I think most of it is having a very well planned set of symbols and codes.
"Watch the water" can mean a great many things and almost any scenario can be adapted fairly easily to make an obvious gesture with water.
I'm not saying there isn't something crazy going on… But with the right structure, you can create the illusion of foreknowledge without actually having to know that far ahead what is going to happen… Just that certain decisions and events will happen.
Or… Just be like me and say stuff… Only to have it come dangerously close to true for no reason other than I said it. You want to talk about existentialism….
