“We regret the error that appeared on our air … we reached out to McCaul’s office for a statement,” the network told the Global Times in an email on Thursday.

The Global Times had published an extensive article on the mixup on Wednesday. Citing other Chinese media sources, the newspaper noted that one of the men in the picture behind McCaul appeared to be the deputy prime minister of Vietnam. Vietnamese media reported earlier in the week that the deputy PM, Le Minh Khai, would attend Davos on Monday and Tuesday.

McCaul, who sits on the Republican Party’s ‘China Task Force’, has not yet addressed the incident.

You know that he purchased voting systems that is unverifiable. The United States district court found that it was in violation of two Georgia statutes.

Then he fights to make sure that ballots are still secret and not publicly available. And so the results coming up yesterday and quite frankly I don’t think any of us down here reallyactually believe that, very few people actually think that these results are accurate…

…Here’s the thing. He could not even be a delegate in his own precinct, he’s was that unpopular. He’s one of the most unpopular people in the state of Georgia, particularly amongst Republicans. So to say that over half the Republicans voted for him as Secretary of State is just really a stretch of the imagination…

Sussmann Defense Team Reveals FBI Knew Sussmann Worked for Hillary Clinton and Yet Still Moved Forward with Alfa Bank Investigation

The Michael Sussmann case moved to the defense team on Wednesday after the prosecution ended their presentation of evidence against the former federal prosecutor and a former partner at the law firm Perkins Coie. They immediately presented something not so shocking.

Michael Sussmann met with the FBI as a client representative of the Hillary Clinton Campaign weeks before his one-on-one meeting with the bureau’s top lawyer before the election in 2016.

The Courthouse News Service reported on yesterday’s activities in the Sussmann trial.

After prosecutors rested their case in the Michael Sussmann trial on Wednesday, a federal jury learned for the first time that he met with the FBI as the client representative for Hillary Clinton’s campaign just weeks before his infamous one-on-one meeting with the bureau’s top lawyer in 2016.

The government has repeatedly insisted that the bureau did not know that Sussmann was legal counsel for the campaign — in litigation related to Russian hacking groups’ accessing Democratic National Committee servers — when he met with then-FBI General Counsel James Baker in 2016 and gave him data files allegedly containing evidence of secret communications between then-presidential candidate Donald Trump and Russia’s Alfa Bank.

The government claims that if the FBI knew during the September 2016 meeting that Sussmann was representing the campaign in other matters, the bureau might have taken different steps in its investigation of the Trump-Alfa Bank information he brought, which he said was “not on behalf of a client.”

They were all in on it. It wasn’t just the Hillary team trying to fool the FBI. They worked together. Durham’s case rests on the argument that Sussmann came into James Baker’s office and provided Baker garbage on a Trump-Alfa Bank connection and that Baker was unaware that Sussmann worked for Hillary.

But Baker was Comey’s top lawyer at the FBI. They all knew who was working for who.

Sussmann’s evidence indicates that the FBI knew the information coming from Sussmann was garbage and they ran with it anyway. The FBI knew the information was coming from Hillary Clinton’s campaign. They were all in on it.

Rodney Joffe Was “The Christopher Steele of the Alfa Bank Narrative” – He Pushed Alfa Bank Garbage, Was an FBI Source and Was Fired as an FBI Source

Rodney Joffe was a confidential FBI source who worked on Russia-related matters. This was confirmed in yesterday’s evidence supplied in the case against Michael Sussmann.

Yesterday (Wednesday) the government (Durham) ended their arguments in their case against Hillary attorney Michael Sussmann and the defense took over. There were some shocking news that the defense brought up almost immediately about Rodney Joffe.

The New York Post reported in September 2021 on Joffe who was then identified in the Sussmann case:

Joffe, who’s not accused of any wrongdoing, “retained Sussman as his lawyer” in February 2015 in connection with an unspecified “matter involving an agency of the US government,” according to the indictment.

Sussman’s indictment is part of special counsel John Durham’s probe of the FBI investigation into claims that Trump’s campaign colluded with Russian officials.

Joffe’s LinkedIn profile says he retired earlier this month as senior vice president and security chief technology officer at Neustar Inc., a Reston, Va.-based company that provides various internet-related services and products to more than 8,000 commercial and government clients around the world.

Techno Fog reported that a witness yesterday reported that IT specialist Rodney Joffe worked for the FBI as a source and he worked on Russia-related matters in the past as well.

Today we saw some important testimony in the Michael Sussmann case. First, Rodney Joffe, an FBI confidential human source, went around his FBI handler to relay dubious Alfa Bank information to a friend at the FBI. Second, there were indications that Joffe previously worked on Russia cyber security matters.

In their discussion, Patel and Jekielek share that they were in the courtroom yesterday and they found some of the testimony riveting. Patel thought some items were the biggest stories of the week. He shared:

Neustar, the company that Rodney Joffe worked for, paid out 3+ million dollars to Perkins Coie, the lawfirm that Michael Sussmann worked at and headed up all the Clinton campaign disinformation campaign, be it the Steele Dossier or the Alfa Bank nonsence. And Joffe was the lead guy at Neustar pushing the Alfa Bank material. So now that’s a multimillion dollar plan of action that’s been shown in court today.

Patel and Jekielek also discussed how Sussman billed the Clinton campaign for the thumb drives he used to pass information on to the FBI. Then they discussed in another Truth post the following where Patel shares:

Today the most significant development for me, Rodney Joffe it’s been disclosed was an actual source of the FBI for years. That means he was on the books, had a contractual relationship with the FBI and was getting paid by the FBI. He was the Christopher Steele of the Alfa Bank narrative.

More importantly, it was shown that Rodney Joffe was fired as a source from the FBI, just like Christopher Steele. And it was shown that Rodney Joffe had a cutout in this FBI Agent’s Grosso’s testimony. This is unbelievable. It violates every rule of source handling I’ve ever encountered when I was a federal prosecutor, and a federal public defender, and there’s so much more to untangle in this web.

EU Proposes to Make Breaking Russia Sanctions a Crime

The move would allow the EU to confiscate assets of companies and individuals that don't follow EU sanctions on Russia

On Wednesday, the EU’s European Commission proposed to make breaking EU sanctions on Russia a crime, which would make it easier for the bloc to confiscate assets of people and companies that evade sanctions.

“Today’s proposals aim to ensure that the assets of individuals and entities that violate the restrictive measures can be effectively confiscated in the future,” the European Commission said in a statement.

Confiscating assets means they can be taken, sold, and used by the EU as opposed to freezing them, which only denies the targeted person access to their assets.

Breaking Russia sanctions is currently a crime in 12 EU nations. In 13 EU countries, it is either a criminal offense or an administrative offense, and two EU members only consider it an administrative offense.

Wednesday’s proposal would make evading Russia sanctions a serious criminal offense in all 27 EU countries. It would mean the EU could confiscate the assets of anyone who helped facilitate the skirting of sanctions, including lawyers and bankers.

The EU is also considering selling off the assets of already-sanctioned individuals, including Russian billionaires, to use the funds for Ukraine. President Biden is looking for similar power, but the federal government seizing private property without due process is a clear violation of the Fourth Amendment.

'No veterans left behind': Group of almost 60 veterans deboard plane after one was told he wasn't able to fly

Onlookers described it as a powerful show of solidarity. A group of nearly 60 U.S. veterans on their way home from Washington, D.C., decided to deboard a plane when one veteran was told he couldn't fly due to safety concerns.

The group of veterans, all residents of Oklahoma, had just completed a four-day trip to the nation's capital organized by Northeast Oklahoma Veterans Freedom Tour, a nonprofit dedicated to taking veterans on tours of memorials and monuments all around the country.

According to KOTV-TV, they were seated on a plane in Charlotte, N.C., and ready for take-off back to Tulsa when they learned that one member of their group was unable to fly. His oxygen concentrator had run out of batteries and couldn't be recharged using the plane's electrical outlets.

With no way to charge the medical device, American Airlines determined it would be unsafe for the veteran to undertake the flight, per company policies. In the interest of his safety, they informed him that he couldn't fly.

Parents Begged Cops to Charge into School But They Waited an Hour Outside as Shooter Murdered Kids

Uvalde, TX — The worst school shooting in more than a decade unfolded this week in a small Texas town west of San Antonio. The massacre has rocked the nation and led to a fierce debate over guns and school security. One aspect of the shooting is flying under the radar, however, and that is the police response — or rather, lack thereof.

New information is coming out from bystanders who watched the shooter enter the school and then watched as police stood by as he murdered 19 children and two teachers. According to reports, the shooter stayed in a single classroom, killing everyone inside.

“[The shooter] barricaded himself by locking the door and just started shooting children and teachers that were inside that classroom. It just shows you the complete evil of the shooter,” Lt. Christopher Olivarez of the Department of Public Safety said.

Had the shooter walked out of the classroom, things could’ve gotten even more deadly but for some reason, he stayed inside. And the police had nothing to do with it.

Video taken from outside the school shows parents attempting to go into the school to try to stop the shooter. Instead of being allowed in to stop the shooter, however, they were physically accosted by the officers who were more concerned with setting up a perimeter than stopping a mass murdering psychopath who was executing children inside.

As parents beg police to help, they merely stand there, holding a perimeter as if they were at war with dozens of shooters. But there was only one.

Javier Cazares, whose fourth-grade daughter, Jacklyn Cazares, was killed in the attack, told the Associated Press that he raced to the school when he heard about the shooting, arriving while police were still gathered outside the building.

When he arrived, he too witnessed police do nothing. Upset that they were allowing a psychopath to indiscriminately murder children inside, Cazares brought up the idea of charging into the school to stop the shooter himself.

“Let’s just rush in because the cops aren’t doing anything like they are supposed to,” he said.

“More could have been done. They were unprepared,” he added.

Other folks outside the school reacted similarly.

Russian President Vladimir Putin told Italy’s Prime Minister Mario Draghi by phone on Thursday that Russia was ready to help ease the international food crisis, but only if the West lifts sanctions, the Kremlin said.

“Vladimir Putin emphasized that the Russian Federation is ready to make a significant contribution to overcoming the food crisis through the export of grain and fertilizers, provided that politically motivated restrictions from the West are lifted,” it said in a statement.

Russia’s blockade of Ukrainian ports has prevented it from shipping out grain, of which both countries are major exporters. Russia accuses Ukrainian of mining the ports.

The conflict is fuelling a global food crisis by sending prices for grains, cooking oils, fuel, and fertilizer soaring.

Separately, Russia’s defense ministry said civilian vessels may now safely use the Azov Sea port of Mariupol in Ukraine, where its forces took full control last week after Ukrainian fighters surrendered at the besieged Azovstal steelworks.

It said the danger from mines around Mariupol port had now been eliminated.

The ministry said six foreign dry cargo vessels in the port were now free to leave. It said they were from Bulgaria, Dominica, Liberia, Panama, Turkey, and Jamaica, and urged those governments to get the owners of the vessels to remove them.

Kevin Spacey charged in UK with sexual assault of three men

Kevin Spacey was charged in the UK with four counts of sexual assault against three men on Thursday — as he appeared in a Manhattan court to testify in a separate sex assault lawsuit brought against him in New York.

The two-time Oscar winner, 62, has also been hit with a charge of “causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent,” the Crown Prosecution Service said.

The alleged incidents took place in London between March 2005 and August 2008, and one somewhere in western England in April 2013.

The alleged victims are all now in their 30s and 40s.

The UK charges stem from a probe of evidence gathered by the Metropolitan police.

Spacey appeared Thursday morning in Manhattan federal court for a hearing in a civil suit stemming from actor Anthony Rapp’s allegations thatSpacey made sexual advances toward him when Rapp was just 14.

“He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold,” Rapp told BuzzFeed News in 2017, noting how the pair had been alone in a bedroom.

“But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me. He was trying to seduce me.”

“He was trying to seduce me,” Rapp said. “I don’t know if I would have used that language. But I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually.”

At the time, Spacey said he was “beyond horrified” by Rapp’s account, and said he did not remember the encounter.

“But if I did behave as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior,” Spacey said.

Labour-Ordered Report Denies Claims Rotherham Abuse Continuing ‘On the Same Scale’

A report commissioned by Labour politicians in the rape gangs hotspot of Rotherham denies child sexual exploitation is continuing on the “same scale” as previously.

In November 2021 it was alleged that Rotherham, where officials including police officers and social workers failed to act against the large-scale grooming, raping, and pimping of mostly white girls and young women by mostly Muslim predators of South Asian heritage for years, continues to be a place where action against such abuse is inadequate following an investigation by opposition councillors.

Conservatives on Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, which is controlled by the left-wing Labour Party, said that it “very quickly became clear that [Child Sexual Exploitation] is a continuing problem in Rotherham, that police action is seriously lacking, and that the council is committed to the idea that CSE is part of Rotherham’s past, not its present” after they began looking into the issue.

The council boasted of, incredibly, having been nominated for a social work award in 2017 despite its sordid past, and this attempted rebrand continued — despite rape gangs survivors complaining in 2018 that officials were actively trying to involve abusers in the lives of children born to their victims — with a move to style the city as “the world’s first Children’s Capital of Culture” in March this year.

The Conservatives’ claims of “multiple examples” of contemporary abuse, including, according to the BBC, girls “being picked up by older Asian men in cars late at night from allotments, parks, and takeaways” and sold for sex, may have posed a substantial risk to this reinvention — but a supposedly independent report commissioned by the city’s ruling Labour party has insisted that these allegations are “not founded”.

“The review team has found no evidence that CSE may be occurring on the same scale as the past”, claimed the Rotherham Safeguarding Children Partnership, adding that it has “found no new evidence that police in Rotherham currently deny that CSE is a continuing problem”.

The Conservatives had said after their investigation that had “been unable to identify any action taken” by police officers — part of the Safeguarding Children Partnership, along with council and health service officials — when evidence of abuse had been passed on to them.

Can be Spread by ‘Clothes, Bedding or Sex Toys’: Gay Dating App Grindr Sends Monkeypox Virus Warning to Users

Gay dating app Grindr has sent out messages to its users in Europe warning them about the monkeypox disease, with the current outbreak being linked by health officials to LGBTQ events on the continent.

Grindr, one of the world’s largest dating apps, has sent out an alert to its European user base warning them about an outbreak of the monkeypox virus.

Detailing some of the signs and symptoms of the disease, as well as how it is spread through person-to-person contact as well as contact with the likes of an infected person’s “clothes, bedding or sex toys”, the company is now also reportedly preparing a similar message for its users in America.

According to a report by The Telegraph, a “notable proportion” of people who have been infected with the virus in the most recent outbreak have been “men who have sex with other men”, with the World Health Organisation reportedly linking the outbreak to “risky sexual behaviour” at two raves in Belgium and Spain.

In the hopes of combatting the outbreak, the Grindr message — which was sent in 13 different languages — told its userbase of mostly “queer” people to contact their local health authorities, such as the socialised healthcare service the NHS for those residing in the UK.

British authorities are now engaged in contact tracing efforts regarding known cases, with a vaccine for the disease being available for those who have yet to show symptoms, which can take up to three weeks to develop.

While there is no known cure for the disease once symptoms set in, the virus — which is considered to be endemic in parts of Africa — usually only results in minor illness and often clears up between 6 and 13 days.

However, the disease poses a greater threat to children, and can occasionally result in severe illness.

As of writing, 79 cases of the disease have been reported detected in the United Kingdom, with Thursday seeing Wales and Northern Ireland confirming their first detected instances of the disease.

Meanwhile, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has reported a total of 118 confirmed cases of the virus within the European Union as of Wednesday.

In total, the organisation said yesterday that there were 219 cases of diseases worldwide in countries where monkeypox is not thought to be endemic.

“The clinical presentation is generally described to be mild, with most cases presenting with lesions on the genitalia or peri-genital area, indicating that transmission likely occurred during close physical contact during sexual activities,” the organisation reported while noting that there has yet to be any deaths.

“This is the first time that chains of transmission are reported in Europe without known epidemiological links to West or Central Africa,” the org continued. “These are also the first cases worldwide reported among [gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men].”

NATO Claims ‘Immunity’ to Serbian Lawsuits on Use of Depleted Uranium in 1999 Bombings

The Western alliance spent 78 days bombing Yugoslavia in 1999, contaminating the Balkan nation with at least 15 tonnes of highly toxic depleted uranium (DU) munitions. Serbian attorneys have filed multiple lawsuits against NATO, but have yet to receive any formal admission of wrongdoing by the alliance for its actions.

NATO has formally responded to lawsuits filed by Serbs with the Belgrade High Court over the bloc’s DU munitions use during the 1999 bombing campaign, claiming immunity from prosecution, Srdan Aleksic, a lawyer representing victims, has told Sputnik Serbia.

“In its statement to the court, NATO’s liaison office in Serbia indicated that the alliance has full immunity under Serbian jurisdiction on the basis of the 2005 agreement between the alliance and the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro ‘On the transit participation and support of peacekeeping operations,’ and the 2006 agreement under which the liaison office in Belgrade was created,” Aleksic said.

The attorney dismissed the ‘immunity’ claims, insisting that “none of these agreements gives immunity to NATO as an organization, and immunity cannot be applied retroactively. Therefore, NATO cannot receive immunity for war crimes against civilians and for its illegal aggression under the 2005 agreement.”

“In our case about DU bombings resulting in casualties among the civilian population, soldiers and policemen, NATO carries responsibility for the violation of the right to life and for damages caused,” Aleksic stressed.

The attorney expects the Belgrade High Court to proceed with hearings on the matter in October.

Aleksic and Italian attorney Angelo Fiore Tartaglia filed a lawsuit against NATO over its use of depleted uranium in the 1999 attack on Yugoslavia in January 2021. Two additional lawsuits were filed earlier this year. Tartaglia had previously successfully represented nearly 200 Italian troops who died of cancer or became seriously ill after being exposed to DU while serving in Kosovo during NATO’s ‘peacekeeping’ mission in that Serbian region.

The Belgrade District Court found US General Wesley Clark and NATO Secretary-General Javier Solana guilty of war crimes in September 2000 for the 1999 bombing of Yugoslavia. However, the colour revolution that overthrew Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic in October 2000 led to a review of the verdict, and in late 2001, Serbia’s Supreme Court overturned the ruling.

Serbia suffers one of the highest cancer rates in Europe, with nearly 60,000 oncology patients diagnosed each year and the cancer rate among children up to 2.5 times above the European average. Serbian doctors are convinced that the high oncology rate is directly connected to the liberal use of DU munitions during the NATO bombing. Along with cancers, scientists have reported an alarming spike in infertility, autoimmune diseases and mental disorders over the past two decades, including post-traumatic stress and other psychological problems associated with the bombings.

Earlier this year, Serbian Institute of Radiology and Oncology director Dr. Danica Grujicic told Sputnik that the 1999 bombings had a devastating impact on the region’s ecology and that the use of DU, combined with deliberate attacks on chemical plants and hazardous industrial facilities, created an environmental disaster affecting countries far beyond the borders of the former Yugoslavia.

It would seem that every time there is a mass shooting in this country, the shooter has either been taking psychotropic medications, usually in the form of antidepressants, or the shooter has recently quit taking antidepressants.

It is well known that these medications can cause suicidal thoughts, especially in young people up to around age 24. If a medicine can cause suicidal thoughts, it would only follow that it can possibly cause violent or homicidal thoughts as well.

A multitude of studies have linked antidepressants to everything from birth defects (including a very serious birth defect called persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn, causing the Food and Drug Administration to place a black box warning on them) to increased suicidal tendencies (causing the FDA to update the initial black box warning to include an additional suicidal tendencies warning).

Eli Lilly, the pharmaceutical giant that brought us Prozac, knew this from its own trials as far back as 1984, but the company kept it from the public and the FDA for years, long after the drug was approved in 1988. This information only came to light through a highly controversial litigation.

What do these documents, which the company reportedly worked to keep hidden, reveal about the potential dangers of Prozac (fluoxetine)?

The “confidential” report opens by stating that:

“Fluoxetine [Prozac] may produce both activation (nervousness, anxiety, agitation, insomnia) and sedation (somnolence, asthenia). Approximately 19% of patients might be expected to report activation during acute therapy with fluoxetine which was not present prior to therapy and which could be attributed to fluoxetine (in trials, 38% fluoxetine-treated patients reported new activation but 19% of placebo-treated patients also reported new activation yielding a difference of 19% attributable to fluoxetine).”

It is worth noting, however, that the control used in trials was apparently also a psychotropic drug, trazodone, a serotonin antagonist reuptake inhibitor (SARI) that carries “activation” risks of its own, including suicidal and violent behavior. Therefore, the true effects may have been downplayed through semantics and parameters set by the study.

At any rate, Lilly’s own internal report on clinical trials matches up incidence reports for fluoxetine against trazodone (an SARI), amitriptyline and desipramine (both tricyclic antidepressants), as well as maprotiline (a tetracyclic antidepressant). It shows a dramatically higher rate of suicide attempts, psychotic depression, hostility and intentional injury for fluoxetine-based Prozac than any of the other antidepressants used in the company’s own trials.

Russia will pay debt in rubles due to US refusal to renew license — Finance Ministry

The refusal to renew the license undermines confidence in Western financial infrastructure, the ministry underscored

Russia will continue to fulfill its obligations on external public debt, despite the refusal of the US Treasury to renew the license for servicing it, payments will be made in rubles, the Finance Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

"The Finance Ministry, as a responsible borrower, confirms its readiness to continue servicing and repaying all debt obligations. Taking into account that the refusal to renew the specified license makes it impossible to continue servicing the state external debt in US dollars, payments will be made in the currency of the Russian Federation with the possibility of their subsequent conversion into the original currency of the obligation through NCO JSC National Settlement Depository as a paying agent," the ministry explains.

According to the ministry, the refusal to renew the license infringes on the rights of foreign investors and undermines confidence in Western financial infrastructure.

"Now we have money, and the willingness to pay is also there. This artificially created situation by an unfriendly country will not affect the quality of life of Russians," Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said as quoted by the ministry press service.

According to the Finance Ministry, payments to holders of Russian Eurobonds within the Russian accounting infrastructure will be made to their accounts with National Settlement Depository (JSC NSD).

"Payments to holders of Eurobonds of the Russian Federation using foreign financial intermediaries will be made to type "C" accounts of these financial intermediaries in accordance with the provisions of Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated March 5, 2022 No. 95 "On the temporary procedure for fulfilling obligations to foreign creditors" with the possibility to restore access to these funds for investors who have provided JSC NSD with documents proving their rights to receive the relevant payments," the ministry explains.

On Tuesday, the US Treasury did not extend the term of the general license allowing Russia to make payments to service its external debt, it expired on May 25 at 07:01 Moscow time. This license excluded payments for servicing a part of Russia’s sovereign debt from anti-Russian sanctions. The term of its validity was originally set until May 25, but there was an option to extend it.

Public debt payments

On May 20, Russia’s Finance Ministry announced that it had fully fulfilled its obligations to pay coupon income on Eurobonds maturing in 2026 in the amount of $71.25 mln, as well as with redemption in 2036 in the amount of 26.5 mln euros.

In late April, the Finance Ministry announced that it had made payments on Eurobonds Russia-2022 and Russia-2024 in dollars. Earlier, Russia was forced to make a payment in rubles after its correspondent bank blocked dollar funds in early April. As the head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, said, the Finance Ministry has all the resources to fulfill its obligations and any default is ruled out.

According to the Russian Finance Ministry, as of April 1, 2022, the country’s external public debt amounted to $57.143 billion, including $37.26 billion of debt on external bonded loans. In total, Russia has 15 active bonded loans with maturities from 2022 to 2047.

Payments in rubles

In response to the sanctions, Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 5 allowed to pay foreign currency debts to "unfriendly" countries in rubles. According to the decree, debtor companies or the state itself can open an account in Russian banks in the name of a foreign creditor and transfer payments to it in rubles at exchange rate of the Bank of Russia on the day of payment. Creditors from countries that have not imposed sanctions can receive payment in euros or dollars if the Russian debtor receives special permission for it.

Symptoms of hay fever, also known as seasonal allergies, include a runny nose and sneezing, according to funding documents recovered by the White Coat Waste Project.

“Fauci’s white coats at NIAID have forced taxpayers to pay millions to debark and poison puppies, infest beagles with ticks and flies, and, now, needlessly torture puppies to test a new drug to treat a runny nose,” Devin Murphy, White Coat Waste Project’s public policy and communications manager, explained, according to the Washington Examiner. “The FDA has stated clearly that it doesn’t mandate dog testing for human drugs, and even NIAID’s own contractor acknowledges that the dog testing demanded by Fauci’s agency is unnecessary because alternative animal models are available.”

At least five separate experiments on dogs are expected to be conducted, including force-feeding them experimental drugs for several months. The contractor carrying the tests out, Inimmune, declared that instead of dogs, guinea pigs could be used in one of the experiments.

“Guinea pigs have been used for many years in studies of allergic airway inflammation and are a more relevant model of human allergic rhinitis than mice. Guinea pigs can be sensitized to ragweed, our primary allergen indication, leading to allergic symptoms similar to human symptoms (sneezing, mucus secretion, runny nose). This model is highly relevant for our project and would be established by Immune personnel using the University of Montana vivarium (fee usage) we previously used for our murine allergy studies. We have already discussed the possibility of doing guinea pig experiment with the UM vivarium manager,” the documents say.

The possibility of buying “six-month-old puppies,” which would be exposed to allergens and used for testing, was proposed by Inimmune.

Israel Tells US It Killed Iranian IRGC Colonel in Tehran

The killing was likely carried out to derail efforts to revive Iran nuclear deal

Israel has told the US that it killed a senior member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) who was gunned down in Tehran on Sunday, The New York Times reported Wednesday, citing an unnamed intelligence official.

IRGC Col. Hassan Sayyad Khodaei was shot five times by two gunmen on motorcycles outside his home. Israel was immediately suspected due to its history of targeted killings inside Iran.

Israeli officials haven’t publicly said they were responsible for Khodaei’s killing. But Israel typically does not officially take credit for attacks inside Iran, and its responsibility is usually revealed by leaks to the media.

Israeli officials claimed to the Times that Khodaei was involved with plots to kidnap and assassinate Israeli civilians and officials around the world. They said he was part of a covert IRGC group known as Unit 840. But Iran denies that Unit 840 even exists, and despite frequent Israeli claims, there is no evidence that Iran has attempted to target Israelis abroad.

According to the Times report, Iranian analysts believe Israel’s claims of IRGC plots to assassinate civilians were likely meant to prevent the US from removing the IRGC’s terrorist designation, which was a major sticking point in talks to revive the Iran nuclear deal, known as the JCPOA.

Khodaei’s killing came as negotiations between the US and Iran were stalled and was likely an effort to derail them for good. “These provocations are designed to pressure all sides to call off the nuclear deal or push Iran to react in a way that would be damaging. But Iran always takes the long-term calculative approach,” Gheis Ghoreishi, an analyst close to Iran’s government, told the Times.

Not long after Khodaei was killed, news broke that President Biden finalized his decision not to remove the IRGC from the terror list, which was conveyed to Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. “I welcome the decision by the US Administration to keep Iran’s IRGC on the Foreign Terrorist Organizations list — which is where it belongs,” Bennett said.

Israel had previously launched attacks inside Iran aimed at sabotaging efforts to restore the JCPOA. In April 2021, Israel targeted Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility in an attack that came as the Biden administration began indirect talks with Iran aimed at reviving the JCPOA.

The previous known Israeli assassination inside Iran took place in November 2020, when Iranian scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was killed. Fakhrizadeh was targeted during the final months of the Trump administration, and the assassination was seen as a last-minute attempt to provoke a response from Iran while President Trump, a staunch Israel supporter, was still in office.

CDC: Nine monkeypox cases confirmed across seven states

Nine monkeypox cases across seven states in the U.S. have been confirmed as of this week, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

During a press briefing, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky confirmed that nine cases of monkeypox in seven states have been identified.

“These cases were suspected by local clinicians. They were identified by local laboratories and triggered local public health action to help with treatment and management of any potential contacts,” Walensky said.

Cases have been identified in California, Florida, Massachusetts, New York, Utah, Virginia and Washington.

The clinical samples of these suspected cases were also tested by the CDC for confirmatory testing.

According to Walensky, some, not all, of the cases were linked to individuals who had travelled to areas with active monkeypox outbreaks. The cases in the U.S. have been found in men who have sex with men, though Walensky stressed that the risk of exposure is “not limited to any one particular group.”

“Stigma and discrimination in public health results in decreased access to care, ongoing disease transmission and a blunted response to outbreaks and threats,” said the CDC director. “So I urge everyone to approach this outbreak without stigma and without discrimination.”

The U.S. has two vaccines and two antiviral treatments that can be used for orthopox infections, a family of viruses that monkeypox falls within. One vaccine called Jynneos has already been mobilized to be sent to states with confirmed cases.

The officials on Thursday also emphasized that tests available for orthopox viruses are believed to be accurate and sufficient for handling the current spread of cases.

On Thursday, the court is to select a restrictive measure against Dodon. The Moldovan Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday accused him of committing crimes as defined under article 324 (passive corruption), article 1812 (the financing of a political party recognized as a criminal organization), article 337 (treason) and article 330/2 (illicit enrichment) and demanded his arrest for 30 days. Lawyer Lebedinsky said that Dodon might stay free during the investigation and that he would prove his client’s innocence.
