Israeli occupation Prime Minister Yair Lapid reportedly stated, on Sunday, that the US and “Israel” did not "necessarily agree" on the need for a credible military threat against Iran, during talks with US President Joe Biden last week.

 

During the closed-door portion of Sunday’s cabinet meeting, Lapid said, “We came and asked to introduce a credible military threat during President Biden’s visit,” as per Channel 13 news.

 

“We want the basis [for world power’s negotiations with Iran] to be a credible military threat,” the occupation Prime Minister claimed.

 

“We didn’t necessarily agree on this with the Americans,” he added.

 

“Israel” and the US growing apart

 

Earlier, Lapid stated that he "made it clear to the president and his team that Israel opposes the nuclear deal and maintains complete diplomatic and operational freedom in the face of the Iranian nuclear program."

 

In a rare interview on Thursday, National Security Advisor Eyal Hulata stated that “Israel” was not afraid to express disagreements with the US on how to counter the Iranian threat.

 

"We are not afraid to tell the Americans that we think differently, or even to act in Iran," he said after meeting with Biden in an interview for Channel 13 news.

 

“Israel will act as it sees fit”

 

In a blatant confession of “Israel’s” sinister activities against Iran, Hulata said “Israel” had “acted quite a lot in Iran over the past year.”

 

“Israel will act as it sees fit. We’ve acted quite a lot in Iran over the past year, and the US is backing us. We are acting with logic and responsibility, and everyone can see this isn’t harming the relationship between the US president and Israel — on the contrary,” he told Channel 13.

Family has been showing signs of hopelessness despite my constant reaffirmation of good things to come. 'Systemic failures': New report finds nearly 400 law enforcement officers at Uvalde school shooting, blames all agencies for 'lackadaisical approach'

 

Nearly 400 law enforcement officers were at the Robb Elementary School during the Uvalde school shooting that resulted in the deaths of 19 students and two teachers, according to a new report.

 

An investigative committee from the Texas House of Representatives released a 77-page report regarding the police response to the Uvalde shooting on Sunday.

 

The report stated, "There is no one to whom we can attribute malice or ill motives. Instead, we found systemic failures and egregious poor decision making."

 

The report regarding the May 24 massacre found "an overall lackadaisical approach” by federal, state, and local authorities at the deadly crime scene.

 

The investigators said there were "shortcomings and failures of the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District and of various agencies and officers of law enforcement."

 

There were 376 law enforcement officers at Robb Elementary School during the shooting – including 149 from the United States Border Patrol, 14 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and 91 from the Texas Department of Public Safety. There were also 25 responders from Uvalde Police Department, 16 from the Uvalde County Sheriff's Office, 16 from the San Antonio Police Department (SWAT), and five officers from the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Police.

Congress Grants Pentagon $58 Billion More Than Requested: DOD Report

 

US lawmakers granted the Department of Defense (DOD) more money than the Pentagon requested for in the fiscal 2022 defense budget, a recent Pentagon report shows.

 

In total, Congress sanctioned $58.55 billion in additional funds, according to the report. This includes $25.70 billion for operations and maintenance, $17.67 billion for procurement, $9.89 billion for research, development, test, and evaluation, $4.32 billion for military construction, and $947 million for military personnel.

 

The DOD initially had a base budget appropriation of $742.3 billion for fiscal 2022. As such, the extra $58.55 billion represents an almost 8 percent increase from the base budget. The Pentagon did not put in a request for any of the programs funded with the extra $58.55 billion.

 

These programs are not even in the so-called unfunded priorities lists—made up of items not included in the budget but considered critical—that departments and officers send to Congress annually.

 

For instance, roughly $4 billion was granted for half a dozen ships that were not on the unfunded priorities list. Similarly, the Navy received $900 million for a dozen Super Hornet jets, the Air National Guard got $1.8 billion to purchase 16 C-130J transport planes, and $460 million was granted for developing advanced jet engines. Over $2 billion in extra funds was appropriated for classified programs.

 

The $58.55 billion calculation only takes into account individual additions totaling $20 million or more. Since there are usually many spending hikes in the single-digit millions, the total actual excess funding will likely be higher.

Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker is a form submitted to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services used by employers or prospective employers to obtain (or amend the details of) a worker on a nonimmigrant visa status. Form I-129 is used to either file for a new status or a change of status, such as new, continuing or changed employer or title; or an amendment to the original application. Approval of the form makes the worker eligible to start or continue working at the job (on or after the indicated start date) if already in the United States. If the worker is not already in the United States, an approved Form I-129 may be used to submit a visa application associated with that status. Jingnan Huo (MSJ17) performs many different tasks in her role as a news assistant at NPR. Before joining NPR’s Investigative Unit, she learned many of the skills she needed through her classes at Medill and set herself up for success by connecting to Medill’s alumni network.

 

What are your main responsibilities in your current role?

 

I help correspondents, producers and editors with investigative stories. The work involves, among other tasks, finding and reading documents, analyzing data, finding and talking to sources and mixing audio.

 

How has your Medill training helped you in your career so far?

 

Having little journalism experience before arriving at Medill,I learned most of the skills I needed through the program. The most important skills professors taught me are pitching and writing stories.

 

I also got plenty of reporting experience during my time in Medill’s Washington programs, where I wrote both day-turn stories and longer, more deeply reported pieces. I think the good clips and bylines seriously beefed up my profile in addition to making me a better reporter.

 

In addition, professors’ encouraging attitude toward my work and pursuits helped me to be a more confident journalist.

 

How did the Medill network help you find your job?

 

Alums and professors gave me references that landed me internships, and one of them led to my current job. Other alums have been generous with advice and bridge-building, be it through emails, coffee or events. Network is key in finding journalism jobs and Medill’s alumni have been most supportive.

 

What is an experience that stands out from your time at Medill?

 

The whole year at Medill was such a blast that I feel bad having to pick! If I have to pick, I’ll say when I followed two performers around for a week and documented their daily lives with camera. I enjoyed photographing them in their own skin and works hopping the photos with peers every night. I mostly wrote during my time at Medill be it articles or code, in Washington or in London so a visual experience stood out.

 

What advice do you have for someone considering Medill?

 

If you value supportive networks (you should), Medill has it. Do check out the alumni events and networks near you.

 

Medill offers you some neatly defined paths to follow, and also plenty of choices if you want to design your own path.

 

Anything else you’d like to add?

 

Lake Michigan, Northwestern and Chicago in the summer deserve your time. Bring a good camera if possible!

Two MSJ students wereawarded scholarships from the Foreign Press Associationat a ceremony and reception at the Permanent Mission of Hungary to the United Nations in New York on May 20.

 

The scholarships are awarded each year to international graduate journalism students studying in the United States who demonstrate an interest in international affairs reporting.

 

Jingnan Huo received a first-place award of $10,000 and Shen Lu received a second-place award of $7,000 from the FPA Scholarship Fund, based on the op-eds they wrote about the role of the international press in the era of rising nationalism and retreating globalization.

 

“The quality of the submissions we received continues to demonstrate the exceptional caliber of international students at leading U.S. graduate schools of journalism,” said David P. Michaels, the FPA president, in a press release. “Some of the submissions from the awardees reflect both concern about the way much of the media is covering events with too much biased ‘opinion,’ and not enough traditional and well-researched, reporting.”

 

Huo, of Foshan, China,is currently in her third quarter at Medill and is reporting on policy in Washington, D.C. She has also reported on general affairs and business for Medill News Service in Chicago. Huo earned a bachelor's degree in law in China and has studied in France. She will complete her Medill MSJ this summer after fulfilling practicums at The American Banker and Congressional Quarterly.

 

Shen, originally from Hangzhou, China, will also finish her MSJ this summer in the Business, Money and Markets specialization. She is interested in international affairs, financial markets, the economy and gender and LGBTQ issues. Shen holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and art from the University of Iowa and worked at CNN’s Beijing bureau before coming to Medill. She will intern at CNN Money this summer in New York while completing her degree.

 

The FPA Scholarship Fund was established in 1993 on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the association. Past FPA honorees include Albert Einstein, Tennessee Williams, Elizabeth Taylor, Henry Kissinger, and Walter Cronkite.

I went home beaming and started the rest of my life.

ROCHESTER, N.H. – The James W. Foley Legacy Foundation today announced the addition of a new digital security seminar to its Journalist Safety Guide for aspiring journalists to address methods and tools they can utilize to keep themselves and their data safe online. In 2014, the Foundation’s namesake, conflict journalist James Foley, was the first American murdered by the Islamic State following two years of imprisonment. Part of the organization’s mission is to improve the safety and treatment of independent freelance conflict journalists. In line with that goal, and in collaboration with several partner organizations, the Foundation developed a curriculum guide in 2016 for college journalism and communications instructors. The curriculum is intended to challenge aspiring journalists to focus on how to protect themselves in an increasingly dangerous world and to provide insight into what their colleagues are experiencing.

 

The section added today on digital security was developed by Jingnan Huo,a graduate student at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, in collaboration with Facebook; Ellen Shearer, Northwestern professor of journalism and executive editor for Medill’s Washington program; and Tom Durkin, director of programs for the Foley Foundation.

 

“Dangers to journalists covering local or national news can come unexpectedly in the digital sphere and too often journalists are unaware of how to plan for their online safety,” Shearer said. “This new material offers ways for aspiring journalists to be prepared.”

 

The latest information includes expertise and guidance from the journalism partnerships and safety teams at Facebook in conjunction with the Foley Foundation, along with resources from the Facebook Safety for Journalists initiative launched last summer.

Former Russian president warns of ‘Judgement Day’

Dmitry Medvedev has threatened the Ukrainian leadership with a massive strike should Kiev attack Crimea

 

The leadership of Ukraine would meet their maker should they attack Crimea, as Russia would retaliate with a massive strike, the country’s former president has warned.

 

Speaking with Second World War veterans on Sunday in the city of Volgograd, Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s president from 2008 to 2012 and currently deputy chairman of the country’s Security Council, issued a dire warning to the authorities in Kiev, who had earlier said that a strike against Crimea was on the cards.

 

“Some exalted bloody clowns that are periodically popping upover there with some statements, and are even trying to threaten us – I mean an attack on Crimea and so on,” should be aware that the consequences of such an action would be severe for them, the Russian official said.

 

According to Medvedev, “in case something like that happens, the Day of Judgement will come to them all simultaneously – a swift and hard one.”

 

The former president added that “it will be very difficult to hide” should Russia launch such a massive strike. He noted that despite these risks, the Ukrainian leadership is “continuing to provoke the overall situation with such statements.”

 

At some point the Ukrainian authorities will start to realize that Russia will accomplish all of its operational goals in Ukraine no matter what, he said, including demilitarization and denazification.

 

Medvedev, however, qualified his remark, by saying that the hope for such a scenario was “fairly faint because they are not acting sensibly.” He went on to claim that the government in Kiev is eager to fight Russian forces “to the last Ukrainian,” but this is likely to backfire and lead to the “collapse of the existing political regime” in the future.

 

The former president acknowledged that Russia itself was going through a “very difficult” period in its history, and expressed confidence, however, that the country would emerge stronger out of the current conflict.

 

“And we will achieve the set goals in the name of our country’s development and so as not to let our dear veterans down, who defended our motherland during the Great Patriotic War,” Medvedev concluded.

 

Earlier on Sunday, Russian Senator Andrey Klishas echoed the former president’s statement, saying that “threats from the Ukrainian junta to attack Crimea or the Crimean Bridge only confirm that ‘denazification’ and demilitarization must be carried out throughout the whole of Ukraine.”

 

Meanwhile, MP Mikhail Sheremet, who represents the peninsula in the Russian parliament, threatened Ukraine with a retaliation so harsh that the country would never be able to recover from it.

 

A string of warnings and threats began pouring out of Moscow after a spokesman for Ukraine’s Directorate of Intelligence at the Ministry of Defense, Vadim Skibitskiy, said on Saturday that Kiev considers the Crimean Peninsula to be a legitimate target for long-range weapons provided by the West.

 

“Today, the Crimean Peninsula has become a hub for the movement of all equipment and weapons that come from the Russian Federation to the south of our state,” the Ukrainian official explained.

 

Crimea became a Russian region back in 2014 following a referendum in which the vast majority of its residents voted in favor of rejoining Russia. This vote was preceded by the Maidan coup in Kiev, with the predominantly Russian-speaking population of the peninsula refusing to recognize the new authorities as legitimate.

 

Ukraine, along with the EU, the US and most other countries, consider Crimea an inalienable part of Ukrainian territory, which is temporarily occupied by Russia.

Saudi Arabia outlines what it will do for oil output

The country can boost output to 13 million barrels per day, but not more, crown prince says

 

Saudi Arabia is ready to increase oil production to its maximum of 13 million barrels per day but does not have the capacity to pump out more, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said during his address at the US-Arab summit in Jeddah on Saturday.

 

“The kingdom has announced an increase in its production capacity level to 13 million barrels per day, after which the kingdom will not have any additional capacity to increase production,” he was quoted as saying by UAE’s newspaper The National.

 

The crown prince also said that the global community should join forces to support the worldwide economy, but noted that unrealistic policies regarding energy sources would only worsen the situation.

 

“Adopting unrealistic policies to reduce emissions by excluding main sources of energy will lead in coming years to unprecedented inflationand an increase in energy prices and rising unemployment, and a worsening of serious social and security problems,” he stated.

 

Mohammed bin Salman’s words come a day after his talks with Joe Biden, who was in Saudi Arabia on his first visit as US president, and urged the kingdom to increase oil production in order to reduce global reliance on supplies from Russia.

 

Commenting on his trip to the kingdom, Biden said Saudi Arabia’s “energy resources are vital for mitigating the impact on global supplies of Russia’s war in Ukraine.”

 

Saudi Arabia, one of the globe’s largest oil exporters and the leading producer within the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), currently pumps out more than 12 million barrels of oil per day. The kingdom previously said it plans to reach production capacity of 13 million barrels per day by 2027. The Crown Prince did not reveal whether the timeframe for the boost in capacity has changed.

 

Following the start of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, the US and other Western nations have stepped up sanctions on Moscow, calling, among other things, for a boycott on Russian energy supplies. The US stopped importing Russian oil earlier this year, and the EU placed a partial embargo on Russian fuel last month.

 

Washington is now planning to set a price cap on the Russian commodity, and the US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is currently in Asia attempting to garner support for the scheme. The US is especially eager to secure the participation of China and India in the price cap mechanism, as both countries have not only refused to sanction Russia over the Ukraine conflict, but have recently stepped up purchases of Russian oil.

SBA disburses $1.49B in COVID-19 relief without budgets matching grant awards: inspector general

 

Watchdog report shows Small Business Administration's lax oversight led to unsupported payments, lack of transparency and accountability.

 

The Golden Horseshoe is a weekly designation from Just The News intended to highlight egregious examples of wasteful taxpayer spending by the government. The award is named for the horseshoe-shaped toilet seats for military airplanes that cost the Pentagon a whopping $640 each back in the 1980s.

 

This week's Golden Horseshoe goes to the Small Business Administration for awarding $1.49 billion in COVID-19 relief grants that did not match their budget requests, according to the agency's Office of Inspector General.

 

Finding that the agency's administration of grants to businesses under the COVID-19 Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program suffered from poor oversight, SBA Inspector General Hannibal "Mike" Ware questioned a large percentage of the awards.

 

"Approved budgets represent the financial plan for grant awards in the federal award process," notes the inspection report. "As such, it is fundamental that the applicant's approved budget reconciles with the grant award. However, in our review of SVOG grant awards, we found that SBA disbursed $1.49 billion to 1,849 SVOG recipients, 15 percent of the total, without ensuring the budgets matched the grant awards."

 

The watchdog found many shuttered venues received more funds than they requested, while some received less.

 

"SBA issued at least 744 grant awards, totaling $576 million, that were greater than the corresponding approved budgets," the internal agency watchdog found. "In some cases, the full grant award amount was disbursed without an updated budget being provided. SBA did not plan to remedy this issue before awarding the grant and in some instances before disbursing payment."

 

Examples cited by the IG include:

 

A motion picture theater operator received $6.4 million but provided a budget that supported only $5 million.

A theatrical producer received $3.1 million, even though he requested and provided a budget that supported only $2.9 million.

A live performing arts organization operator received $10 million despite a budget supporting only $8.5 million.

 

The IG reviewed 10 sample awards totaling $33.2 million and found none had proper documentation, meaning all were "unauthorized commitments," according to the report.

Rebranded McDonald’s faces key ingredient shortage

The fast-food chain has taken French fries off the menu and expects shortages to continue until fall

 

Former McDonald’s restaurants, reopened in Russia under a new name last month, have removed fries from the menu following a poor potato harvest and supply-chain issues.

 

Oleg Paroev, CEO of the company now called ‘Vkusno i Tochka’ or ‘Just Tasty’, said major French fries producers were unwilling to supply the sanctions-hit nation.

 

“What has happened now is that – due to well-known events – many foreign companies, I would even say all major producers of fries, have refused to deliver this product to Russia,” he said on Thursday in an interview with Russian business channel RBC TV.

 

Paroev added that factories in both “friendly” and “unfriendly” nations are owned by five or six major fries producers registered in unfriendly nations, which have therefore refused to supply to Russia.

 

He also cited a shortage of particular potatoes needed for French fries in Russia, adding that only a few enterprises are capable of processing potatoes for this purpose.

 

A wide range of Western companies were forced to cut business ties with Russia either due to public pressure or under the threat of sanctions imposed on Moscow in response to its military operation in neighboring Ukraine.

 

McDonald’s, the world’s largest fast-food chain, announced plans to shut its restaurants in Russia and suspend all operations in March. In May, the giant agreed to sell its business in the country to an existing licensee, Aleksandr Govor.

 

The first McDonald’s restaurant in Russia opened in central Moscow more than three decades ago. The company had outlets in 850 Russian towns and cities, employed around 62,000 people, and worked with hundreds of local suppliers.

 

McDonald’s has the right to buy back its restaurants in Russia within 15 years.

The secretary of one of the largest nursing unions has fired back at Health Minister Brad Hazzard's "spurious" claim as nurses staged a protest over staff to patient ratios, understaffing and bedding issues amid a third COVID-19 wave.

 

One of the largest nursing unions has fired back at a state minister's "spurious" claim as dozens of nurses across two major Sydney hospitals walk off the job.

 

Night staff from Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals finished their shift on Monday morning and walked off simultaneously to urge the NSW government to legislate nurse to patient ratios and address critical understaffing and bedding issues.

 

Nurses held large placards which read "patients treated in corridors", "not enough nurses for an emergency" and "Perrottet stop ignoring Western Sydney".

 

They could also be heard repeatedly chanting "watch out Perrottet, Western Sydney on our way" while waving their posters to the media.

 

NSW Nurses and Midwives Association Secretary Brett Holmes rubbished suggestions from Health Minister Brad Hazzard that hospital wards could close if the government introduced nurse to patient ratios on a shift-by-shift basis.

 

"There is supposed to be funding available to deliver in our major hospitals, one nurse to four patients and the unfortunate thing is they don’t deliver those on the morning and afternoon shifts when they’re actually required to do so," he told Sky News Australia.

 

"Brad Hazzard’s claim that wards will close is in contrast to the fact Victoria and Queensland have nurse to patient ratios legislated and no wards have been closed as a result of that in Victoria.

 

"So this is a claim that is spurious and is a way of trying to avoid transparency and accountability, which is what they’re all afraid of when it comes to knowing that you need one nurse for every four patients."

 

Mr Holmes flagged union members at Blacktown and Westmead Hospitals want to be acknowledged by management and NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet about the "dire situation" nurses have to deal with each day.

 

He described one situation of an "extraordinary bed block" where 40 patients were admitted but they were forced to wait for a bed in the waiting room.

 

"They’ve been doing their very best and they’ve been trying to raise these issues with management," the secretary said.

 

"They’re very frustrated there is no acknowledgement, there is a bed block problem, there is an internal disaster and efforts need to be made for those patients coming in."

 

Members from the union want Mr Perrottet to visit their hospitals to experience and witness first hand what a day-to-day is like for burnt out nurses.

 

"They need some hope for the future and so far the Premier’s approach has been, 'well we’ve got 10,000 extra health staff' but when you narrow it down, our members are not convinced those health staff are going to end up where they’re needed, at the bedside, and they’re desperately short at the moment," he added.

 

An estimated 2,700 staff have been furloughed due to illness.

Two highly-infectious sub-strains of the Omicron variant, known as BA.4 and BA.5, are sweeping across the world and causing global staff shortages in schools, hospitals, and the private sector.

 

In the 24 hours to Friday morning, 43,491 new cases of Covid were reported across Australia.

 

While the strains are far more contagious than previous sub-variants, governments have resisted reintroducing restrictions because there is no evidence to suggest they are more dangerous than the Omicron and Delta strains, and much less serious than the original form of the virus.

 

On Sunday, there were 337,092 reported cases Australia-wide and 4,719 cases of them were in hospital - meaning 98.6 per cent of cases did not require hospital treatment, and that percentage was likely even closer to 100 per cent when taking into account the countless numbers of positive RAT tests that are unreported.

 

However, that hasn't stopped lockdown-happy extremists from spouting non-official advice to scare others into joining their campaign of fear.

Covid-19 masks to return, German minister says

The effectiveness of face coverings in preventing the spread of the virus is “undisputed,” Marco Buschmann says

Germans will be required to wear face masks indoors again this autumn as part of new measures aimed at stemming the spread of Covid-19, Justice Minister Marco Buschmann has said.

 

The summer wave of Covid-19 is already “losing momentum” in the country, “but we have to take very seriously what awaits us in autumn and winter,” Buschmann said in an interview with Berliner Morgenpost on Friday.

 

The minister said the government was “thoroughly” preparing to tackle the virus, and was confident that effective countermeasures would be finalized by the end of July. These would be discussed with the authorities in Germany’s 16 states next month and sent to parliament in September.

 

“The effectiveness of masks for individuals indoors is undisputed. That’s why a form of mask requirement indoors will certainly play a role in our concept,” he said.

 

According to Buschmann, the cabinet has been already working on developing mask requirements for public transport.

 

However, the minister pointed out that Germany’s new anti-Covid rules would be “proportionate” and aimed at protecting not just the people’s health, but also their fundamental rights.

 

“We agree within the coalition that there will be no more lockdowns, no blanket school closures and no curfews. These are inappropriate tools in the third year of the pandemic,” he said.

 

“Carelessly locking people up at home or bringing public life to a standstill” would be imitating “Chinese conditions,” said Buschmann, who is a member of the anti-lockdown, liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP).

 

He was referring to strict lockdowns introduced in Wuhan, Shanghai and other Chinese cities during the pandemic.

 

The previous German government of Chancellor Angela Merkel also resorted to lockdowns and curfews in 2020 and 2021 to stem rising infections.

 

Such measures are unjustifiable because of “high mental and socio-psychological effects, not to mention the consequences for the education of young people… A millstone was put around the neck of a whole generation of pupils and students,” the justice minister said.

 

Earlier this week, World Health Organization head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called on countries to reinstate “public health social measures like masking, distancing and ventilation.”

 

The pandemic is “nowhere near over,” he insisted, pointing to the rising number of Covid-19 cases this month. During the week of July 4-10, over 5.7 million new infections were reported, a 6% increase compared to the previous week.

[CBS Transcript Here] Hochstein spins the non-existing benefits of the trip by attributing the pre-existing Saudi cease-fire in Yemen as an outcome of Biden talking to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Quite a stretch.

 

Hochstein still thinks there is going to be a way for ‘western governments‘ to place price caps on Russian oil exports by getting the entire planet to agree only to pay Russia a set price for oil. With Russia an OPEC+ member, and the members of OPEC not in ideological alignment with the Biden administration on a host of geopolitical issues, good luck with that. The producers (OPEC) have control over what prices the consumers (Non OPEC) pay; they are not going to give up that mechanism just to please the Biden administration.

 

On the domestic front, while there is little possibility of a global oil production increase from OPEC, Hochstein claims to have assurances from U.S. oil producers they will increase their production capacity by November. At the same time the institutions in charge of Biden energy policy are going to keep targeting the oil producers to destroy them. Quite a weird dynamic. Hochstein finishes by saying solar and windmills are the future of U.S. energy production and if we invest more, well, we can save the planet

 

It is worth remembering what MbS said about the meeting: “We agree on many things, but we differ on a few others. Every country has its own culture and circumstances. I respect yours, you respect mine. Do not impose your culture on us. Do not impose your beliefs on us.” … “We agree we need to do more for climate change, but you guys are doing it wrong by favoring certain energy sources over others. The world needs energy security.
