The Master is a recurring character in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who and its associated spin-off works. The character is a renegade alien Time Lord and the archenemy of the title character the Doctor.
I believe the Master in not a single person or entity. The Master is an intangible. The Master is what you choose to be the master of your reality. In the case of the chair I believe the master to be money/control/power/greed/evil. In other words the master is the self or the serving of ones self.
