They don't care. Never have. Just read the cuckoo's egg.
If you read the cuckoo's egg, you'll find the government has never, ever cared about 'net attacks.
They won't care until it happens to them in a way they can't hide.
You can't. You need to use the mouse to select the number, I do it from the right side, and move my mouse left, then copy, and paste after the >>
You strictly don't need a mouse, but it's a bit more work with a kbd, press tab until you have the dotted box around the No. then hold shift and press right arrow. Then copypasta as usual, but I'll you have to edit the No. out from the pasta.
Oh, it's even easier if you just tab until the dotted box is around the post number, then shift+select and copypasta.
Sorry, I meant to reply to you earlier. See my history if you care.
I mean shift+right-arrow, to select.
I use the [post reply] button at the bottom of the page, and see my post history for tricks to copypasta the number you want to reply to.
Seriously, no need to type in the numbers, copypasta works well enough. Ctrl+f c5efb0 for the tips and tricks.
I honestly thought that was common knowledge.
Ctrl+f then type or paste in the number after ID:
Press F3 to skip between posts.
Everything I've mentioned applies to a mac too, except you use the weird symbol instead of ctrl.
You can select the post number with the mouse, I do it from the right, click to the right of the number, then drag left.
Copy and paste as usual with ctrl+c and ctrl+v.
If you want to use the keyboard only, use tab until the dotted line is around the post you want to reply to, then shift+right-arrow to select the entire text; screenshot relevant.
I use [Post a Reply] link at the bottom to get the the popup and type/paste in my text.
Tip: to find someone's post history in a thread, use ctrl+f and type/paste in the number following the ID: For my history in this thread use c5efb0. F3 will then jump between the posts.
Tip: on mac, everything applies, at least on Firefox for mac, except you use the weird symbol instead of ctrl.
Of course I forgot to mention to type the >at the beginning of the line, and paste in the post number you want to refer.
