Is the Garden not metaphorical?
My assumption was that there must have been an ancient advanced civilization that fell, and left some of it's knowledge behind. (If you know anything about the pillars of masonry)
Ancient egypt must have picked this up because they knew of the stars and offered the world "salvation" which modern religions copied. The bastardization is the code they put the truth in during that time, and how it has been further parodied till modern day.
