I know nobody asked but IMO this represents the deep and hard truth about what christianity wants to teach humans; And IMO the only way to defeat fascism:

Be so convicted of peace as a greater good that you would, in the face of the choice, actually literally rather die by the hand of someone giving you orders than act out orders that you disbelieve in. I feel that‘s also kinda the lesson of the nazi thing in ww2 germany

Fascism can only exist with people who value life more than freedom. Christianity and other spiritualities try to solve this with the concept of an afterlife.

But then you might go the conspiracy route and think what if christianity was invented to keep us docile? Maybe what it actually does is that people accept suffering because they anticipate something better waiting for them on the other side?
