They should definitely come legally. In any case, they will vote conservative eventually, but not right away. I think their values are more aligned with anons than the pols realize.
Indeed, it’s the chips. I think a lot of people don’t have an appreciation of just how dependent we are on chips in our daily lives, because they are generally not seen, invisible, out of sight out of mind. Taiwan is the chip Goliath. If China were to successfully implement a Taiwan chip blockade, it would be more disruptive to the entire planet than most people probably realize. The China/Taiwan conflict is one of the hills to die on. Sad but true.
