We always were taught tp be careful loading flares on any a/c… the large ones on B-52's are loaded above your head held in place by hand while another person screws in the torque bolts.

A-10s are back of the landing gear and not high up… but chaff is at the wing tips and another high load from a ladder but not dangerous.
