While holding firm in its promise to prosecute Jan. 6 offenders to the max, the U.S. Justice Department made a curious move last week. It withdrew its own plea deal with two lawyers accused of using Molotov cocktails in 2020 during George Floyd protests in New York City and allowed the defendants to plea to different charges that carried less prison time.

The rare reversal by DOJ in the case of attorneys Colinford Mattis and Urooj Rahman in federal court in New York stunned some legal watchers and added to a pattern of recent cases that some see as evidence of a two-tier system of justice.

The argument first surfaced among conservatives during the Russia collusion scandal when a defendant like Trump National Security Advisor Mike Flynn was pressured to plead guilty to lying to the FBI while the bureau's then-Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was allowed to escape any punishment for allegedly lying during an internal investigation. McCabe even got the pension he was stripped of restored.

Dr. Jennifer McQuiston, a CDC official previously said, “This is not COVID.” McQuiston told reporters last week that, “Respiratory spread is not the predominant worry. It is contact and intimate contact in the current outbreak setting and population.”

The guidance regarding mask-wearing is no longer present on the CDC website as of June 7, while the rest of the guidance for travelers remains in place.

Alegal nonprofit group says New Jersey voter rolls have over 8,200 duplicate names, which creates the potential for one person to vote multiple times.

The findings by the Public Interest Legal Foundation also show several dozen individuals whose names are on the rolls three times, and a handful have their names on the rolls four, five and even six times.

"New Jersey’s voter registration system, like nearly every other studied by PILF, can be tricked into registering a person multiple times with extremely similar biographical data inputs at the same addresses." according to foundation analysis published this week and reported by the Epoch Times.

The report states that the most common issue with duplicate registrations came down to sometimes "subtle" typographic errors such as mixed up letters.

"As an example, Julia Rose and Juila Rose are the same person, but she has duplicate registrations with unique voter identification numbers," the report reads.
