From G7, it was west to east as well. Over Spain, landed at Crete then on to Sing.

Close to solstice, of course.(facepalm). However at 3am, it would be twilight-ish with sun rising in southeast - assuming plane is southwest of Aleutians or Anchorage. If closer to Mt McKinley, then sky is indeed lighter.

 

I guess, another question is which direction plane is flying. I'm assuming easterly which would be odd considering the light that appears to be reflected from snowcapped mountain (s).

 

However, the far left mountain has a weird light emanating from top which could be sunlight effect on snow being blown up and over the mountain.

 

In any case, thanks for pointing out that it wouldn't be "dark" up there at this time of year.
