Rainwater everywhere on the planet is unsafe to drink due to levels of toxic chemicals known as PFAS that exceed the latest guidelines, according to a new study by Stockholm University scientists.
Commonly known as 'forever chemicals' because they disintegrate extremely slowly, PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) were initially found in packaging, shampoo or makeup but have spread to our entire environment, including water and air.
"There is nowhere on Earth where the rain would be safe to drink, according to the measurements that we have taken," Ian Cousins, a professor at the university and the lead author of the study published in Environmental Science and Technology, told AFP.
A compilation of the data since 2010 that his team studied showed that "even in Antarctica or the Tibetan plateau, the levels in the rainwater are above the drinking water guidelines that the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) proposed", he said.
Normally considered pristine, the two regions still have PFAS levels "14 times higher" than the US drinking water guidelines.
The EPA recently lowered its PFAS guidelines significantly after discovering that the chemicals may affect the immune response in children to vaccines, Cousins noted.
Once ingested, PFAS accumulate in the body.
According to some studies, exposure can also lead to problems with fertility, developmental delays in children, increased risks of obesity or certain cancers (prostate, kidney and testicular), an increase in cholesterol levels.

Cousins said PFAS were now "so persistent" and ubiquitous that they will never disappear from the planet.
"We have made the planet inhospitable to human life by irreversibly contaminating it now so that nothing is clean anymore. And to the point that's it's not clean enough to be safe", he said.
"We have crossed a planetary boundary", he said, referring to a central paradigm for evaluating Earth's capacity to absorb the impact of human activity.
However, Cousins noted that PFAS levels in people have actually dropped "quite significantly in the last 20 years" and "ambient levels (of PFAS in the environment) have been the same for the past 20 years".
"What's changed is the guidelines. They've gone down millions of times since the early 2000s, because we've learned more about the toxicity of these substances."
Cousins said we have to learn to live with it.
"I'm not super concerned about the everyday exposure in mountain or stream water or in the food. We can't escape it… we're just going to have to live with it."
"But it's not a great situation to be in, where we've contaminated the environment to the point where background exposure is not really safe."

Mountain biker Rab Wardell has died in his sleep aged 37 - just two days after winning the Scottish championship.
Wardell won the elite men's title at the Scottish MTB XC Championships in Dumfries and Galloway at the weekend.
The rider appeared on BBC Scotland's The Nine programme on Monday evening, describing how he had overcome three punctures to win the race.
The former Commonwealth Games cyclist set a new record time for completing the West Highland Way in 2020.

Wardell, who lived in Glasgow, had been racing mountain bikes since he was a teenager, but only turned professional earlier this year.
His win at Kirroughtree Forest on Sunday was described as a "show of incredible resilience" by British Cycling after Wardell managed to catch the early race leaders to take the win.
Recalling the race the day after on The Nine, Wardell said: "To be honest, it was a bit of a disaster, but I just have to keep on trucking and keep racing.
"I guess I still felt confident that I'd be able to catch the leaders and win so I just gave it my best shot - what more can you do?"
Scottish Cycling said it was "devastated" to confirm the death of its former employee and international mountain biker Wardell.
"We have very little information at this stage, but we send our love and support to his family, friends and all those in our community who knew him," the organisation said on Twitter.

"I'm sure more eloquent words will be written by many but RIP Rab. Our Champion, Our Inspiration, Our Friend."

Insects contain a natural structural component in their exoskeletons called chitin. This fibrous polysaccharide happens to be extremely toxic to humans. Specifically, chitin triggers inflammation and immune responses; to wit:

In a rat study to determine if chitosan, a linear polysaccharide that is made from chitin, is safe to consume the following was found:
There were no histologic changes associated with the observed decreases in vitamin levels; however, the decreases were significant enough to suggest nutritional inadequacies. The longterm effects of vitamin A and vitamin E deficiencies are well-known60-63, and it is unknown what deficiency-related effects would have been observed had these decreased levels been maintained for a longer period of time. When circulating levels of vitamin E, specifically α-tocopherol, are depleted, tissue damage can occur. Vitamin E depletion in humans has subsequently been correlated with anemia, disruption of normal growth, decreased responses to infection, and Chitosan, NTP TOX 93 30 pregnancy concerns62 . Vitamin A is essential in numerous biological processes and pathways, including growth, vision development, immune function, and metabolism. Severe vitamin A deficiency (VAD) results in disruption of normal tissue function and is associated with childhood blindness, anemia, and depressed responses to infection; VAD during a severe infection may result in death61-63 . While the long-term effects of vitamin deficiency in rodents are not as well understood, the available literature on human deficiencies suggests that the decreases in vitamin A and E observed in this study may be detrimental over time.
Basically, consuming insects over time will result in depletion of vitamins. Humans exposed to Modified mRNA gene therapy injections are all in varying degrees afflicted with DEATHVAX™-induced VAIDS, and will be especially susceptible to chitin-rich diets.

Chitin is the second most abundant polymer in nature, providing the osmotic stability and tensile strength to countless cell walls and rigid exoskeletons. Reese et al. have now found that mice treated with chitin develop an allergic response, characterized by a build-up of interleukin-4 expressing innate immune cells. Treatment with a chitinase enzyme abolishes the response. Occupations associated with high environmental chitin levels, such as shellfish processors, are prone to high incidences of asthma, suggesting that this pathway may play a role in human allergic disease.
What would happen to a person that is suffering from COVID and/or the DEATHVAX™ if they were on an insect heavy diet?
What would happen to a person that developed asthma, inflammation, immunocompromisation, vitamin depletion, etc. from an insect heavy diet if they contracted COVID and/or received a spike protein inducing injection?

It seems the problem of chitin has been known for years. I found a 2017 study entitled, "Lowering Chitin Content of Cricket ( Gryllus assimilis) Through Exoskeleton Removal and Chemical Extraction and its Utilization as a Ruminant Feed"…
"Background and objective: Cricket contains high crude protein level but it also contains considerable amount of chitin that may impede nutrient digestion and decrease production performance of animal [sic]."
IE, efforts are underway to get remove the cricket chitin because farm animals get tummy-aches and worse. People OTOH are being told it's "good for your digestion."
But brace yourself… there's more. Crickets can introduce new diseases all by themselves. This from a 2021 study:
"Insects generally have high reproductive rates leading to rapid population growth and high local densities; ideal conditions for disease epidemics. The parasites and diseases that naturally regulate wild insect populations can also impact when these insects are produced commercially, on farms. While insects produced for human or animal consumption are often reared under high density conditions, very little is known about the microbes associated with these insects, particularly those with pathogenic potential…. his will become particularly relevant as-and-when cricket rearing facilities scale up and transform from producing insects for animal feed to producing insects for human consumption."
NOTE: that was published in May 2021. Entomo Farms (formerly Next Millennium Farms) in Canada was founded in 2014, and by Jan. 2021 it was already raising crickets crowded by the millions into a warm, humid enclosed space of 60,000 sq. ft. After 6-8 weeks they are harvested. No mention of checking insect health during that time. In short, they're using the same caution in producing 'healthy' cricket 'food' as they did in producing 'safe and effective' mRNA 'vaccines'.

Part II of yesterday's post is coming tomorrow, had to attend a meeting today with a friend. Nonetheless, I think long-term this is fairly important.
It has been known for quite a while there is a massive push for planetary dietary change, steering the majority of the world’s population from animal protein to different forms of synthetic protein. One favored by many of the ones pushing this change under different agendas is plant-based. If anyone ever annoys you about plant-based protein, just show them this. Plant-based will never have the same nutritional value as animal protein, regardless of how much they “add” or gene edit it.
The other, dare I say more nefarious from my perspective, is bug-based everything. Being vehemently against synthetic forms of protein it never crossed my mind to check for the following. This was brought to my attention my Zack Vorhees, aka Perpetual Maniac, came to fame when he decided to whistleblow Google meddling with many aspects of society.

Parasites were detected in 81% of the sample, and at least 30% are known to be potentially harmful to humans. There is a whole section on each type of parasite that could be harmful to humans in the paper. Quite a few of these usually affect the lungs and the gut. VIRAL SPREAD Warning as health chiefs say monkeypox cases are ‘evading’ jabs
HEALTH chiefs have warned people to be on the lookout for monkeypox as infections have started to 'evade' vaccines.
The bug has been spreading across the globe with 3,025 infections having been picked up in the UK.
In the US, there is now a total of 15,433 cases, with California and New York being hardest hit.
Now, chiefs at the World Health Organisation (WHO) have warned that there has been a number of breakthrough cases of the bug.
This means that people who are vaccinated - are still catching the illness.
Dr Rosamund Lewis, WHO's technical lead for monkeypox, said these infections have been seen in people who had a prophylaxis vaccine following exposure to the virus.
"We have known from the beginning that this vaccine would not be a silver bullet, that it would not meet all the expectations that are being put on it and that we don't have firm efficacy data or effectiveness data in this context.
"The fact that we're beginning to see some breakthrough cases is also really important information because it tells us that the vaccine is not 100% effective in any given circumstance, whether preventive or post-exposure.
"We cannot expect 100 per cent effectiveness at the moment based on this emerging information," she told a press briefing.
Following the outbreak, jabs have been rolled out as a preventative tool.
In the UK they have been given to those most affected and are also being dosed out to people who have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus.
The breakthrough cases comes as the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) yesterday announced that jabs are being 'stretched five-fold' to meet demand.
Chiefs said that jabs will now be piloted in smaller doses, stretching existing supply and protecting more people.
It's a method known as 'fraction dosing' and has commonly been used in other outbreaks.
The rollout will be trialled at one clinic in Manchester and two in London.
This approach to vaccines means that the maximum doses can be given without compromising protections.
The virus can be protected with the Jynneos smallpox vaccine.
But officials said the new data on efficacy 'isn't surprising'.
Dr Lewis added: "It reminds us that vaccine is not a silver bullet, that every person who feels that they are a risk, and appreciates their own level of risk, and wishes to lower their own level of risk have many interventions at their disposal, which includes vaccination where available but also protection from activities where they may be at risk."
The bug spreads primarily through skin to skin contact and can also be spread from respiratory droplets.
The most recent data from the World Health Organisation (WHO) states that globally, there are 41,358 cases of the illness across 94 countries.

Shanghai turns out the lights as China struggles to maintain power supplies amid a record heat wave
China’s unprecedented 71-day heat wave has made it difficult for the nation to keep the lights on in recent weeks.
Suffocating heat and dry conditions have exacerbated an ongoing drought in China’s Sichuan region, which relies on hydropower for 80% of its energy needs. As a result, the province, which is home to more than 80 million people, has been forced to close factories and ask residents to cut their power use.
On Sunday, officials extended the power cuts in Sichuan until Aug. 25, and regions outside of Sichuan started their own cuts. The effects on supply chains and Chinese industry could be devastating due to their indiscriminate nature and the inability of factory managers to find workarounds.
“The situation has worsened in the past few days,” Mirko Woitzik, the global director of intelligence solutions for Everstream Analytics, a supply-chain insights and risk analytics company, told Fortune. “In terms of factory closures, last week was one of the worst weeks in China, with the overall situation approaching levels last seen during the severe COVID-19 lockdown in Shanghai/Kunshan” earlier this year.
Limits on the amount of electricity that can be produced have led to disruptions at more than a dozen auto manufacturers, affected lithium producers, and slowed the processing of semiconductors at key facilities, Woitzik said.
And in Shanghai, China’s financial hub and biggest city, officials said in a notice over the weekend that buildings along the Yangtze River would not be lit on Monday or Tuesday to conserve power, leaving the city’s world-renowned skyline dark.
While power cuts like these to factories and office buildings are having a big impact on Chinese economic growth and supply chains, there’s another hidden bogeyman out there, according to Woitzik.
“If temperatures do not drop in the coming days, transportation will also be impacted—for instance via the Yangtze River, which is similar in its supply chain importance to the Rhine River in Europe, adding to manufacturing supply chain woes,” he said.
Recently, low water levels in the Rhine River prevented cargo vessels from completing shipments, impacting supply chains in Europe. Deutsche Bank even called the river a potential “Achilles' heel” for the bloc as it continues to fight an ongoing energy crisis. If China’s drought doesn’t end soon, the country could face a similar situation.
China’s heat wave has also extended geographically: Nearly 530,000 square miles within the country experienced temperatures above 104° F (40° C) at least once over the last 70 days, according to state media reports. It’s now so bad that more than 260 Chinese weather stations have recorded their highest-ever temperature readings over the past two months.
"I can't think of anything comparable to China's heat wave of summer 2022 in its blend of intensity, duration, geographic extent, and number of people affected,” meteorologist Bob Henson told Axios.
Woitzik pointed out that the Hunan region, just east of Sichuan, was also forced to declare a state of emergency due to the heat wave and drought. The province gets some 40% of its electricity needs from hydropower, and with reservoir levels falling, the region is instituting power cuts as Sichuan did in order to conserve energy.
China’s largest freshwater lake in the Hunan region has shrunk 66% due to the drought and extreme heat, revealing startling images for airplane passengers flying over the area.
That’s not great news, because Hunan produces 22% of China’s rice, which is the staple food of 65% of the country’s population, according to researchers at Hunan Agricultural University; the province is also known as a manufacturing hub for special machinery and metals.

At the height of the pandemic, the United Nations recruited over 100,000 “digital first responders’ to push the establishment narrative on COVID via social media.
The revelation actually slipped out in October 2020 during a World Economic Forum podcast called ‘Seeking a cure for the infodemic’, although it is only going viral on Twitter today.
In the podcast, Melissa Fleming, head of global communications for the United Nations, explains how the COVID pandemic and lockdowns created a “communications crisis” in addition to a public health emergency.
Fleming acknowledged that in order to fight so-called “misinformation” about the pandemic, the UN tapped up 110,000 people to amplify their messaging across social media.
“So far, we’ve recruited 110,000 information volunteers, and we equip these information volunteers with the kind of knowledge about how misinformation spreads and ask them to serve as kind of ‘digital first-responders’ in those spaces where misinformation travels,” Fleming stated.
That was nearly 2 years ago. It is not known how many ‘digital first responders’ have been recruited up to this point.

Scientists in the UK working as advisors for the government admitted using what they later conceded to be “unethical” and “totalitarian” methods of instilling fear in the population in order to control behavior during the pandemic.
As we previously highlighted, the World Economic Forum is now advocating for the merger of human and artificial intelligence systems to censor “hate speech” and “misinformation” online before it is even allowed to be posted.
In what some dubbed “preemptive censorship,” the WEF is creating a system that would block posts from appearing if they fail the censorship filter.
Of course, the WEF, which is infamous for blocking its critics on Twitter, would never abuse such a system to shield itself from scrutiny.
