Italian PM Draghi is stepping down

Mario Draghi won a confidence vote, but lost his coalition partners

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi announced on Thursday that he would resign. Draghi survived a confidence vote despite his coalition partners in the Five Star Movement abstaining, but said he would step down after meeting with President Sergio Mattarella.

The former European Central Bank chief had led a coalition government since last February, but as of late faced persistent criticism from Five Star Movement leader Giuseppe Conte over the rising cost of living.

While Draghi’s coalition drew members from both left and right, the Italian premier had said that he would not stay on without the support of Conte’s party. Although he comfortably won the confidence vote even without the participation of Five Star lawmakers, he met with Mattarella immediately afterwards.

“I have always said that this executive would only go forward if there was a clear prospect of being able to carry out the government program on which the political forces had voted their confidence,” he said. “This compactness was fundamental to face the challenges of these months. These conditions no longer exist.”

Draghi is the second G7 leader to resign in short succession, after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced last week that he would step down, amid personal scandals and a similarly grim economic outlook.

While the Five Star Movement began as the largest partner in Draghi’s coalition, it was later split over his policies. Conte has spoken out against Draghi’s arming of Ukraine and military spending hikes, while former foreign minister Luigi DiMaio has left Conte’s party to form a new faction loyal to Draghi.

DiMaio has accused Conte of withdrawing his support from Draghi in a bid to bring the government down and solidify his own support. Centrist Senator Antonio Saccone, an ally of Draghi, declared on Thursday that Conte’s party was “doing a favor to [Russian President Vladimir] Putin” by abstaining from the vote.

Prior to Draghi’s announcement, a general election had been scheduled for next year. However, snap elections may now be called in autumn.

Former Business Partner of Hunter’s Personal Attorney Is Now Over the DOJ’s Criminal Division, Ironically Despite Ample Evidence of Crimes on Hunter’s Laptop, Hunter Goes Free

The former business partner of Hunter Biden’s attorney was picked as Chief of Biden’s Justice Department’s Criminal Division. Now he’s blocking any serious investigation of Hunter Biden.

We reported more than a year ago about Nicholas McQuaid, Biden’s pick in his Justice Department who is connected to Hunter Biden. FOX News reported this at the time:

Fox News host Tucker Carlson reported a former business partner of Hunter Biden’s criminal defense attorney has been picked as a top Justice Department official in President Biden’s new administration.

It has already been revealed that Nicholas McQuaid, a former federal prosecutor, was picked as acting chief of the Justice Department’s criminal division. Hunter Biden confirmed in early December, after his father won the 2020 election, that he was under federal investigation.

Carlson said on his show Friday night that McQuaid worked with Christopher Clark as partners at Latham & Watkins and worked on cases together right until McQuaid took the job at the Justice Department.

It now looks like McQuaid is doing exactly what he was hired to do, prevent and stop any investigations of Hunter Biden.

Biden’s DOJ reported on McQuaid’s hiring on January 21, 2021, a day after the Biden inauguration. The press release failed to mention McQuaid’s partner was Hunter Biden’s criminal attorney. McQuaid was put over the criminal division.

For some reason there is nothing going on with Hunter Biden’s laptop and no investigations of Hunter that we know of despite buckets of real and potential crimes. How could this be?

Gates-Funded International Organization Names 11 Viruses As Potential Candidates for the “Next Pandemic”

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a founding partner of GAVI, has pledged a total of 4.1 billion dollars to the organization so far.

“At the 2020 Global Vaccine Summit, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced USD 1.6 billion for GAVI’s next 2021-2025 strategic period,” GAVI announced. “In addition to this funding, the Foundation pledged USD 150 million in support of GAVI’s COVAX AMC to ensure equitable access to vaccines for AMC-eligible economies.”

Now, GAVI is listing viruses that have the potential to erupt into global pandemics, as first mentioned in Chief Nerd’s Telegram.

Below is the list of viruses mentioned on GAVI’s website:

Rift Valley fever – The risk of a pandemic from a disease that affects farm animals may seem low, but the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has classed Rift Valley fever as a category A bioterrorism agent because of its potential to devastate large-scale agricultural economies and cause social disruption.

Hantavirus – The long incubation period combined with the emergence of New World species causing HPS mean that hantaviruses are becoming an increasing concern.

Another coronavirus – Although the development of COVID-19 vaccines may help to end the current COVID-19 pandemic, ongoing high rates of infection in many countries could lead to the emergence of further variants capable of evading vaccine-induced immunity. This could mean people continue to develop COVID-19.

Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever – The wide geographic spread of the hard-bodied Hyalommamarginatum ticks that carry CCHF virus, and its persistent circulation, means the risk of spill-over from animals to humans is high. Factors such as climate change and the movement of livestock or wild animals may further increase its geographic spread.

Lassa fever – The combination of a long incubation time and the fact that four in five people who become infected with Lassa virus have no symptoms means the disease can spread easily through international travel.

Marburg – As Marburg virus can spread from human to human through contact of bodily fluids, much like Ebola. As outbreaks in Europe and the US have already shown, increasing globalisation and international travel mean that the risk for global spread is high, especially when the incubation period could be up to three weeks. This could be disastrous given its high death rate.

Yellow fever – So far, yellow fever has never been reported in Asia or the Western Pacific but, as Aedes aegypti is endemic in these regions, it would only take a few introductions by people travelling from Africa or South America for the virus to spread rapidly.

H5N1 and H7N9 influenza – Since Spanish flu, there have been three pandemics – H2N2 in 1956-7, H3N2 in 1968 and H1N1 in 2009 – and before COVID-19 it was widely assumed that the next pandemic would be caused by influenza. The risk is high particularly with two subtypes, H5N1 and H7N9.

Chikungunya – Chikungunya has already been a pandemic, albeit one that didn’t affect the Global North. In 2004, a large outbreak in Kenya spilled out into the islands of the Indian Ocean and Asia and led to a pandemic that spanned several years and had more than a million cases. This means there is a growing possibility we could see another pandemic.

Ebola – if the virus mutates in ways that allow it to spread via respiratory droplets, as COVID-19 does, that would increase the potential for it to spread more easily and become a pandemic threat.

Nipah virus – The disease is also so deadly that many governments classify it as a bioterrorism threat and limit the laboratories that are allowed to culture and study it.

Illegal Immigrants Provided Tickets from San Antonio to Baltimore on Southwest and Ran Through Premium Lane Without IDs

Illegal immigrants appear to be trafficked through San Antonio and are given tickets on Southwest airlines in the Premium lane for their flights. What’s going on?

In an exclusive report, TGP has obtained information of illegal immigrants being trafficked through San Antonio on their way to the East Coast, in this case, Baltimore.

We reported months ago on flights from the Southern border to the Northeast. There were even flights with children on them. We tracked these charter flights and the children to a New York Adoption agency. These flights were at night.

We’ve obtained information today on illegals trafficked in San Antonio through a major US airport on a major US airline.

Illegals are being bussed into terminal B in San Antonio where they are handled at a sort of make-shift counter.

At this point, individuals are all given a manila envelope. One group of immigrants was given boarding passes on Southwest Airlines on a flight to Baltimore.

The immigrants are then escorted over to Terminal A. They then go through the premium lane, skipping the general boarding area.

Below is a copy of a typical boarding pass. It’s marked with a “STIPC Bond Release” – we’re not even sure what this means.

Macron issues warning on Ukraine

Paris does not want a “third world war” but will support Kiev, the French president has said

France will continue “helping” Ukraine in its ongoing conflict with Russia, French President Emmanuel Macron said Thursday.

Paris is seeking an end to the fighting, without it spiraling into a “third world war” and does not want to become directly involved in hostilities, he added.

France should nevertheless increase its military budget in the wake of the hostilities between Kiev and Moscow, Macron told French media. “The end of summer and autumn will be very harsh,” he warned, suggesting the fighting is set to intensify.

“Those who thought the high-intensity war was over were wrong. I asked to evaluate the new risks to adjust our strategy until the end of the year,” the president said.

France is set to continue supporting the Ukrainian authorities, both directly and through imposing additional sanctions on Russia, Macron went on. “This war will last and France will always be there to help Ukraine and slow down the Russian economy,” he said.

We want to stop this war without getting involved. We don’t want a third world war.

Macron also said Russia was waging a “hybrid war” against Europe, accusing Moscow of cutting gas supplies. The president was referring to Russia’s state-owned energy giant Gazprom shutting down the Nord Stream 1 pipeline for ten days for annual maintenance this week.

France, and Europe as a whole, must be prepared to live “entirely without Russian gas” supply, Macron suggested, adding that he will “ask the French to consume less.”

“We must try to reduce [gas consumption] to pass the peak of winter. We must do this to avoid complete cuts,“ he said. “Energy prices went up before the war. The real change in the last few days is Russia’s decision to cut gas. We are in a hybrid war. Russia is using energy as a weapon of war," Macron added.

Russia sent troops into Ukraine on February 24, citing Kiev’s failure to implement the Minsk agreements, designed to give the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk special status within the Ukrainian state. The protocols, brokered by Germany and France, were first signed in 2014. Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has since admitted that Kiev’s main goal was to use the ceasefire to buy time and “create powerful armed forces.”

In February 2022, the Kremlin recognized the Donbass republics as independent states and demanded that Ukraine officially declare itself a neutral country that will never join any Western military bloc. Kiev insists the Russian offensive was completely unprovoked.

Electric Cars Are Now Being Targeted For Overloading The Electric Grids During An Energy Crisis

Tesla has asked owners in Texas not to charge their cars during a heat wave to help avoid blackouts and overloading the state’s failing power grid.

The alert comes as the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) called on residents to conserve energy. They have asked the state’s residents to refrain from using electricity from appliances and more to stop the grid from being pushed to near-emergency conditions.

Tesla stepped up to help the state with a new in-car alert to owners in the state, encouraging them not to charge during peak hours.

“A heat wave is expected to impact the grid in Texas over the next few days. The grid operator recommends to avoid charging during peak hours between 3 pm and 8 pm, if possible, to help statewide efforts to manage demand”, an in-car alert sent to Tesla owners reads, as reported by Electrek.

ERCOT has also asked that people in Texas avoid running appliances between 2 pm and 8 pm. Reuters reported the state’s risk of losing its power reserves “with no market solution available.”

The ERCOT website indicated late Tuesday that it only had about 3,600 megawatts of reserves, which is enough to power three-quarters of a million homes. The lack of power reserves is a genuine concern for more than 26 million state residents.

The state is expected to register temperatures of more than 100 degrees in the coming days. The heat also stops wind power from being generated in Texas, which usually provides the state with a quarter of its electricity.

In an interview Tuesday with Fox News Digital, energy expert Jonathan Lesser warned that the power crisis in Texas underscores the broader problems with green energy.

Lesser argued that due to the lack of reliable utility-scale battery storage infrastructure, forcing a green transition will lead to more power outages.

“The reality is: we’re going to have to get used to more blackouts as long as we continue down this green energy path,” Lesser said. “The technology simply isn’t there. You’re going to either have more blackouts or more requirements to conserve energy.”

Lesser pointed to the lack of reliability of wind energy during the summer.

“The least windy time of year is summer when electricity demand in Texas peaks,” Lesser said. “So, you’ve got a resource that is at its highest in the spring and fall when electricity demand is lowest. That means the wind as a resource has a low economic value because you want something that’s available when demand is highest.”

“So, it’s not surprising at all that Texas, which has the largest wind capacity of any state in the country, is seeing this problem,” he continued.

Lesser pointed out that the U.S. utility-scale battery storage infrastructure is currently insufficient. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the country has about 4,605 megawatts of total battery storage but regularly consumes more than 400,000 megawatts daily.

Pushing too quickly for green energy will lead to a lack of power and a direct impact on most Americans.

Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick Appointed To Rule Over Twitter's Delaware Suit Against Elon Musk

For the upcoming Twitter versus Elon Musk saga that's going to take place in Delaware's Court of Chancery, the case is going to be overseen by the court's first female chief judge, Kathaleen McCormick.

McCormick took on the role last year and "was appointed to the bench in 2021 by Delaware Governor John Carney, a Democrat," according to Bloomberg Law. She is a graduate of Harvard College and Notre Dame University’s law school.

She will first be tasked with ruling on a request by Twitter to hold a four-day trial in September - a ruling that may give us some idea as to the pace of how quickly the trial may move forward and whether the court sees the case as simple, or complex, to rule on.

“Having mounted a public spectacle to put Twitter in play, and having proposed and then signed a seller-friendly merger agreement, Musk apparently believes that he — unlike every other party subject to Delaware contract law — is free to change his mind, trash the company, disrupt its operations, destroy stockholder value, and walk away," Twitter's lawsuit against Musk claims.

Nathan Anderson of Hindenburg Research pointed out on Twitter yesterday that McCormick had recently awarded specific performance - the clause that would, in essence, force Musk to pay up for all of Twitter - in a recent April 2021 case.

Sri Lankan President Lands In Singapore On Saudi Flight As 'Pariah' Status Grows

Apparently even close regional allies like the Maldives see embattled Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa as too much of a liability to have around for more than a day or two.

While he had initially fled his country on a military aircraft Wednesday just as protesters overran his presidential residence in Colombo and were even enjoying his swimming pool, and with his motorcade later being briefly spotted speeding through the streets of Maldive capital of Malé, he's now reported to have arrived in nearby Singapore on Thursday. But it seems protests are following him wherever he goes.

CNN reports that Rajapaksa "has fled Maldives on board a flight for Singapore, a high-ranking security source in Colombo told CNN, as anger grows in his home country over his refusal to formally resign."

Family members were also being ferried out of the capital as it descended into chaos. To leave the Maldives, he may have had some help from the Saudis, the report continues:

Rajapaksa left the capital of the Maldives, Malé, on board a "Saudi flight," the source said. Rajapaksa had been waiting to secure a "private jet" from a close family member in Colombo, but that had "not materialized," the source added.

CNN believes the source was referring to Saudia flight 788, which left Malé at 11:30 a.m. according to the source. The flight landed in Singapore at 7:17 p.m. local time Thursday, according to the Changi Airport website. Saudia is the flag carrier of Saudi Arabia.

Former prime minister and Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s office was also stormed just as Gotabaya was safely in the Maldives.

Court Rules Investigation Into Biden Admin’s Collusion with Big Tech to Censor Opposition Can Move Forward

A federal court has granted Missouri and Louisiana’s motion for discovery in a lawsuit that alleges high-ranking members of the Biden administration colluded with the tech giants Meta, Twitter, and YouTube to suppress free speech.

The decision paves the way for Missouri Attorney General Erich Schmitt and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry to collect discovery and documents from the Biden administration officials and tech giants that were mentioned in the lawsuit.

According to Schmitt, this is the first time a Big Tech censorship lawsuit has had the chance to “look under the hood” at alleged censorship collusion between Big Tech and the Biden administration.

In their motion for discovery, the AGs’ had requested permission to issue interrogatories and document requests to government defendants and serve third-party subpoenas on a limited number of social media platforms.

The AGs intend to use the interrogatories and document requests to request the identities of federal officials that communicated with social media platforms about “disinformation, misinformation, malinformation, or any form of censorship or suppression of online speech” and to request the nature and content of these communications.

They also plan to use third-party subpoenas to seek similar information from a limited number of major social media about the identity of federal officials who communicate with them and the nature and content of those communications.

The court said the requests are reasonable and ruled that the AGs can serve document requests and interrogatories to government defendants and serve third-party subpoenas on up to five major social media platforms within five days of its June 12 order. The court added that defendants should respond or object to these discovery requests within 30 days of receiving them.

“The First Amendment obviously applies to the citizens of Missouri and Louisiana, so Missouri and Louisiana have the authority to assert those rights,” the court order stated.

The court’s ruling also laid out a process for resolving any discovery disputes and for the AGs to request depositions.

We obtained a copy of the ruling for you here.

Missouri and Louisiana’s lawsuit was filed in May and alleged that top-ranking Biden administration officials had colluded with Meta, Twitter, and YouTube to suppress posts about various topics including the Hunter Biden laptop story, the lab-leak theory of COVID-19’s origin, the effectiveness of masks and lockdowns, and the security of voting by mail.

The court order in favor of Missouri and Louisiana follows journalist Alex Berenson recently getting a victory in his free speech lawsuit which alleged censorship collusion between Twitter and the government. Twitter reinstated his account after settling the lawsuit and Berenson is still investigating the pressures the government may have placed on Twitter to suspend his account.

Before these recent rulings, several other lawsuits that had alleged censorship collusion between the Biden administration and Big Tech companies had been dismissed.

Data analyst Justin Hart, whose censorship collusion lawsuit against Twitter, Facebook, President Biden, and the Surgeon General was dismissed, welcomed Missouri and Louisiana’s motion for discovery being granted and described it as a “big win.”

US, Israel Sign Joint Pledge Denying Nuclear Weapons to Iran

President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid signed a new joint declaration expanding the security relationship between the United States and Israel on Thursday.

A senior White House official told reporters on a conference call that the pledge will include reaffirming a commitment to block Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

“This declaration is pretty significant, and it includes a commitment to never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon and to address Iran’s destabilizing activities, particularly threats to Israel,” the senior White House official said.

The joint pledge will also note the United States’ and Israel’s ongoing support for a memorandum of understanding that was finalized when Biden was vice president under former President Barrack Obama.

“The declaration will also emphasize support for the Abraham Accords and expanding Israel’s integration into the region, which of course is a theme of this trip,” the senior White House official said.

“And it will reiterate our shared concerns about a number of global challenges, from food security, to the situation in Ukraine, and of course, support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the official added.

Twitter Back Up for Many Users After Global Outage

Twitter was coming back online on Thursday after an hour-long outage kept thousands of users across the globe from accessing the social media website.

The outage affected nearly 2,000 users as of 9 a.m. ET, down from the peak of 50,000 incidents an hour earlier, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.

The incident comes days after Twitter sued Tesla CEO Musk for violating his deal to buy the company and asked a Delaware court to order the world’s richest person to complete the takeover.

“Some of you are having issues accessing Twitter and we’re working to get it back up and running for everyone. Thanks for sticking with us,” the social media company said in a tweet.

Twitter’s status dashboard showed it was investigating the issue with some of its application programming interfaces.

Twitter is hosted on Amazon Web Services and began using Google Cloud Platform as the secondary vendor from 2018, according to Well Fargo Securities analyst Brian Fitzgerald.

“It doesn’t seem to be a problem with its cloud vendors as other services continue to run,” Fitzgerald told Reuters.

Twitter had suffered another widespread outage in February that it blamed on a software glitch.

Other big technology companies have also been hit by outages in the past year, with a near six-hour interruption keeping Meta Platforms’ WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger out of the reach billions of users in October.

Notorious for outages in its early years, Twitter used its popular “Fail Whale” illustration, a beluga being lifted by birds, for such incidents until in 2013 when it discontinued the logo.

Twitter shares were marginally down at $36.51 on Thursday.

Biden Admin Hit With Lawsuit For Allegedly Hiding Records On ‘Hostile Takeover’ Of Key Regulator

President Joe Biden’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is being sued by a watchdog for allegedly concealing records related to its “hostile takeover” of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), according to a complaint obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

CFPB Director Rohit Chopra, who sits on the FDIC board, came under scrutiny after trying to launch a public comment on bank merger reforms in December 2021 without the consideration of then-FDIC Chair Jelena McWilliams.

The Functional Government Initiative (FGI) filed a Freedom of Information Act request in January for records related to the CFPB’s “unprecedented moves” undermining the FDIC’s independence but has received no records and now filed a transparency lawsuit

A government watchdog is suing a federal agency responsible for regulating consumer finance over its alleged stonewalling of records on its “hostile takeover” of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), according to a complaint obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The Functional Government Initiative (FGI), a group probing abuse in government, filed a Freedom of Information Act request in January for records related to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) “unprecedented moves” undermining the FDIC’s independence. The watchdog says it has received no records even though the CFPB promised it would produce them by June 2, and is now suing for the records.

Rohit Chopra, the CFPB’s director who sits on the FDIC board, came under scrutiny after trying to launch a joint public comment on bank merger reforms in December 2021 without the approval of then-FDIC Chair Jelena McWilliams. Chopra bypassed “long-established processes” by serving the chair with a “finished document requesting public comment” in a “brazen attempt to seize control,” McWilliams, a Trump appointee who announced her resignation in February, wrote in a December op-ed in The Wall Street Journal.

The FDIC governs bank mergers, per federal law. Chopra has sought further regulations “to determine how to implement existing law more effectively to ensure that families and small businesses benefit from a competitive market,” noting it is a “privilege” of banks to merge and “not a right.” Senate Banking Committee Republicans have argued that the CFPB’s bank mergers statement was “illegitimate” and violated the FDIC’s “tradition of working independent from partisan political influence.”

“Trying to force independent agencies to function as partisan rubber stamps violates the historic norms of how these agencies were designed to function,” Pete McGinnis, a spokesman for FGI, told the DCNF. “Director Chopra’s attempt to takeover and turn the FDIC into a political tool is not only a threat to the FDIC itself but also an attack on the objectivity of other independent federal agencies.”

The CFPB was launched in 2011 and oversees more than 5,000 banks. Chopra was nominated by President Joe Biden in February 2021 to lead the agency.

Goldman Sachs Teams Up with Google’s ‘Director of Regime Change’ to Influence Global Politics

Goldman Sachs has hired Jared Cohen, a former Google executive nicknamed the “director of regime change” by Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, for a new project that will use technology to advance the notoriously powerful investment bank’s policy goals around the world. Cohen was also a senior official in Hillary Clinton’s state department who will now manage “shifts in the geopolitical landscape” for the financial giant.

Cohen, who is also a fellow of the Council on Foreign Relations, will join Goldman Sachs at its most senior level — as a partner and member of the bank’s management committee, as well as president of global affairs. He will also lead a new department called the Office of Applied Innovation, which will harness “shifts in the geopolitical landscape” and “rapidly evolving technology” to advance the goals of the global finance behemoth.

From the State Department to Google and now to Goldman — Cohen’s career spans the most powerful companies and institutions in the world. Throughout it all, he has had a relentless focus on finding new ways to influence the course of political events, both domestically and in foreign countries.

Cohen joined the U.S. State Department after graduating college, working under George Bush appointee Condoleezza Rice. He was one of the few Bush appointees kept on by Hillary Clinton, and was given a key role in seeking the cooperation of U.S. tech executives to influence countries that were targets of U.S. regime change operations, including Russia, Syria, and Iran.

At Google, Cohen was the head of a project called Jigsaw, an AI censorship system purportedly aimed at “counter-radicalization,” but was later deployed around the internet to police a wide range of online conversations, and interfere in elections.

The Globalist Elite Used the Astroturfed Civil Rights Revolution to Legally Enshrine Their Ideology and Abolish Nationalism Throughout the West

Every problem today is enforced by laws that were enacted near-simultaneously in every White country during the 60s and 70s.

The American Civil Rights Act of 1964 (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Rights_Act_of_1964), Canadian Human Rights Act of 1977 (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Human_Rights_Act), Australian Racial Discrimination Act of 1975 (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racial_Discrimination_Act_1975), New Zealand Race Relations Act of 1971 (archive.today/aiud6), and British Race Relations Act of 1965 (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_Relations_Act_1965) all legally enforce multiracialism and the integration of immigrants by banning racial “discrimination.”

If a nationalist party took power in any White country, abolishing these laws should be the first priority.

They only exist to facilitate anti-White discrimination and ethnic cleansing under the guise of “equality.”

The Hidden Agenda Behind the New York Times’ Desperate Puff Piece on Ray Epps

The New York Times just released a puff piece on Ray Epps that is hugely important.

Ray Epps, the only person caught on camera repeatedly directing people into the Capitol, is the only January 6 rioter for whom the New York Times has written a highly sympathetic puff piece:

Again, this is the one Jan. 6 rioter the New York Times has managed to write a puff piece for.

From NYT:

IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS — Up a winding country road, in a trailer park a half-mile from a cattle ranch, lives a man whose life has been ruined by a Jan. 6 conspiracy theory.

Ray Epps has suffered enormously in the past 10 months as right-wing media figures and Republican politicians have baselessly described him as a covert government agent who helped to instigate the attack on the Capitol last year.

Strangers have assailed him as a coward and a traitor and have menacingly cautioned him to sleep with one eye open. He was forced to sell his business and his home in Arizona. Fearing for his safety and uncertain of his future, he and his wife moved into a mobile home in the foothills of the Rockies, with all of their belongings crammed into shipping containers in a high-desert meadow, a mile or two away.

“And for what — lies?” Mr. Epps asked the other day with a look of pained exhaustion. “All of this, it’s just been hell.”

[New York Times]

Let’s skip straight to the buried lede.

Here we see a reference to a text message Epps sent to his nephew describing how he “orchestrated movements of people” to the Capitol after Trump’s speech:

Mr. Epps also said he regretted sending a text to his nephew, well after the violence had erupted, in which he discussed how he helped to orchestrate the movements of people who were leaving Mr. Trump’s speech near the White House by pointing them in the direction of the Capitol.

Will this text message soon become a matter of public record? What exactly is Epps’ phrasing? Will other Ray Epps communications soon come out that will further clarify this sudden need for aggressive damage control?

For clarification, this is a video compilation of Epps “orchestrating movements” to the Capitol. We wonder how precisely Epps described his decision to do so:

Pompeo: Sources for Yahoo News WikiLeaks report 'should all be prosecuted'

Former CIA Director and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday called for the criminal prosecution of sources who spoke to Yahoo News for a story detailing proposals by the intelligence agency in 2017 to abduct WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and discussions within the Trump administration and CIA to possibly even assassinate him.

Pompeo, appearing on Megyn Kelly’s podcast, was asked to respond to the Yahoo News story, which was based on interviews with 30 former U.S. intelligence and national security officials with knowledge of the U.S. government’s efforts against WikiLeaks.

“I can’t say much about this other than whoever those 30 people who allegedly spoke to one of these [Yahoo News] reporters — they should all be prosecuted for speaking about classified activity inside the Central Intelligence Agency,” Pompeo said.

At the same time, Pompeo declined to respond to many of the details in the Yahoo News account and confirmed that “pieces of it are true,” including the existence of an aggressive CIA campaign to target WikiLeaks in the aftermath of the organization’s publication of highly sensitive so-called Vault 7 documents revealing some of the CIA’s hacking tools and methods.

“When bad guys steal those secrets we have a responsibility to go after them, to prevent [that] from happening,” Pompeo said. “We absolutely have a responsibility to respond. … We desperately wanted to hold accountable those individuals that had violated U.S. law, that had violated requirements to protect information and had tried to steal it. There is a deep legal framework to do that. And we took actions consistent with U.S. law to try to achieve that.”

Pompeo’s comments came as some human rights activists, civil liberties groups and supporters of Assange said the revelations by Yahoo News should be investigated and were grounds to drop the Justice Department’s efforts to extradite Assange from a British prison in order to face criminal charges in the U.S. for publishing classified government secrets in violation of the World War I-era Espionage Act as well for allegedly conspiring to hack into a classified U.S. government network.

“We now know that this unprecedented criminal case was launched in part because of the genuinely dangerous plans that the CIA was considering,” said Ben Wizner, director of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Speech, Privacy and Technology Project. “This provides all the more reason for the Biden Justice Department to find a quiet way to end this case.”

Ukraine conflict is already a world war – Serbia

The entire Western world is fighting Russia via Ukraine, Aleksandar Vucic has said

The Ukraine conflict is in fact already a world war, given that the West is fighting Russia via its proxies in Kiev, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told local media on Wednesday.

“We should understand that amid the world war – because all the talks that it is a regional or a local war must be dropped – the entire Western world is fighting against Russia via Ukrainians. It is a global conflict,” he said in an interview with Pink TV.

The president said that the ongoing global war is what concerns him the most, and, in his view, it will only get worse. He also added that the conflict in Ukraine is taking its toll on the Balkans, reiterating that Serbia would do its best to keep the peace in the region.

Moreover, Vucic believes that after Russia gains some more ground in eastern Ukraine, President Vladimir Putin will approach the West with a certain “proposal.”

“I know what awaits us. As soon as Vladimir Putin has done his work in Seversk, Bakhmut and Soledar, after reaching the second line Slaviansk-Kramatorsk-Avdeevka, he will come up with a proposal. And if they [the West] don’t accept it, – and they won’t – all hell will break loose,” he predicted, without providing any details on the would-be initiative.

The Serbian president also offered the reminder that his nation maintains close relations with Russia and China, adding that pursuing such policies does not come easy for Belgrade right now.

Vucic’s comments come after Serbian Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin said in early July that the West should apologize to Belgrade for the 1999 bombing campaign instead of forcing it to become a “NATO foot soldier” in the conflict with Russia.

Live Babies Left to Die After Failed Abortions in Minnesota, Report Reveals

Several infants were left to die after being born alive during botched abortions in Minnesota in 2021, according to a state health report.

Abortion procedures resulted in the birth of live infants in five separate incidents, and life-saving measures were not reported to have been used in any of the incidents, the Minnesota Health Department report found.

Two infants were pre-viable and were left to die with no attempts made to save their lives, according to the report. One infant with an unspecified fetal abnormality was also left to die without medical care.

In two instances, infants were born alive after abortions and given “comfort care measures” before dying; the report makes no note of whether life-saving measures were attempted in these cases.

The Minnesota Legislature requires abortion providers to report when infant children are born alive following failed abortions, according to the report. State law also recognizes born-alive abortion survivors as people and requires practitioners to afford them proper medical practice including reasonable measures to preserve the child’s life and health.

In total, 10,136 abortions were reported in the state throughout 2021.

World Bank: The Poor Will Suffer From Carbon Taxes

The World Economic Forum is praising Denmark for implementing the world’s strictest carbon tax laws. Companies will soon be forced to pay $159 for every tonne of CO2 emitted, marking an additional $53 per tonne. The government claims this will cut CO2 levels by 3.7 million tonnes in just one year.

“This incentivizes companies to clean up for themselves,” the WEF reported. In the midst of an extreme energy crisis, punishing energy suppliers will undoubtedly backfire. These costs will be passed along to the already struggling consumer. Even the World Bank admitted that the poor will suffer from the carbon tax.

The World Bank stated on its blog:

“There are good reasons why governments may not want to use carbon taxes, and one of them relates to their welfare impacts. For example, a carbon tax on fossil fuels is often regressive in its impact- hurting poorer people relatively more than richer ones. Even when it might be progressive, poorer people still suffer a welfare loss when prices rise, making their consumption basket more expensive.”

Furthermore, they admitted that the carbon tax “aims to restructure economies by raising the cost of a critical resource – the juice that makes it run.” Precisely. We NEED fossil fuels right now, there is no other viable alternative available to provide energy to the world. Since nations have succumbed to the climate change agenda, they have lost their energy-independent status. Europe shot itself in the foot by eliminating any diplomatic relations with their number one supplier of gas for a country that they did not acknowledge prior to February 2022.

Other nations with the ability will drill and sell oil to those under WEF leadership at a premium. India is already buying Russian oil at a discount, refining it, and selling it to the US for a premium. This is more than just bad business as it is a clear attempt to cut off a “critical resource” to “restructure economies” as seen fit by the WEF.

Ukraine cuts ties with North Korea

Ukraine has severed relations with North Korea after Pyongyang recognized two eastern territories of Ukraine as independent.

“We consider this decision as an attempt by Pyongyang to undermine the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.

“The North Korean regime’s recognition of the ‘subjectivity’ of the Russian occupational regimes in Donetsk and Luhansk regions is null and void, will have no legal consequences, and will not change the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine,” the statement said.

Russian media reported earlier on July 13 that North Korea had recognized the “independence” of parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions occupied by Moscow-backed separatists.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s statement also condemned North Korea’s decision and said in response to the “unfriendly act” Ukraine was severing diplomatic relations with Pyongyang.

Political and economic contacts had already been suspended due to international sanctions imposed on North Korea over its nuclear weapons program.

Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said North Korea’s decision said more about Moscow’s “toxicity” than Pyongyang’s.

“Russia has no more allies in the world, except for countries that depend on it financially and politically, and the level of isolation of the Russian Federation will soon reach the level of isolation of the DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea). Ukraine will continue to respond as harshly as possible to encroachments on its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Kuleba said.

The North Korean Embassy in Moscow confirmed Pyongyang’s decision, making North Korea only the third country after Russia and Syria to recognize the two entities in Ukraine’s Donbas region.

Denis Pushilin, head of a separatist group in the Donetsk region, said on Telegram that he hoped for “fruitful cooperation” and increased trade with North Korea, an isolated country more than 6,500 kilometers away.

GOP senator blocks bill to protect interstate travel for abortion

GOP Sen. James Lankford (Okla.) on Thursday blocked a Democratic request to unanimously pass a bill seeking to protect interstate travel for abortion.

Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.), joined by a string of Democratic senators, had sought consent to pass a bill that would prevent states from punishing women who travel to other states where abortion is legal to get the procedure.

The measure would also protect health care providers who provide abortions to out-of-state patients.

“Does that child in the womb have the right to travel in their future?” Lankford said in objecting. “Do they get to live?”

“There’s a child in this conversation as well,” he added.

With full-scale legislation to codify Roe v. Wade lacking the votes to pass the upper chamber, Democrats have looked for other legislative responses after the Supreme Court struck down the nearly 50-year decision that established a constitutional right to abortion.

A series of Democratic senators had spoken in favor of the measure before the request Thursday.

Cortez Masto said the bill was needed to protect abortion providers even in states where abortion remains legal, saying she has heard of some who are worried about being sued if they provide abortions for out-of-state patients.

Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) pointed to reports that conservative groups are “right now drafting legislation to ban travel for abortion.”

While Democrats said the right to travel for abortion is constitutionally protected as well, they sought to provide additional protection in law.

“Anyone telling you this is not a threat is not paying attention,” Murray said.

Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) said that “if people from other states need to come to Colorado to access the care they need, Congress has the obligation to shield them from prosecution.”

“And we need to make sure that health care providers no matter where they are, Colorado and other states, are safe from prosecution, to say nothing of the women themselves, to say nothing of teenage girls themselves,” he continued.

“I can’t believe we’re even having this conversation on the floor of the United States Senate,” he added. “I can’t believe it. But that’s the America we live in now because of this Supreme Court.”

Israel sends second shipment of protective equipment to Ukraine

Flight carries 1,500 helmets, 1,500 protective vests, 1,000 gas masks, dozens of hazmat filtration systems; Biden, Lapid set to sign declaration including commitment to Ukraine

Israel sent a new shipment of protective equipment to Ukraine’s emergency services, amid Russia’s near five-month-long invasion of its neighbor, the Defense Ministry said in a statement Thursday.

Defense Minister Benny Gantz had announced Tuesday that Israel would send a further 1,500 helmets, 1,500 protective vests, hundreds of mine protection suits, 1,000 gas masks, and dozens of hazmat filtration systems.

The equipment was loaded onto a flight that will first take the cargo to a neighboring European country. From there it will be moved into Ukraine.

The shipment set off as visiting US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Yair Lapid were set to sign a joint strategic partnership declaration in Jerusalem covering a range of defense and regional issues, including a response to Ukraine.

Jerusalem has avoided providing direct military aid to Kyiv — including offensive arms or advanced defensive technology — since Russian troops invaded Ukraine on February 24, in an attempt to avoid sparking a crisis with Moscow.

Israel is one of the few countries that maintains relatively warm relations with both Ukraine and Russia.

But Israel has found itself at odds with Russia as it has increasingly supported Ukraine while seeking to maintain freedom of movement in Syria’s skies, which are largely controlled by Moscow.

In April, Gantz okayed for the first time sending Ukrainian emergency services 2,000 helmets and 500 flak jackets, after long refusing.

That move came following reports of mass killing of civilians, rape and other atrocities committed by Russian forces in the Kyiv suburb of Bucha, leading to a change of tone from Israeli politicians.

Lapid, at the time foreign minister, explicitly accused Russia of war crimes over the reports, in the strongest comments against Moscow yet by a top Israeli official.

Ties between Israel and Russia were further frayed following a claim by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that Adolf Hitler had Jewish heritage, in an attempt to defend Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine as an attempt to “de-Nazify” a country whose president, Volodymyr Zelensky, is Jewish.

Putin gets tougher on foreign agents with new law

Russian or foreign legal entities, public associations and foreign agencies that are not legal entities, as well as individuals with or without citizenship, can be recognized as foreign agents

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed the law ‘On control over the activity of individuals under foreign influence’.

The document, posted on the official portal of legal information, summarizes the current norms of the Russian legislation on foreign agents and introduces some new provisions, subsequently coming into effect on December 1, 2022.

Thus, the law defines a foreign agent as a person who has received support or is under foreign influence in other forms and carries out political activities, collects data on military and military-technical activities of the Russian Federation or distributes reports and materials intended for an unlimited number of people.

Russian or foreign legal entities, public associations and foreign agencies that are not legal entities, as well as individuals with or without citizenship, can be recognized as foreign agents.

That being said, Russian public authorities, political parties, state corporations and religious associations cannot be recognized as foreign agents. In addition, employers' associations and chambers of commerce and industry registered in line with legally-established procedures cannot be recognized as foreign agents, as well.

The law specifies the list of foreign sources. They include foreign states and their public authorities, international and foreign organizations, foreign citizens, stateless persons, as well as foreign sources that don’t establish a legal entity. Citizens and legal entities of the Russian Federation receiving money from such persons and their proxies or acting as intermediaries in receiving financial aid, can also be listed among foreign sources.

The law provides for the creation of a unified register instead of the currently existing four. Also, a register of private individuals affiliated with foreign agents will be created.

Individuals may be removed from the register of foreign agents if they had not received financial or other assistance from foreign sources within a year before they submitted a relevant application. Also, a foreign agent may be removed from the register if the individual in question turns down funding and other aid from foreign sources within three months after being put on the list.

If a foreign agent's site violates the legislation, the Ministry of Justice may send a request to the communications supervisor to restrict access to it. In addition, the law forbids foreign agents to teach and educate minors in Russia, and to produce informational products for children and teenagers. Foreign agents are not entitled to state financial support or grants.

Also, the law prohibits foreign agents from investing in strategic enterprises, which are significant for the defense and security of the country.

Judge grants temporary injunction of COVID vax mandate for Airmen seeking religious exemption

U.S. District Court Judge Matthew McFarland, of the Southern District of Ohio, granted a 14-day injunction in case

A District Court judge in Ohio granted a temporary injunction Thursday on the Air Force's COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all of the branch's members requesting a religious exemption.

U.S. District Court Judge Matthew McFarland, of the Southern District of Ohio, granted the 14-day injunction in the case of Doster v. Kendall, giving the government seven days to respond and explain "why this Court should not grant a class-wide preliminary injunction," according to the court order.

File

Granting Class Certification Doster v. Kendall.pdf

The injunction applies to the entire Air Force and Space Force, including the Air Force Reserve, which submitted a Religious Accommodation Request. No punishment, discipline, or adverse action may be taken against the military members under the injunction.

"This is a huge victory for many of my Air Force clients. Another federal judge has found that 'The facts show Defendants have engaged in a pattern of denying religious accommodation requests,' " said R. Davis Younts, a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force Reserves and a Judge Advocate General's Corps lawyer privately representing several military members seeking the exemptions.

"The Judge also noted 'Thus, the putative class members face the same injury: violation of their constitutional freedom by Defendants' clear policy of discrimination against religious accommodation requests.'

"My clients and I are grateful for the attorneys working on this case and the efforts they have made for religious freedom in the military. While the current temporary restraining order is set to last for 14 days we anticipate that it will be extended."

Younts also told Just the News that he had several Air Force clients who have administrative hearing already scheduled and that if the injunction stands, it will prevent the Air Force from discharging them because of their religious faith while federal litigation regarding alleged Air Force violations of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and the Constitutional rights of military members are addressed.

45 nations pledge to coordinate evidence of war crimes in Ukraine

Russia has repeatedly denied involvement in war crimes and deliberately targeting civilians since it invaded Ukraine in February.

The United States and more than 40 other countries agreed on Thursday to coordinate investigations into suspected war crimes in Ukraine, shortly after what Kyiv said was a Russian missile strike that killed civilians far from front lines.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the international conference that Russian missiles had struck two community centers in the west of Ukraine, killing 20 people, including three children, and wounding many more.

"As this meeting takes place, Russian forces continue to commit atrocities in Ukraine with harrowing intensity,"

US envoy Uzra Zeya

Russia has repeatedly denied involvement in war crimes and deliberately targeting civilians since it invaded Ukraine in February. It says it launched a "special military operation" to protect Russian speakers and root out dangerous nationalists. Ukraine says Moscow is waging an unprovoked war of conquest.

"Today in the morning, Russian missiles hit our city of Vinnytsia, an ordinary, peaceful city. Cruise missiles hit two community facilities, houses were destroyed, a medical center was destroyed, cars and trams were (set) on fire," Zelensky said by video link. "This is the act of Russian terror."

The Russian defense ministry did not immediately comment on the reports from Vinnytsia.

On Thursday, 45 countries at the conference in The Hague - headquarters of the International Criminal Court (ICC) - signed a political declaration to work together on investigations into war crimes in Ukraine.

Those countries included European Union states as well as Britain, the United States, Canada, Mexico and Australia.

They also pledged 20 million euros ($20 million) to assist the ICC, as well as the prosecutor general's office in Ukraine and United Nations support efforts.

With some 23,000 war crimes investigations now open and different countries heading teams, evidence needs to be credible and organized, officials said.

Separately, Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra said the Netherlands would also consider setting up a special international Ukraine war crimes tribunal, in part because neither Ukraine nor Russia are members of the ICC.

"We have to fill a vacuum and the ICC here doesn't have the jurisdictions so I can imagine we do look into coming up with such a tribunal…We will take a look into this," he said.

Professor Edward Steele: Why The “Vaccines” Don’t Work, They Can’t Work

“I’ve got to stress: this is a common cold virus, 99.9% of people get rid of it … How can a jab in the arm vaccine possibly protect you against getting infected with Covid-19? … None of the vaccines put into the arms can possibly activate that immunity. They don’t, they just can’t work just on first principles … They know that, they know the vaccine can’t work,” Professor Edward Steele said during an interview with Asia Pacific Today in September last year.

=The U.S. Government’s Fake Opposition to Global Warming

The U.S. Government is set to destroy America’s stockpile of thorium, which element is the likeliest source of safe nuclear energy, and is also the likeliest replacement of the fossil fuels that are increasingly threatening the world’s future if a uranium 235 and plutonium nuclear-bomb World War III won’t end the world before global burnout does.

Some people think that a WW III is the world’s biggest threat; others think that a global burnout from fossil-fuels usage is. Thorium-based electricity could provide the solution to both concerns. But the U.S. Government has stunningly ignored thorium, because their top goal is to win control over the entire world (U.S. hegemony, an all-inclusive U.S. global empire), and only the uranium-based nuclear reactors produce feedstock to make nuclear bombs (for conquest), which is the U.S. Government’s top goal. So, their plan is simply to get rid of the thorium ‘waste’ from its nuclear industries. According to the narrative from the U.S. Government’s propagandists, “in 1973 the United States government shut down all thorium related nuclear research due to the success of the uranium reactor to produce energy, so the vast majority of the nuclear reactors that exists today use enriched uranium (U-235) or reprocessed plutonium (Pu-239) as their source of energy,” but the truth is quite otherwise: thorium-research was shut down because bomb-production was the real purpose of all nuclear development in the U.S., then, and now. They wanted more nuclear bombs. (Whereas bombs can be made from thorium producing uranium-233, it’s more difficult and far less suitable for major industrial-scale nuclear industries. As one 2011 engineering analysis concluded, thorium-based production of electricity would “have extraordinary proliferation resistance because thorium cannot be made directly into a weapon.5 The reactor cannot be used to create substantial, pure quantities of plutonium or 238U, which are needed to make bombs.2” Unfortunately, however, this is also why the U.S. Government has shunned it.)

America’s Government has built nuclear power upon the foundation of producing fission-bombs, nuclear weapons, which need U-235 and plutonium, that are required for large-scale bomb-making, instead of to build America’s nuclear-electricity production upon the basis of vastly safer thorium, which doesn’t explode. Thorium is being considered a mere ‘waste’, because it’s not useful for bomb-making (although thorium can do that on a small scale). China, by contrast, is racing past the U.S. to build-out mankind’s thorium electrical-production future, instead of to focus upon producing the biggest nuclear-weapons stockpiles like the U.S. and Russia have been doing (to make bombs for potential usage against each other).

Uber Hit With Lawsuit From 550 Women Who Say Drivers Sexually Assaulted Them

Hundreds of women have joined together to file a lawsuit against ride-share app Uber, alleging they were sexually assaulted by the company’s drivers. The lawsuit is yet another setback for Uber, as its corporate practices and culture have come under increased scrutiny in recent weeks.

On Wednesday, attorneys at Slater Slater Schulman LLP filed the complaint in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Uber. The lawsuit alleges that the women were "kidnapped, sexually assaulted, sexually battered, raped, falsely imprisoned, stalked, harassed, or otherwise attacked by Uber drivers.”

The lawyers representing the women accused Uber of neglecting passenger safety and maintaining practices that they say protect drivers with histories of violence or sexual assault. Among them are Uber’s refusal to institute fingerprint checks for criminal histories, a “three strikes rule” that they allege protects predatory drivers” and a refusal to install car cameras to watch for bad behavior.

"There is so much more that Uber can be doing to protect riders," said Adam Slater, a founding partner of Slater Slater Schulman. "But the company refuses to, and that's why my firm has 550 clients with claims against Uber and we're investigating at least 150 more. Acknowledging the problem through safety reports is not enough. It is well past time for Uber to take concrete actions to protect its customers."

According to the company’s website, Uber subjects drivers to a background investigation performed by a third-party company. The drivers are checked for valid U.S. driver's licenses, years of experience driving, and a criminal background check to disqualify potential hires with violent histories. However, Uber has refused to submit its drivers to fingerprint checks with the FBI with the company arguing that these databases are faulty or outdated.

The complaint comes days after the company released its second safety report, covering 2019 to 2020, showing 3,824 Uber drivers and riders reported sexual assaults, down 38% from the previous report, which covered 2017 and 2018.

In a statement, a Uber spokesperson called sexual assault a "horrific crime" and that the company takes seriously reports against their drivers. The company declined to comment on the specific lawsuit, but insisted that they "keep safety at the heart of [Uber's] work."

The lawsuit follows an expose by an international consortium of journalists that cataloged Uber’s aggressive business tactics, which included moves to thwart authorities who investigate its practices.

Among them was evidence that Uber included a “kill-switch” to thwart investigators looking into its practices around the world. In India, it was found that Uber flouted local regulations that required its cabs to include a “panic button” by not including one or the button itself proved dysfunctional.
