Gun Businesses Scramble After Credit Card Service Stops Processing Payments on all Gun Purchases Without Warning

Mixing politics and business is bad business. Just ask the NFL.

But that isn’t stopping the credit service, Intuit, from taking a stance against the Constitution.

Intuit, without warning, ceased processing credit card payments at firearm-related businesses across the country, resulting in small businesses scrambling to track down customers to get them to pay their bills.

Intuit maintains its actions are justified because the company has a “face-to-face” policy prohibiting firearms from being directly sold to customers, the New York Post reports. However, many of the guns businesses sold were sent to federally-licensed firearms dealers near the customers, where a background check can be completed prior to possession.

And the payments that are failing to process don’t only involve firearms, but gun safety classes, T-shirts, coffee mugs, safety training classes and gun-related gear.

Intuit, a financial software and tax preparation company that produces TurboTax and QuickBooks, credited the money back to the customers’ accounts, even after the purchase was shipped, the New York Post reports.

Intuit has not returned the Gateway Pundit’s request for comment.

In May, QuickBooks abruptly cut ties with Gunsite Academy, a firearms training center, according to the American Rifleman, arguing the guns and knives for sale on Gunsite’s website violated the face-to-face requirement.

Gunsite also lost thousands of dollars when QuickBooks suddenly credited back sales to customers in lieu of processing the transactions.

Meanwhile, internet giants Google, YouTube and Facebook are also strategizing to silence the gun market, tightening restrictions on which gun-related words, phrases, or videos, are allowed on their platforms.

Google is reportedly adding words like “gun-grips” and “scopes and sights” to its list of prohibited AdWords later this month.

The search engine announced these new changes in an email obtained by Breitbart, in which the subject line reads, “Google AdWords Policy Update – Change to Dangerous products or services Policy.” The email provides a “non-exhaustive list of examples of products for which ads will no longer be allowed,” including “stocks, onversion kits, scopes and sights, tripods and bipods, gun-grips, gun-making instructions and software or equipment for 3D printing of guns or gun-parts.”

In May, days before students around the nation convened for the march for gun control, YouTube announced it was banning all gun demonstration videos in conjunction with Facebook’s incremental prohibitions on gun ads and sales.

Military: Mystery Object over Washington State Wasn't Missile Launch

A weather camera on an island in Washington state on Sunday captured a mystery object that appears to some to be a missile in ascent, Q13Fox.com reported.

The object was spotted at 3:56 a.m. over Whidbey Island, where there is a naval air station. But a spokesman from NAS Whidbey Island said there are no missile capabilities at the base.

As for exposure time, a short fast explains the photo. That contrail is pretty bright which would trigger a fast exposure. Also, modern digital cameras have on-board processing to get sharper pictures that include detecting motion and preventing motion blur. So it is entirely possible that different parts of the image were processed differently to get a clear image of the dark clouds as well as the bright contrail.

Boeing has installed a P-8A Poseidon training center at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station as the base gets ready for the submarine hunter aircraft starting in 2017.

The P-8A training facility will include special ground-based flight simulators and classroom-based materials to train pilots and mission crews to operate the maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft, its sensors, communications and weapons systems without relying on live flights. It opens next week.

The Boeing (NYSE: BA) aircrew training simulators installed at Whidbey Island have the same configuration as the P-8A aircraft which will be stationed there next year. A total of 42 of the military jets will be based there by 2019.

The Navy has spent $200 million to expand its aircraft hangars at the naval station to accommodate them, according to military officials quoted in The Whidbey News-Times.

The P-8A is a modified version of a Boeing 737 passenger jet, with extra powerful engines to run all the patrol and reconnaissance systems equipment inside.

About 70 percent of the training P-8 crews get will happen at the new center, U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Kyle Cozad said in a Boeing news release.

“Integrated, ground-based training is critical to U.S. Navy operations,” said Tom Shadrach, Boeing's P-8 program manager for training systems and government services.

Boeing is on contract to modify and provide updates to the training devices over the next three years.

This is Boeing's second P-8A aircrew training facility. It provided devices, electronic classrooms and course materials equipment at the Naval Air Station Jacksonville in Florida where P-8A aircrews started training in early 2012.

A weather camera photo of what appears to be a missile launching from Whidbey Island has made international news, despite the fact that Naval Air Station Whidbey Island says there are no facilities on the island that could launch a missile.

“There was no missile launch from NAS Whidbey Island,” said base spokesman Mike Welding.

Welding said he asked Naval Air Station Whidbey Island’s air traffic controllers if any activity was recorded, and they reported no flights and nothing “unusual” at the time.

The photo was taken by a Skunk Bay Weather camera, located in Hansville, Wash., around 3:50 a.m. on Sunday, June 10. The photo was posted on a weather and climate blog by University of Washington weather expert Cliff Mass on Monday and was soon picked up by national and international news outlets.

Welding said no one at the base knew what the image captured. The camera is operated by Greg Johnson, of Skunk Bay Weather.

“I knew when I first saw it that it was going to be controversial,” Johnson said in an email.

It's likely that the camera is set for 20 second exposures all the time. You get the fixed objects that way. Not the birds. Not the insect that lands on the lens.

Anyway, when something moves, you get the blur. But when something moves on a set trajectory, you get the blur and then the final exposure.

So think of it this way: a lot of of that is set landscape, but within the fire of the rocket, there is 20 (or maybe 30) seconds of blurry stack upon stack of rocket plume, and then a fixed shot at the end.

Reasonable theory, but you have no evidence. You need to overlay the plane's flight path on the Whidbey area map, and draw a line showing the direction of view of the camera.

It would also help to set up a camera on a tripod, and take two shots 20 seconds apart, of another flight from SEA to an Alaskan destination. That would tell us if a commercial flight would explain the length of that contrail.
