2 days after the Gaurdian of the Galaxy ride called Cosmic Rewind opened at Epcot center, fires happened, power went out, people got stuck over Memorial Day weekend.

Breaking: Emergency Situation at Epcotright now

Fire department officials are on the scene and multiple locations in the park are closed including attractions, transportation, and more.

Emergency Situation at Epcot

Despite it being a busy holiday weekend at Disney World, emergencies do happen. Currently, several locations at Epcot are being evacuated due to smoke. Here is what we know.

A friend of the blog shares that at approximately 3:45 pm today, May 29, smoke was seen rising from the pin shop near the park entrance of Epcot. We are unsure what the smoke is coming from. It may be a fire inside the building or somewhere around the building.

The pin shop is located after you enter the park and past the pylons. On one side of Spaceship Earth sits Pin Traders and on the other side sits Gateway Gifts.

What is closed?

At approximately 3:45 pm Cast Members evacuated Guests from the pin shop. Then, just a few minutes later Spaceship Earth also was evacuated. It is important for any Guests in the area to listen to Cast Member instructions and remain calm.

Currently, people in the area can smell the smoke and a chemical, although we are unsure what the cause of the issue is.

Since the monorail runs through the park, it is also closed to Guests as well. Those who wish to leave the park must get on a bus at the front entrance or head to the International Gateway to get on the Skyliner. Disney would either get those Guests off as quickly as possible or hold the monorail back while the emergency is handled.

At this time, nothing else appears to be closed.

Emergency personnel is on scene

We are told that fire department officials and crew have arrived, but at this time there are no trucks in the park. Our friend also shares that there are no injuries that they are aware of at this time.

If we learn any additional details, we will be sure to share that information. Stay tuned for any updates.

We were there and leaving when it started. You could smell the fire and hear the panic in the cast members evacuating and directing guests. They had that park exit also briefly blocked but we were able to leave as the monorail was being evacuated

Securing Lightning Lane access to EPCOT's Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind is proving more difficult than just handing over $17.

Walt Disney World's latest rollercoaster is now into its fourth day of operation, and so far, sales of Lightning Lane access have reached capacity during the Disney World Resort hotel guests' early sale window. The early sell-out before park opening means that those guests not staying at a Disney hotel have no option to purchase Lightning Lane access.

Since Genie launched at Walt Disney World, guests of a Disney Resort Hotel can make their first purchase starting at 7:00am on the day of their visit, while other guests can make their first Lightning Lane purchase when the park opens. This gives a huge advantage to resort hotel guests for high-demand Lightning Lane purchases.

At Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, Individual Lightning Lane purchase is reaching capacity at around 7:15am, 75 minutes before non-resort guests can make a Lightning Lane purchase

Assuming this pattern holds, the only option for non-resort hotel guests to ride Cosmic Rewind is to secure a Virtual Queue boarding group at 7am or 1pm. Both of those distribution windows are incredibly short, reaching capacity in 3 seconds.

Disney handing out‘barf bags’to passengers on its new roller coaster: report

Disney World’s new, state-of-the-art roller coaster is making customers sick to their stomachs — forcing theme park officials to hand out “barf bags” to nauseated passengers, according to a new report.

The new ride at Disney World’s Epcot theme park, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind — which rotates 360 degrees and has the first-ever reverse launch on a roller coaster in Disney history — is causing intense motion sickness among some patrons, according to Disney blog Inside the Magic.

The roller coaster, which officially opened on Friday, is so bad that Disney even added employees at the end of the ride to hand out barf bags for sick customers, one rider wrote on Twitter.

“A very large amount of people taking barf bags at the exit … I get it! We rode row 1 and I’m still making this face,” he griped.

The Marvel-themed ride, which is billed as a mix between the half-century-old Space Mountain and the kid-friendly Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, has been getting complaints since last month when customers began testing out the new ride.

Despite leaving some queasy, the ride, which is the first roller coaster to be built at Epcot, is attracting big crowds and rave reviews from many fans on Twitter.

“It is rare that I am left speechless after a ride, but with Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, I am truly speechless,” one rider raved. “If you have the chance, please please experience this attraction, it is truely something to behold. 10/10.”
