The Civil War wasn't about freeing slaves.
The Civil War was about the rights of States.
Lincoln just freed the slaves as a propaganda stunt and to piss off the South. He didn't really care about the plight of Blacks and/or slaves.
Most of the Blacks/slaves lived in the South so it wasn't a Northern problem.
But in the 1960s, the Jews made it into a Northern problem.
