Over heckling from protesters, Robert Habeck of the Greens insisted that soaring energy costs are worth it to oppose Russia

German Economy Minister Robert Habeck was drowned out by protesters in Bayreuth on Thursday as he urged Germans to accept the rising cost of energy as the price of standing against Russia. Meanwhile, gas prices are set to soar even further thanks to a new government surcharge.

 

A chorus of jeers and whistles rang out as Habeck took to the stage during a citizens’ forum in the Bavarian town. Holding signs reading “warmonger,” they chanted “get lost”as Habeck attempted to defend his government’s anti-Russia policies in the face of a floundering economy.

 

Habeck insisted that “Germany should not tolerate the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, despite financial disadvantages,”according to a writeup of the event on Stern, a German news site.

 

Participants in the forum, however, told Habeck that these “disadvantages” were hurting them.Germany’s strategy of moving away from Russian energy imports as quickly as possible amounts to “economic suicide,” a solar entrepreneur told the minister, according to coverage by the Frankfurter Allgemeine. “What have the sanctions achieved?” another woman asked, adding that Russia will win in Ukraine regardless of the West’s economic penalties.

 

The outspoken entrepreneur is not the only critic to accuse the German government of committing “economic suicide.” Russian President Vladimir Putin has used the same phrase, while industry leaders in Germany have repeatedly warned that they face economic ruin without a steady supply of cheap Russian gas.

 

Germany relies on Russia to supply around 55% of its natural gas. Despite this reliance, Berlin abruptly canceled the certification of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline within days of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, and supported sanctions that have impeded critical repairs along the existing Nord Stream I line. With the country refusing to extend the lifespan of its last three nuclear power plants, a number of coal plants are due to be reactivated.

 

Habeck claimed on Thursday that rising prices are the fault of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who should be opposed regardless of the cost to Europe. Regarding reduced flow through the Nord Stream 1 line, Habeck told the crowd that Russia refuses to take a serviced turbine from Germany to repair Nord Stream 1. Meanwhile, Russian energy giant Gazprom stated this week that EU and UK sanctions prevent it from taking the vital piece of equipment to Russia.

 

Earlier on Thursday, Habeck told German broadcaster ZDF that Nord Stream 2 would not be revived, arguing that doing so “would be raising the white flag” to Putin.

 

Germany this week also voted in favor of an EU plan asking all member states to commit to a 15% reduction in gas consumption over the winter, while several news outlets reported that a planned government surcharge will see gas bills soar for Germans from October onwards, with the average German household expected to pay an additional €1,000 ($1,016) per year to cook and heat their homes.

Murdoch news site deletes royal ‘pegging’ story – media

 

Unsubstantiated rumors of Prince William’s sexual perversions have spread online in recent days

The Australian has published, and then deleted, a story describing the sex life of an unnamed British royal in graphic detail from its youth-focused news site, the Guardian reported. Based on unverified gossip from a social media account, the story allegedly concerns Prince William and his fondness for “pegging.”

 

The rumor originated on an Instagram gossip page on Thursday, having been sent to the page’s admins by an anonymous tipster. According to the source, the extramarital affair of a British royal is “an open secret in London,”with politicians and news reporters all aware.

 

The source added that “the real reason for the affair was the royal’s love of pegging, which the wife is far too old fashioned to engage in.”

 

“The wife doesn’t mind her and in fact prefers her husband getting his sexual needs fulfilled elsewhere, as long as things don’t become emotional, which was the case with the last woman.”

 

Pegging is a sexual act involving a woman deploying a strap-on phallus on her male partner.

 

Online gossip quickly named Prince William as the royal in question and Kate Middleton as the understanding wife. There is no indication that any of the above is true, but gossip magazines have reported on William’s alleged affairs before, with Buckingham Palace reportedly threatening these outlets with legal action.

 

The Australian, a conservative news outlet owned by media tycoon Rupert Murdoch, published the latest “pegging” story on its youth-focused subsidiary, The Oz, on Friday.

 

The Australian Monarchist League took the publication badly, with chairman Philip Benwell calling it “highly unusual.”

 

“You might expect that in one of the British scandal rags but not in a paper like the Australian,” Benwell told the Guardian. “Their job is to publish news; not innuendo and downright defamation. From the wording of the article itself it’s quite clear they don’t have any evidence for what they are suggesting.”

 

Even if the rumor were true, Benwell insisted that “one’s peccadilloes are a private matter as long as they don’t affect anybody else.”

 

According to The Guardian, shortly after it contacted the newspaper to ask why the rumor had been published, the story and an associated TikTok video were removed. The Guardian said that the story was pulled within minutes of its journalists contacting The Australian’s editor-in-chief.

 

Nevertheless, the hashtag #PrinceOfPegging continued to trend on Twitter into Friday. Even budget airline Ryanair mocked William directly over the story.

The energy crisis in Germany is now a confluence of terrible events that will snowball well into next year.

 

The world’s largest chemical company, BASF, has announced they will cut down the production of ammonia in order to use less natural gas.

 

In the short term this will help Germany build up natural gas supplies to survive a cold winter with predicted rationing still planned. However, in the long term the shortage of ammonia means less fertilizer which will mean future shortages and increased costs for farmers; ultimately creating lower yields next year.

 

FRANKFURT, July 27 (Reuters) – Germany’s BASF (BASFn.DE), the world’s largest chemical company, is cutting ammonia production further due to soaring natural gas prices, it said on Wednesday, with potential ramifications from farming to fizzy drinks.

 

Germany’s biggest ammonia maker SKW Piesteritz and number four Ineos also said they could not rule out production cuts as the country grapples with disruption to Russian gas supplies.

 

Ammonia plays a key role in the manufacturing of fertiliser, engineering plastics and diesel exhaust fluid. Its production also yields high-purity carbon dioxide (CO2) as a byproduct, which is needed by the meat and fizzy drinks industries.

 

“We are reducing production at facilities that require large volumes of natural gas, such as ammonia plants,” BASF Chief Executive said in a media call after the release of quarterly results, confirming an earlier Reuters report.

 

[…] Unlike many European countries, Germany has no liquefied natural gas (LNG) port terminals to replace Russian pipeline gas. That means companies are under political and commercial pressure to reduce gas intensive activities if gas deliveries are cut further.

'Night of Terror': Prison Guard Sells Jail Keys, Allowing Male Inmates to Rape Female Prisoners

Twenty-eight female inmates at an Indiana jail are suing a Clark County jail guard for selling the keys to their cells to male inmates, resulting in a “night of terror,” according to two lawsuits.

 

The suits allege that at least 12 women were raped, harassed, groped, and threatened after a guard, David Lowe, 29, sold the keys to their cells to male inmates for $1,000.

 

Male inmates allegedly wore towels over their heads to hide their identities from cameras as they entered the female prisoner section.

 

“The men repeatedly threatened to sexually assault the women,” according to one lawsuit. The male inmates also allegedly threatened the women if they screamed for help. Two women reported being raped.

 

As per the suits,not one guard came to help the women. The suits also allege that some of the women were left with various injuries, including “bleeding, vaginal tears, and genital herpes.”

 

Shockingly, after the brutal attacks, the guards put the women on lockdown and left the jail lights on for 72 hours. They also commandeered “authorized personal property from the women such as pillows, blankets, and personal hygiene items without any legitimate security reason,” according to court records.

 

Jail guard David Lowe was summarily fired and charged with trafficking with an inmate, felony official misconduct, and aiding escape. Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel is also named in the suits, which accuse him of not training guards adequately.

 

“These systemic failures allowed numerous male assailants to have free run of the jail for several hours, resulting in a night of terror for the Plaintiffs and other victims,” lawyers for the women declared.

West Virginia Might Just Save the Republic If Other Republican State Leaders Get on Board

In recent weeks, West Virginia has demonstrated incredible leadership in the fight to limit the administrative state’s ability to implement policies based on environmental, social, and governance criteria, a practice commonly referred to as ESG. The recent Supreme Court win in West Virginia v EPA challenges the ability of any federal agency to enact sweeping regulations without explicit Congressional authority. Following the decision, West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey wasted no time taking on the Biden administration’s effort to push its environmental agenda through the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

While the AG is fighting ESGs in the court system, State Treasurer Riley Moore has been working to ensure thattaxpayer dollars do not support financial institutions trying to harm the fossil fuel industry. “As Treasurer, I have a duty to act in the best interests of the State’s Treasury and our people when choosing financial services for West Virginia,” Moore said. “Any institution with policies aimed at weakening our energy industries, tax base, and job market has a clear conflict of interest in handling taxpayer dollars.”

Earlier this year, Moore recommended that lawmakers pass Senate Bill 262, which authorizes the Treasurer to publish a Restricted Financial Institution List. The state legislature gave Moore the power to issue the list and disqualify any firm on the list from state banking contracts.

Moore initially identified six financial institutions potentially engaged in boycotts of energy companiesand provided them with written notice. These institutions had 30 days to submit additional information disputing their potential inclusion on the Restricted Financial Institution List. All six institutions submitted responses, which the Treasurer reviewed alongside each institution’s public policy statements.

Today the list of financial institutions no longer eligible to bid on banking contracts is on the Treasurer’s website.Moore has determined that BlackRock Inc., Goldman Sachs Group Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co., Morgan Stanley, and Wells Fargo & Co. are engaged in boycotts of fossil fuel companies. Out of the six financial institutions initially served with notice, U.S. Bancorp was not placed on the List because it demonstrated to the Treasurer that it had eliminated policies against financing coal mining, coal power, and pipeline construction activities from its Environmental and Social Risk Policy.

“Each financial institution placed on the Restricted Financial Institution List today has published written environmental or social policies categorically limiting commercial relations with energy companies engaged in certain coal mining, extraction or utilization activities, rather than considering the financial or risk profile for each company,” Moore said. “These policies explicitly limit commercial engagement with an entire energy sector based on subjective environmental and social policies.”

West Virginia annually collects hundreds of millions of dollars in coal and other fossil fuel severance taxes, representing the third-largest revenue source on average for the state’s General Revenue Budget. During the most recent fiscal year, the nearly $769 million in severance taxes paid by coal, oil, and natural gas companies accounted for 13% of the $5.89 billion in General Revenue funds collected by the state — and that does not include income and other taxes also collected from the employment and economic activity these fossil fuel industries generate.

A recent report published by the West Virginia University College of Business and Economics found that in 2019, coal mining and coal-fired power generated $13.9 billion in total economic activity and supported nearly 33,000 jobs in West Virginia. “While the ‘Environmental, Social and Governance’ or ‘ESG’ movement might be politically popular in California or New York, financial institutions need to understand their practices are hurting people across West Virginia,” Moore said. “I simply cannot stand by and allow financial institutions working against West Virginia’s critical industries to profit off the very funds their policies attempt to diminish.”

West Virginia is furthest down the path of putting companies that seek to punish the fossil fuel industry on notice. Moore authored a letter to Climate Envoy John Kerry in May 2021, informing him that states were going to put the financial institutions on alert. Fifteen state treasurers and comptrollers signed on to the principles Moore expressed in the letter…

'Former Deputy Sheriff' in Stacey Abrams Ad Never Served in Law Enforcement in Georgia

A recent ad from a pro-Stacey Abrams PAC features a “former deputy sheriff” talking about how “dangerous” Georgia’s new constitutional carry law is.

I’ve heard the spot on the radio — a lot — but I hadn’t seen video of the ad, which is entitled “Dangerous” featured a “former deputy sheriff” identified only as “Dennis” wearing a navy blue jacket and driving around in a car. The vehicle and the outerwear are supposed to make you think he’s actually in law enforcement if you’re not looking closely enough.

 

“Dennis” intones the following somber words:

 

As a former deputy sheriff, I’ve seen all kinds of gun crimes. And I can tell you, Brian Kemp’s new law is dangerous. It makes it easier for criminals to carry loaded guns in public. At the movies. In church. No permit. No background check. And Mr. Kemp, I call that criminal carry. Brian Kemp may talk tough, but he makes us less safe. Because the last place we want more criminals with guns is here [pointing at the school he is standing in front of].

 

And of course, the only way to avoid this future in which everybody is just shooting up every building in Georgia is to elect Stacey Abrams.

 

There’s one thing about the ad that’s somewhat disingenuous. Not only has “Dennis” been out of law enforcement for nearly a quarter-century, but he also never served as a sheriff’s deputy in Georgia at all.

 

“‘Dennis’ is LGBT attorney and Democratic activist Dennis Collard, a Florida native who worked as a police officer in the Sunshine State from 1994-1999, his LinkedIn shows,” as Collin Anderson reports at the Washington Free Beacon. “Collard—who, according to his LinkedIn, uses pronouns he/him—went on to join an Atlanta-based law firm in 2003, roughly 13 years before he founded his own divorce firm in Atlanta.”

 

“Collard also filmed an ad for Abrams four years ago, filed a campaign finance complaint against Kemp in 2019, and contributed $500 to Abrams’s campaign in March,” Anderson points out.

 

How telling is it that Abrams had to find someone who hasn’t served in law enforcement for over 20 years and didn’t serve in Georgia to help her push for her policies? It doesn’t come as a shock to members of the law enforcement community in Georgia.

 

“I’m not surprised by that at all when you’ve got someone who talks about defunding the police. Defunding the police would be the worst thing for anybody to do in our state—it’s just absolutely ridiculous,” Jackson County, Ga., sheriff Janis Mangum told the Washington Free Beacon. “And for somebody to think like that, I don’t know that you’re going to have any law enforcement officers get behind you.”

 

Abrams has claimed that she wants to give police officers raises if she gets her shot to ruin Georgia, and that’s all well and good until you pair it with her work with the Marguerite Casey Foundation, a far-left group on whose board Abrams serves.

 

The foundation has pushed not only to defund the police but to abolish the police. It’s no wonder Abrams is having a hard time garnering support from Georgia’s law enforcement community.

 

Abrams is also having to go out of state for donors. Only 14% of her donations have come from within the state, compared to Gov. Brian Kemp, who has received 83% of his funds from Georgians. Remember that her pitch to ruin — I mean run — Georgia was that the Peach State was such a horrible place to live that Georgians should put her in charge of it. It shouldn’t surprise many people that she’s not as popular with the people of Georgia as she would like you to believe.

More than 18 months after describing Hunter Biden’s laptop as a “Breitbart rabbit hole,” far-left CNN has begun to report on it.

 

Yes, when you absolutely, positively need your news more than a year later, you can always count on CNNLOL.

 

Here’s the former, disgraced, and then-CNN chief Jeff Zucker in late 2020 explaining why his fake news network refused to cover and outright buried a legitimate and explosive story about the Biden family’s jaw-dropping corruption:

 

I do think, on the Breitbart, New York Post, Fox News rabbit hole of Hunter Biden which I don’t think anybody outside of that world understood. Last night, the Wall Street Journal reported that their review of all corporate records, showed no role for Joe Biden on the Chinese deal. And yes, I do put more credibility in the Wall Street Journal than I do in The New York Post.

 

If you read between the lines, Zucker really said this:

 

Obviously, the Biden laptop story is accurate and extremely troubling, but CNN doesn’t care about such things. We are here to further the left’s fascist agenda. That’s it. That’s the only reason we exist. That’s who we are and what we do. Truth doesn’t matter to us. Facts don’t matter to us. This kind of scandal and corruption doesn’t matter to us. Our pride and integrity do not matter to us. We are bent over in service to leftism. Period.

 

Oh, but now that Biden is damaged goods… Now that the left wants Biden not to seek reelection… Now the Breitbart rabbit hole is not so much of a rabbit hole.

 

Now that the Breitbart rabbit hole is useful to the left in holding on to the presidency in 2024 with a different nominee than Biden, CNNLOL is all up in that rabbit hole reporting on the laptop.

 

Over and over and over again, fake news outlets like CNN are humiliated by upstart reporters like Breitbart’s Emma-Jo Morris and the New York Post’s Miranda Devine. Not to take anything away from them or their extraordinary work on reporting out the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop with 100 percent accuracy, but that’s how easy it is to humiliate the corporate media nowadays…

 

All you have to do is seek the truth, report the truth, and aim for accuracy.

 

Doing the right thing humiliates the likes of a CNN.
