ICE finds 73 migrants living in smuggler stash houses in Northwest D.C., internal documents reveal

The migrants, 60 adults and 13 children, were discovered by Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations team as part of an operation that targeted six residential homes believed to be operated by human smugglers. The agents also found $95,000 and a small amount of cocaine, the documents said.

The northwest quadrant contains some of the city's most affluent neighborhoods, and the median home price is $750,000, according to Redfin data. The documents don't give addresses or neighborhoods for the houses where the migrants were living or say how many were being held in a single house.

Undocumented migrants frequently pay human smuggling organizations with ties to drug cartels thousands of dollars to bring them across the U.S.-Mexico border and to keep them hidden as they make their way to their final destinations in the U.S.

Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin says he tested positive for COVID

"This morning, I tested positive for COVID-19," Durbin, D-Ill., said in a message on his website. "Thankfully, I am fully vaccinated and double boosted and only experiencing minor symptoms. Consistent with CDC guidelines, I will quarantine and follow advice from my doctor while I continue to work remotely."

In an evenly split Senate, the Democrats needs all of their members to vote on the budget package, which would send it to Vice President Kamala Harris for a tie-breaking vote. The bill then would go back to the House for a final vote, where the Democrats hold a slim advantage.

Seth Meyers cancels ‘Late Night’ shows after testing positive for COVID again

COVID just can’t get enough of Seth Meyers. Or maybe it’s the other way around. The “Late Night” host, 48, took to Twitter Wednesday to announce that he has contracted the virus for a second time this year.

“After negative tests Monday and Tuesday I tested positive for COVID this morning,” said Meyers, 48. “Canceling shows the rest of this week. Apologies to our scheduled guests and loyal viewers!”

Just after the new year, the “Saturday Night Live” alum also caught COVID. He took to Twitter with a similar update to fans, tweeting that while he was canceling the rest of that week’s episodes, he didn’t feel sick.

“The good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!),” Meyers tweeted at the time.
