They don't. A shallow dig on The Church of the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) will reveal that this is not what the Mormon church teaches.

Ask them who they think Jesus Christ is.
Yep
If they have a brain in their head and have figured it out.
But most of them are trapped either financially, or because they will be ostracized from all of their friends and family if they dare to speak out against the church.
The God Makers is a good book, written by two guys who left the Mormon church. They talk about what the Mormon church actually teaches.
I find it interesting that the people who despise and criticize Christians are the same ones who insist that Mormons are Christians and "good" people?
Can't have it both ways.
The grift of the LDS is to portray themselves to be what their idea is of what the world thinks it means to be "a good Christian" polite, dressed nice, and well groomed.
So you will be a god someday and propagate your own planet full of babies?
The Devil plays some convoluted games to try to confuse people. And he laughs at our ignorance.
Mitt Romney is Mormon. He's up to his eyeballs in the grift.
Well, they did kidnap his daughter.
So
I could start a church and call it The Church of Jesus Christ and the Loopheads. Who do they think that Jesus Christ is? Do they believe that He is the One and only true God? The only God that there has ever been and ever will be? The Creator of the universe and the Redeemer of mankind?
It's always interdasting to read what non-Christians think it means to be a Christian.
Somehow, they always get it wrong.
This goes beyond anything that I knew about LDS.
