We are entering into a solar minimum and there is wicked geomagnetic shenanigans coming from the sun. We've also been hit in the past couple days by meteor debris of sorts… Asteroid Alert is a neat app designed in partnership with JPL drawing data from NOAA, NASA, etc…

 

Not definitive, just another layer of data in our quiver of knowledge.

The electromagnetic coupling between planets literally changes the intensity of the solar energy that makes it through our atmosphere when there is any solar activity.

 

In the USAF, we had to check to the "geo planetary index" if the crew reported issues with the 'magnetic azimuth detector' or MAD, we didn't touch it unless the index was high.
