I've been a Liverpool fan since 1974 when I was 5 to 6 years old, my first game was in the 1978 to 1979 season, I have seen an awful lot both as a fan on the terraces and as a steward at Anfield, I really expect nothing less from our fans, it's how we are, it's what we do when times require it, we show our utmost humanity and humility with absolute respect even for rivals.
Therefore as a Liverpool fan I shall refrain from praising our fans as that would just be self-praise, maybe even a little egotistical, instead I shall leave fans of other clubs teams everywhere to say what they have to say to highlight the gesture of true fans of Liverpool Football Club, but with total humility I will take time out here to thank each and every fan who was there today that showed respect where it was needed and for making this old fan proud of those who follow in my footsteps in the stands of todays game.
Thank you LFC and thank you Liverpool fans for making this happen, you'll never walk alone, and neither will CR7 and family.
RIP.
