The Dark Side of the CIA: Assassinations, Drug Trafficking, Influencing Culture and the Press - YT VIDEO

The CIA has been the subject of many controversies, including human rights violations, domestic wiretapping and propaganda, and allegations of drug trafficking.

 

At least since World War II, a distinction has been drawn between assassination of civilian leaders, and targeted killings of leaders of fighting organizations,

including the British-Czech Operation Anthropoid (the killing of SS officer Reinhard Heydrich, acting Reichsprotektor of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia),

a failed British attempt to kill Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, and Operation Vengeance, the shooting down of Isoroku Yamamoto by the US Air Force.

 

The CIA has admitted to involvement in assassination attempts against foreign leaders. Recently, there have been targeted killings of alleged terrorists,

typically with missiles fired from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones.

 

The Pakistani government, which may "have picked some targets of drone attacks"[76] has criticized the US for drones flying over its territory as an infringement of Pakistani sovereignty.

Increased criticism of the CIA drone program has come mostly during the later stages of the war in Afghanistan.

One of the main criticisms of the drone program is that "the surgical use of military force in self-defense itself creates a state of international armed conflict".[76]

Arguments and criticisms of the CIA drone program have been made, but as it is still relatively new, legal rulings have not yet been made.

 

Of the cases cited, it appears that no CIA personnel or even directly controlled foreign agents personally killed any leader, but there certainly were cases where the CIA knew of, or supported,

plots to overthrow foreign leaders. In the cases of Lumumba in 1960/61 and Castro in the 50s and 60s, the CIA was involved in preparing to kill the individual.

In other cases, such as Diem, the Agency knew of a plot but did not warn him, and communications at White House level indicated that the Agency had, with approval, told the plotters the US didn't object to their plan.

The gun or poison, however, was not in the hands of a CIA officer.

 

CIA personnel were involved in attempted assassinations of foreign government leaders such as Fidel Castro.

They provided support to those that killed Patrice Lumumba. In yet another category was noninterference in the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) Coup d'รฉtat in which President Ngo Dinh Diem was killed.

A distinction has been drawn between political assassinations and "targeted killing" of leaders of non-state belligerents.

 

Project MKULTRA, or MK-ULTRA, was the code name for a CIA mind-control research program that began in 1950, involved primarily with the experimentation of drugs and other "chemical, biological and radiological" stimuli

on both willing and uninformed subjects.[71]

 

Brainwashing as a descriptive term entered the lexicon of the CIA in January 1950 .[72] Although widely used in science fiction novels, dystopian depictions of oppressive governments, and other popular culture mediums,

brainwashing as it relates to the CIA was disseminated by the CIA to โ€œfuel public anxiety about communist methodsโ€.[73] MK-Ultra, as verified with unsealed public documents, was a CIA program intended to brainwash.

Independent researchers have verified that the historical explanation for brainwashing in MK-Ultra could have only been accomplished through torture.[74]

Thus, torture on civilians and unwilling participants, itself a humans rights violation, comes to frame.

 

In December 1974, The New York Times reported that the CIA had conducted illegal domestic activities, including experiments on U.S. citizens, during the 1960s.

The report prompted investigations by both the U.S. Congress (in the form of the Church Committee) and a presidential commission (known as the Rockefeller Commission).

The congressional investigations and the Rockefeller Commission report revealed that the CIA and the Department of Defense had in fact conducted experiments to influence and control human behavior

through the use of psychoactive drugs such as LSD and mescaline and other chemical, biological, and psychological means. Experiments were often conducted without the subjects' knowledge or consent.

 

MK-ULTRA was started on the order of CIA director Allen Dulles, largely in response to alleged Soviet, Chinese, and North Korean use of mind-control techniques on U.S. prisoners of war in Korea.

The goal of the experiments was to study mind-control in order to develop methods of interrogation and behavior modification and manipulation, as well as to develop a possible truth drug.

Kagan was far from alone, of course. Headlines in mainstream media fretted over how much harder fighting climate change will now be. And Democrats sounded a five-alarm fire. โ€œOur planet is on fire,โ€ bemoaned Senator Elizabeth Warren, โ€œand this extremist Supreme Court has destroyed the federal governmentโ€™s ability to fight back.โ€ Others threatened to remake the Court. โ€œCatastrophic,โ€ Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wailed. โ€œA filibuster carveout is not enough. We need to reform or do away with the whole thing, for the sake of the planet.โ€

 

Beyond Bidenโ€™s heaping abuse onto the Supreme Court on foreign soil and ridiculously asserting that โ€œthe Court is legislatingโ€ when the opposite is true, the question now is this: How will the president and his leftist handlers respond to this ruling moving forward? Given the fact that the Left never gives up, Biden will likely seek to get around the Court by both ignoring the ruling and moving ahead with his anti-fossil fuel agenda. But he may also declare climate change to be a national emergency in order to enact his agenda without the bothersome need of congressional action.

Back here in the land of Liberty, the Courtโ€™s decision in West Virginia v. EPA is a big win not only for Americaโ€™s coal and fossil fuel industries but for Americaโ€™s commitment to the Constitutionโ€™s separation of powers. It is the legislative branch, not the executive, that has been granted the power to write our nationโ€™s laws. The more this abuse by a bureaucratic state is eliminated, the better it will be for the nation as a whole.

First-time readers will see, and regular readers will know, that I do not show much of the usual market deference for central banks or central bankers. But why should we?

 

Epistemologically, how can any bureaucrat have any true idea of what is happening in any one economy and national financial market, with all its moving parts, let alone when it is cojoined to the global?

 

Methodologically, how can they have any idea what effects their actions will or wonโ€™t engender when based on a theoretical neoliberal economic framework that would be laughed out of the room if presented as any form of hard โ€˜scienceโ€™?

 

Heuristically, after their initial creation to finance wars (such as the Bank of England vs. Napoleon), central banksโ€™ modern-day track record is one of almost continual policy failure โ€“ itโ€™s just that we refuse to take the big picture view to frame it properly, instead focusing on the here-and-now pockets of coincidental historic โ€˜successโ€™. A quick time-line recap of โ€˜amateur decadesโ€™ follows.

 

Pre-WW1 central banks are seen as having worked well under a gold standard. Actually it was British imperialism that tied things together. The global system โ€˜workedโ€™, in a far simpler economy, by ripping off swathes of countries at gunpoint: and even then inflation swung massively positive and negative all the time. The gold peg was what mattered, not inflation. Then America got too big, and Germany got too big for its boots and tried to copy British imperialism. That was the end of the pre-WW1 period.

 

Post-WW1 central banks never all got back on a milquetoast gold standard due to huge war debts, or destroyed societies where they tried if they didnโ€™t let credit boom anyway. All they rustled up was fascism, the Wall Street Crash, the Great Depression, and then Nazism and WW2.

 

Post-WW2 central banks under Bretton Woods and Cold War saw international capital flows regulated and credit rationed or allocated in a hypothecated manner domestically. As such, even their Keynesian models couldnโ€™t screw things up too badly, and we got 25 years of low inflation and solid GDP growth. Yet the Triffin Paradox kicked in, and the US was forced off gold, and Bretton Woods collapsed. Then we saw deregulation of capital flows domestically and externally.

 

Central banks decided that following monetary aggregates was then the key to keeping inflation in check, because โ€œinflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon.โ€ Except this policy didnโ€™t work in the slightest, because once you deregulate markets, especially allowing US dollars to flow to the Eurodollar market, all your M0, M1, M2, M3 data are useless. Central banks had to abandon the policy framework.

 

Only with the emergence of true globalisation did inflation plunge and stay low - due to the breaking of unions, privatisation, and offshoring, especially to cheap-as-chips China. Again, this was nothing to do with central banks โ€“ who nonetheless took all the credit.

 

Such deregulation of course caused rolling financial instability, but the central bank response was always to cut rates into any crisis to blow more air back into the global bubble. Likewise, as society became more unequal and real wages lagged behind productivity growth, the response was to push up asset prices, not wages. Greenspan was the โ€œmaestroโ€. Then we got the GFC in 2008-09, which central banksโ€™ didnโ€™t see it coming at all despite being โ€˜expertsโ€™ in it.

 

Then it was the post-2009 โ€˜new normalโ€™ decade, where central banks tried to get inflation back up to 2% by making rich people even richer with acronyms, and the ECB did โ€œwhatever it takesโ€, leading to yesterdayโ€™s door opening to structural, inefficient, mutualised monetisation of debt.

 

Then we rediscovered fiscal and monetary policy during Covid in 2020โ€ฆand inflation came roaring back.

 

In short, central banks can look smart for a long time, but entirely due to exogenous developments. They can blow things up by being crazily ahead of the curve, or very much behind it. But most of the time they are just making it up as they go along.

 

Arguably the worst sin they can commit is to show they donโ€™t know what they are doing and are making it up as they go along. Amateur hours are dangerous because, as with royalty, the risk is the mystique and magic wears off, and people start asking awkward questions. Or sharpening guillotines.

JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) โ€” School district officials in Alaska investigating how students at a summer child-care program were served floor sealant instead of milk say the two products were not on the same pallet as first believed.

 

A number of agencies are involved in the ongoing investigation into Tuesdayโ€™s incident at a summer program at a Juneau elementary school in which officials say 12 students and two adults drank the floor sealant.

Juneau School District chief of staff Kristin Bartlett said by email Friday that as the investigation has progressed, school officials โ€œhave been able to get clarification on some of the details of what happened.โ€

 

The district in a statement late Thursday said it now understands that in the spring of 2021, a pallet of floor sealant was mistakenly delivered to a district food commodity warehouse at the same time as four pallets of shelf stable milk. The warehouse is intended for food items only.

 

โ€œThe pallet of floor sealant remained untouched in storage with other food products until this week,โ€ when the districtโ€™s food service contractor โ€œran short on milk and sent staff to retrieve shelf stable milk,โ€ the statement said.

Red Flag Gun Laws Set The Stage For Selective Disarmament Of Conservatives

 

In his recent address on gun violence, Joe Biden called for a number of new measures to limit 2nd Amendment rights, but two of them stood out as starkly unconstitutional โ€“ The issuance of an โ€œassault weaponsโ€ ban and the institution of national Red Flag gun laws.

Both are egregious in their violations of the Bill of Rights, but Red Flag laws set an Orwellian standard that will likely be used against conservatives as a whole.

How? We have to examine the situation within the context of Joe Biden's domestic terrorism policies, but first lets explain what Red Flag laws are.

Red Flag laws, also known as โ€œExtreme Protection Orders,โ€ are generally associated with assumptions of mental health and instability (remember the word โ€œassumptionsโ€). The parameters of such laws tend to be incredibly broad and ambiguous, and allow for almost anyone in regular proximity to a person to accuse them of being psychologically unstable. The accusation can come from a family member, a significant other, a work associate, etc.

Once the accusation is made, authorities can confiscate the target person's firearms without due process under the law on the grounds that they present a danger to themselves and others. No jury, no testing, no proof is required to get a court order. It is then up to the accused to prove they are NOT unstable and that they deserve to have their firearms returned. This process could take years, if the guns are ever returned at all.

Some versions of Red Flag bills even allow police to declare you dangerous on their own accord, even without direct contact or a witness. In other words, it's a pre-crime system open for massive abuse. And keep in mind, we live in a digital era in which social media is carefully monitored, often by people that do not have our best interests at heart. Red Flag laws could even extend to comments made and taken out of context on social media platforms.

Any Republican that throws their weight behind Red Flag laws should be treated as hostile to the constitution and the 2nd Amendment in particular. Red flag laws are not a โ€œcompromise,โ€ they are the Holy Grail of gun control. They are the ultimate Trojan Horse. They are the means to deprive anyone of their firearms for any fabricated reason, and they will create an automatic culture of self censorship in which all anti-establishment voices live in terror of speaking out.

Joe Biden called his son Hunter in late 2018 to discuss a New York Times article detailing the younger Bidenโ€™s dealings with a Chinese oil tycoon accused of economic crimes โ€“ telling him, โ€œI think youโ€™re clear,โ€ according to a report Monday.

 

The voicemail, discovered on a cell phone backup contained on Hunter Bidenโ€™s infamous discarded laptop, would appear to contradict President Bidenโ€™s continued denial that he ever talked with his disgraced 52-year-old son about his overseas business transactions โ€” and was aware they could be improper.

 

โ€œHey pal, itโ€™s Dad,โ€ Joe Biden said, the Daily Mail reported. โ€œItโ€™s 8:15 on Wednesday night. If you get a chance just give me a call. Nothing urgent. I just wanted to talk to you.โ€

 

Biden then made his intentions clear.

 

โ€œI thought the article released online, itโ€™s going to be printed tomorrow in the Times, was good,โ€ Biden continued. โ€œI think youโ€™re clear. And anyway if you get a chance give me a call, I love you.โ€

 

During a campaign appearance in Iowa in September 2019, Joe Biden said, โ€œI have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.โ€ His former press secretary, Jen Psaki, and his chief of staff, Ron Klain, have both repeatedly echoed that sentiment.

 

The unearthed voice message renewed calls for a probe of the now-presidentโ€™s handling and knowledge of his sonโ€™s overseas dealings.

 

โ€œJoe Biden said he โ€˜never spokeโ€™ with Hunter about his business dealings. That is simply not true. We need to know what Joe Biden knew and when he knew it,โ€ Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), the No. 3 Republican in the House of Representatives, told The Post Monday.

 

โ€œThis voicemail is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the evidence mounting against the Biden Crime Family. When Republicans take back Congress, we will use our Congressional power of oversight to uncover the truth for every American as a matter of national security.โ€

 

The Biden voicemail followed a Times report on Dec. 12, 2018, detailing Hunterโ€™s dealings with Ye Jianming, a โ€œfast-risingโ€ Chinese oil tycoon who headed CEFC China Energy Company in 2016 before being arrested two years later amid allegations of economic crimes.

What has caused this? Well, like him or hate him, President Trump has played a major part, if only by saying the unsayable. The rationality or not inherent in these Eckhart-style โ€˜unsayingsโ€™, or apophasis, is beside the point: Trumpโ€™s intuitive โ€˜discourse of saying the unsayableโ€™ has taken most of the bolts out of the former Burnham-type ideological structure.

 

But in Europe, two main flaws to the Burnham blueprint have contributed, possibly fatally, to the blueprint crisis: Firstly, the policy of populating Europe with immigrants as a remedy for Europeโ€™s adverse demographics (and to dilute to the point of erasure, its national cultures): โ€œFar from leading to fusionโ€, writes British historian, Niall Ferguson, โ€œEuropeโ€™s migration crisis is leading to fission. The play might be called The Meltdown Pot โ€ฆ Increasingly โ€ฆ the issue of migration will be seen by future historians as the fatal solvent of the EU. In their accounts Brexit will appear as merely an early symptom of the crisisโ€. And secondly, the bi-furcation of the economy into two unrelated and dis-equal economies as a result of the รฉliteโ€™s mismanagement of the global economy, (i.e. the obvious the absence of โ€˜prosperity for allโ€™).

 

Trump evidently has heard the two key messages from his constituency: that they neither accept to have (white) American culture and its way-of-life diluted through immigration; and neither do they wish โ€“ stoically โ€“ to accommodate to Americaโ€™s eclipse by China.

The issue of how to arrest Chinaโ€™s rise is primordial (for Team Trump), and in a certain sense has led to an American โ€˜retrospectiveโ€™: America now may only account for 14% of global output (PPP โ€“ Purchasing Power Parity basis), or 22% on a nominal basis (as opposed to near half of global output, for which the US was responsible at the close of WW2), but American corporations, thanks to the dollar global hegemony, enjoy a type of monopoly status (i.e. Microsoft, Google and Facebook amongst others), either through regulatory privilege or by marketplace dominance. Trump wants to halt this asset from decaying further and to leverage it again as a potent bargaining chip in the present tariff wars. This is clearly a political โ€˜winnerโ€™ in terms of US domestic grass-roots, politics, and the upcoming November mid-term elections.

 

The second strand seems to be something of a Middle East โ€˜retrospectiveโ€™: to restore the Middle East to the era of The Shah, when โ€˜Persiaโ€™ policed the Middle East; when Israel was a regional โ€˜powerโ€™ implementing the American interest; and when the major sources of energy were under US control. And, further, when Russian influence was being attenuated, by leveraging radical Sunni Islam against Arab socialism and nationalism.

Most of the information we receive today does not come to us directly from the natural world. It still comes via the optic nerve to the brain, but the source is digital media displayed on a monitor or device screen.

We are entirely dependent on the integrity of MSM/legacy media for our understanding of the reality we share, and legacy media has betrayed us, engaging in massive deception and running 'psyops,' or 'Information Operations,' stories which use information in ways engineered to divide, confuse and terrify us.

 

Over 90% of all the information we take in about the world, about our reality, our fellow citizens, friends and neighbors, comes to us through a legacy media or big tech driven SCREEN.

 

*The average American household has only 2.75 people, but 3 TVs and 6 Internet devices.

 

*The average American family spends more money each month on media consumption than on groceries or electricity.

 

*The average American consumes 12-15 aggregate hours of digital media per day.

 

*The average American child consumes more than 10 hours of digital media per day.

 

*The average American smartphone is checked every 6-12 waking minutes.

 

With the emergence nonlinear networked communication it became possible to control individual and group information environments at all levels. Modern technologies have made "kinetic war" obsolete.

 

Information warfare destroys people and countries from within. By controlling the minds of citizens, by exploiting conditioned response with prepared information packages targeted individuals or nations can be (and have been) brought to take ANY specified action (including 'genocide') voluntarily.

 

Non-linear or Information war tactics involve turning enemy nations against themselves by infiltrating and subverting moral values, teaching children to indoctrinate other children and gradually degrading the whole information infrastructure, from popular entertainment to text books. Occult materials (eg. Catcher in the Rye) are introduced into high school reading lists. False history and false flags are legitimized, self-destructive behaviors are promoted as fashionable, mental illnesses and perversions like pedophilia are normalized by stages, while subversive 'educational' programs like "common core" are promoted to turn kids off learning.

 

Cultist media gradually, over decades, reduces the public vocabulary, promotes social division, emphasizing inequities, fanning the flames of old grievances, using false flag terrorism to foster or rekindle resentments, falsifying historical records to provide evidence for a shameful cult created US history that never happened. Destroying the story of a nation destroys that nation; the nation falls apart.

 

Mind war, non linear war, is a highly developed form of conflict, with tested doctrines and a protean tactical repertoire. We don't hear about IO, mind war and it's power and tactics because our entire information distribution infrastructure; the entertainment industry and social media/ tech companies are all controlled by a subversive confederacy of deep state criminals.

 

It is well to remember we have ALL been deceived. Some may learn sooner, some learn later; but whenever you do, remember fellow citizens still trapped in the matrix of lies and fears and taboos created by sophisticated IO operators for purposes of social control.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) โ€” A judge on Wednesday issued a scathing ruling againstย the investigator hired by Republicansย to look into the 2020 election in Wisconsin, accusing him of unprofessional and misogynistic conduct, forwarding his decision for possible disciplinary action against Michael Gableman.

Dane County Circuit Judge Frank Remington ordered that Gableman be fined $2,000 a day until he complies with his earlier ruling. He also determined that Gableman violated his oath as an attorney following his โ€œdisruptive and disrespectfulโ€ย appearance in courtย last week. At that hearing, Remingtonย found a defiant Gableman to be in contempt after he refused to answer questions under subpoena in the courtroom. His attorneys tried unsuccessfully to block the subpoena.

โ€œWisconsin demands more from its attorneys,โ€ Remginton wrote. โ€œGablemanโ€™s demeaning conduct has discredited the profession and every other person sworn โ€™to commit themselves to live by the constitutional processes of our system.โ€

The order comes in an open records lawsuit filed by liberal government watchdog group American Oversight. It is one ofย three open records lawsuitsย the group filed against Gableman, Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and the state Assembly. The group has won a series of victories before Remington and another Dane County judge after Gableman and Vos failed to produce the requested records in a timely manner.

Gableman's attorneys did not immediately return messages seeking comment on the judge's order.

Remington chided Gableman for what he called his โ€œunprofessional conductโ€ and for launching into โ€œan irrelevant diatribeโ€ at last week's hearing. Remington forwarded the order to the office that hands down disciplinary actions against attorneys and judges in Wisconsin. Gableman could face additional sanctions that include suspension or revocation of his license to practice law.

One of the most powerful yet unremarked-upon drivers of our current wars over definitions of gender is a concerted push by members of one of the richest families in the United States to transition Americans from a dimorphic definition of sex to the broad acceptance and propagation of synthetic sex identities (SSI). Over the past decade, the Pritzkers of Illinois, who helped put Barack Obama in the White House and include among their number former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, current Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, and philanthropist Jennifer Pritzker, appear to have used a family philanthropic apparatus to drive an ideology and practice of disembodiment into our medical, legal, cultural, and educational institutions.

 

I first wrote about the Pritzkers, whose fortune originated in the Hyatt hotel chain, and their philanthropy directed toward normalizing what people call โ€œtransgenderismโ€ in 2018. I have since stopped using the word โ€œtransgenderismโ€ as it has no clear boundaries, which makes it useless for communication, and have instead opted for the term SSI, which more clearly defines what some of the Pritzkers and their allies are fundingโ€”even as it ignores the biological reality of โ€œmaleโ€ and โ€œfemaleโ€ and โ€œgayโ€ and โ€œstraight.โ€

 

The creation and normalization of SSI speaks much more directly to what is happening in American culture, and elsewhere, under an umbrella of human rights. With the introduction of SSI, the current incarnation of the LGBTQ+ networkโ€”as distinct from the prior movement that fought for equal rights for gay and lesbian Americans, and which ended in 2020 with Bostock v. Clayton County, finding that LGBTQ+ is a protected class for discrimination purposesโ€”is working closely with the techno-medical complex, big banks, international law firms, pharma giants, and corporate power to solidify the idea that humans are not a sexually dimorphic speciesโ€”which contradicts reality and the fundamental premises not only of โ€œtraditionalโ€ religions but of the gay and lesbian civil rights movements and much of the feminist movement, for which sexual dimorphism and resulting gender differences are foundational premises.

 

Through investments in the techno-medical complex, where new highly medicalized sex identities are being conjured, Pritzkers and other elite donors are attempting to normalize the idea that human reproductive sex exists on a spectrum. These investments go toward creating new SSI using surgeries and drugs, and by instituting rapid language reforms to prop up these new identities and induce institutions and individuals to normalize them. In 2018, for example, at the Ronald Reagan Medical Center at the University of California Los Angeles (where the Pritzkers are major donors and hold various titles), the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology advertised several options for young females who think they can be men to have their reproductive organs removed, a procedure termed โ€œgender-affirming care.โ€

 

The Pritzkers became the first American family to have a medical school bear its name in recognition of a private donation when it gave $12 million to the University of Chicago School of Medicine in 1968. In June 2002, the family announced an additional gift of $30 million to be invested in the University of Chicagoโ€™s Biological Sciences Division and School of Medicine. These investments provided the family with a bridgehead into the world of academic medicine, which it has since expanded in pursuit of a well-defined agenda centered around SSI. Also in 2002, Jennifer Pritzker founded the Tawani Foundation, which has since provided funding to Howard Brown Health and Rush Memorial Medical Center in Chicago, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Foundation Fund, and the University of Minnesotaโ€™s Institute for Sexual and Gender Health, all of which provide some version of โ€œgender care.โ€ In the case of the latter, โ€œclientsโ€ include โ€œgender creative children as well as transgender and gender non-conforming adolescents โ€ฆโ€

Kentucky court denies attorney general's appeal to reinstate abortion ban

 

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) โ€“ An appellate court has denied an appeal by Kentucky's attorney general to reinstate the state's abortion ban.

A lawsuit filed Monday on behalf of the state's two abortion clinics โ€” the EMW Women's Surgical Center and Planned Parenthood clinics in Louisville โ€” asked a judge to issue a temporary restraining order to block a state law banning most abortions that took effect after the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling last week to overturn Roe. V. Wade.

Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Mitch Perry granted the temporary restraining order on Thursday to block the law.

 

In a statement late Thursday afternoon, Attorney General Daniel Cameron said he had asked the Kentucky Court of Appeals to stay Perry's decision.

"Every day that goes by that the Human Life Protection Act and Heartbeat Law are prevented from taking effect, more unborn lives will be lost," Cameron said at the time. "These laws represent Kentuckyโ€™s values and its support for life. Weโ€™re moving quickly to defend this important law and to have it restored."

 

Cameron's appeal was denied on Saturday, according to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Kentucky, meaning abortion remains legal in the state.

"This is a great victory for now," the ACLU said in a statement posted to Twitter on Saturday. "We'll fight with everything we have to keep it. No one โ€” no matter where they live โ€” should be forced to remain pregnant against their will."

 

Cameron also tweeted a response following the court's decision, saying his office was "disappointed with the ruling."

"The ruling continues to prevent Kentucky's Human Life Protection Act and heartbeat law from taking effect," he continued. "We intend to bring this matter to the Supreme Court of Kentucky."

More than 130 arrests during EU-wide action against child trafficking

 

Law enforcement authorities identify up to 60 new suspects as well as around 130 potential victims

 

In a joint action supported by Europol, officers of the participating European law enforcement entities and labour inspectorate authorities arrested over 130 criminals and successfully identified around 60 new suspects. The joint action days against trafficking in human beings took place from 6 to 13 of June 2022, and were coordinated by Frontex with the participation of 22 countries alongside INTERPOL.

 

More than 22 480 law enforcement officers took part in the action days, during which checks were carried out at European sea, land, and air borders, with an additional focus on heavily utilised routes into Europe.

 

During the action days, law enforcement also checked the identity of over 11 130 minors, who remain the most vulnerable group within persons being trafficked and exploited. Many fall victim to sexual exploitation, forced begging or different types of forced criminality, including petty crimes and drug trafficking. They also become victims of labour exploitation and domestic slavery.

Europolโ€™s role

 

Europol supported the coordination of the operational activities, facilitated the exchange of information, and provided analytical support. On the action days, Europol activated a Virtual Command Post to facilitate the information exchange in real time, while dedicated analysts cross-checked operational information against Europolโ€™s databases. This provided further investigative leads to the participating national law enforcement authorities.

 

Participating countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

People aged under 40 are being urged to have their hearts checked because they may potentially be at risk of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.

 

The syndrome, known as SADS, has been fatal for all kinds of people regardless of whether they maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle.

 

SADS is an 'umbrella term to describe unexpected deaths in young people', said The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, most commonly occurring in people under 40 years of age.

 

The term is used when a post-mortem cannot find an obvious cause of death.

 

The US-based SADS Foundation has said that over half of the 4,000 annual SADS deaths of children, teens or young adults have one of the top two warning signs present.

 

Those signs include a family history of a SADS diagnosis or sudden unexplained death of a family member, and fainting or seizure during exercise, or when excited or startled, reported news.com.au.

 

Last year a 31-year-old woman, Catherine Keane, died in her sleep while living with two friends in Dublin.

 

Her mother Margherita Cummins told the Irish Mirror, 'They were all working from home so no one really paid attention when Catherine didn't come down for breakfast.'

 

'They sent her a text at 11.20am and when she didn't reply, they checked her room and found she had passed.

 

'Her friend heard a noise in her room at 3.56am and believes now that is when she died.'

 

Ms Cummins stated that her daughter 'went to the gym and walked 10,000 steps every day'.

 

'I take some comfort in that she went in her sleep and knew no pain and I'm grateful for that. I always worried about the kids driving in the car but never saw this coming. I never thought I'd ever lose a child in my life,' Her mother Margherita Cummins told the Irish Mirror, 'They were all working from home so no one really paid attention when Catherine didn't come down for breakfast.'
