What is the revelation about? The Revelation of Jesus Christ

Who was the revelation given to? NOT JOHN John is not yet mentioned. It was given to Jesus.

When was the revelation given to him? Before the cross. After the cross he had been restored to glory and needed no revelation.

When he got the revelation, what was shortly to come to pass? The cross.

Did Jesus tell his friends about it? Of course he did. Every parable and miracle speaks of the cross.

Who was the messenger sent by Christ to signify the revelation? The Holy Ghost. He had taught his disciples; they forgot; and then were reminded by the Holy Ghost.

Who did the messenger remind of what he was taught before the cross? John.

MacArthur denies the 'mystery of Christ' hidden in the OT, and must confess that he cannot read the OT the way Jesus and the NT authors did, along with all the others which deny sensus plenior. They define Christ out of large portions of the OT.

Revelation is the 'rosetta stone' to read the mystery hidden from the beginning.

They also deny the teaching of the cross in the Book of Revelation. Why? Because the cross was the culmination of the revelation of the invisible Father through the works, words, life death resurrection and indwelling spirit of the Eternal Word; Christ Jesus.
