RT witnesses UN nuclear experts’ work at Ukraine power plant (VIDEO)

International experts arrived at the Zaporozhye facility amid new escalation

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts have begun inspecting the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, RT reports from the facility.

Russia and Ukraine have been accusing each other of landing shells and missiles dangerously close to reactors and other crucial infrastructure. The inspectors arrived on Thursday, soon after reports emerged of renewed artillery fire and fierce combat in the vicinity of the plant.

“Rafael Grossi and the staff of the Zaporozhye plant are currently inspecting the location where the shells from Ukrainian artillery fell today,” RT’s Alexey Repin reports.

“It wasn’t part of the initial program, but the plans are changing in real time. For example, it was expected that the IAEA team would be traveling across the plant by cars, but, as we are seeing, they prefer to walk,” he says.

Europe’s biggest nuclear plant was seized by Russian troops shortly after Moscow launched a military operation in the neighboring country in late February. Several hours before the IAEA team’s arrival, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that its forces had repelled a Ukrainian attempt to recapture the facility.

International inspectors are tasked with examining the general condition of the plant and assessing the damage to its facilities.

US prepared Ukraine for counteroffensive – CNN

Anonymous sources told the outlet that American assistance included “war-gaming” analytical exercises

American officials helped prepare the Ukrainian military for its counteroffensive against Russian forces in the south of the country, CNN claimed on Thursday, citing anonymous sources.

In its article, the US outlet alleged that this assistance included joint “war-gaming” analytical exercises designed to help the Ukrainians get a clear picture of how much personnel and hardware they would need in different scenarios. US officials, meanwhile, reportedly were able to better understand what kind of equipment, munitions or intelligence Washington could offer to Kiev.

According to the report, which cites multiple US and Western officials and also Ukrainian sources, Washington had suggested that Kiev should keep its counteroffensive focused solely on the Kherson region in the south of the country as opposed to trying to strike on multiple fronts, which had supposedly been the Ukrainians’ initial plan.

When asked for comment by CNN, Pentagon spokesperson Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder refused to go into detail about the nature of what he called “routine military-to-military dialogue,” merely adding that the US provides the Ukrainians “with information to help them better understand the threats they face and defend their country against Russian aggression.” He also noted that Ukraine was the one making the final decision.

While arguing that there is now increased parity between the Ukrainian and Russian militaries, the multiple sources cited in the article pointed out that question marks were still hanging over whether Kiev’s counteroffensive would be successful and how long it would take.

Among the factors that have allegedly tipped the scale more in Ukraine’s favor recently, the anonymous officials named the delivery of sophisticated Western weaponry, including the US-made High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), as well as supposed hostility toward Russian troops among large swaths of the population in Russia-controlled regions of the country. The latter, according to CNN, has been translating into guerilla-style attacks, assassinations and sabotage efforts behind Russian lines.

An anonymous US defense official cited by CNN concluded that much will now depend on how well Russian forces are able to defend the seized territory, adding that the Ukrainian counteroffensive may end up not being as “massive” as some would expect.

On Monday, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that Ukraine’s offensive in the Kherson region had “failed miserably,” with pro-Kiev forces suffering “great losses.” Moscow stated that Ukrainian troops had been unable to make any gains.

Ukrainian troops captured during raid on nuclear plant – official

Three soldiers involved in an attempt to storm the Zaporozhye facility were taken alive, a local administration official has said

Three Ukrainian soldiers, who participated in a botched attempt to capture the Russian-controlled Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant on Thursday morning, have been taken alive, Vladimir Rogov, a council member in the Moscow-allied administration of Ukraine’s Zaporozhye Region, has claimed.

Of the three, two have been injured and are in serious condition, the official said in an interview with Russian television. Doctors are fighting to save them, he added. An estimated 12 Ukrainian troops are still fighting against Russian forces, he claimed.

The Russian Defense Ministry previously claimed that early in the morning, Kiev launched an operation apparently aimed at taking the nuclear site ahead of an inspection by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Some of the Ukrainian troops failed to reach the southern bank of the Dnepr when their vessels were hit and sank, the ministry stated.Up to 60 commandos used speedboats to make a landing, before Russian forces engaged them, the report said.

The power plant and the surrounding city of Energodar have been under Russian control since March. Throughout August, it came under regular fire, which Kiev and Moscow blamed on each other. Ukrainian officials also accused Russia of stationing heavy weapons at the nuclear facility.

The IAEA’s fact-finding mission is expected to arrive in Energodar later in the day, though there were reports that their progress was interrupted by military activity. Russia and Ukraine have accused each other of attempting to derail the inspection.

Putin won't attend Gorbachev's funeral – Kremlin

The Russian president has paid last respects to the former Soviet leader

Russian President Vladimir Putin paid his last respects to Mikhail Gorbachev on Thursday, as he will not be able to attend the official farewell ceremony later this week, the Kremlin has said.

Speaking to journalists during a press call, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov explained that the president will be unable to attend the September 3 funeral for the former Soviet leader due to a tight schedule.

He stated that Putin personally paid his last respects to Gorbachev on Thursday by visiting the Central Clinical Hospital in Moscow, where the former leader’s body is currently being held.

Peskov added that Gorbachev’s funeral will be carried out in part as a state funeral, meaning that there will be a guard of honor and the state will assist in organizing the farewell ceremony on Saturday.

Mikhail Gorbachev passed away at the age of 91 on Tuesday. He was the last leader of the Soviet Union and his tenure saw the fall of the Berlin Wall, the end of the Cold War, and the subsequent breakup of the USSR.

He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1990.

I hope Putin puts some letters on the chairs of traitors that will attend the funeral. A lot of treachery and intrigue in the Russian government.

Moscow teases response to prospect NATO bases in Finland and Sweden

Russia will reinforce its northwestern flank should NATO bases actually materialize, its top diplomat has said

Moscow will have to ramp up its “capabilities”in the northwest if NATO installations appear in Finland and Sweden, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said. The top diplomat made the remarks on Thursday as he met students and staff at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).

“If [NATO] bases are created on the territory of Finland and Sweden, or rather, if they decide to create these bases for them – I am convinced that the Americans will have the key word … Depending on how all of this materializes, of course, we will make a decision to strengthen our capabilities in Russia’s northwest,” Lavrov stated, without providing any further details.

In any case, launching NATO bases in the territory of the two Nordic nations would “radically” expand the “line of contact” between Russia and the alliance, the minister added.

Finland and Sweden scrambled to join the US-led bloc earlier this year, citing the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. While formally keeping a neutral status for decades, the two Nordic nations have been closely cooperating with the military alliance for a long time now.

The accession process ran into a deadlock after a major NATO country, Turkey, objected to the plans to accept Sweden and Finland. Ankara accused the two countries of functioning as “guesthouses for terrorist organizations” and hosting members of outlawed Kurdish groups it deems to be “terrorists.”

The deadlock was ultimately resolved in June during the NATO summit in Madrid after a series of intense negotiations. Turkey agreed to formally back the accession of Stockholm and Helsinki to the military bloc on the condition that they crack down on groups Ankara deems to be “terrorists” and address other bilateral issues, such as an arms embargo. Deliberations on how precisely to implement the agreement, however, are still ongoing.

US seeks to seize Russian corporate jet

The $45-million plane reportedly belongs to Lukoil

The US Justice Department announced on Wednesday it had obtained a warrant to seize a Boeing 737 jet owned by Russian oil major Lukoil.

According to court documents cited in the press release, the aircraft “flew into and out of Russia in violation of the Department of Commerce’s sanctions against Russia.” The statement indicated that the American-made aircraft flew without obtaining licenses from the US Commerce Department.

Airplanes and aircraft parts are subject to export rules because of their potential military use and national security implications.

The plane in question is a $45-million Boeing 737, which bears the tail number VP-CLR and is believed to be in Russia. The jet last entered the US in March 2019when it carried Lukoil executives, including the company’s then-president and CEO, Vagit Alekperov, to Houston, Texas.

The press release noted that since 2014, Lukoil has been subject to sectoral sanctions imposed by the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. Alekperov is also on the US list of sanctioned Russian individuals.

Western countries have been on the hunt for Russian assets to sanction after Moscow launched its military operation in Ukraine in February. Thousands of Russian individuals have since been sanctioned, with their properties and money seized or frozen by the authorities in the US and other countries, as well as by the EU.

Leaked document exposes hidden Western hand behind new British-style anti-worker laws in Ukraine

How London played a role in Zelensky's newest clampdown on the rights of the country's citizens

Part 1 of 3

In a scheme which may have been devised in far away London, Europe's lowest paid workforce has just lost some of the few precious protections it had. The measure flies in the face of Ukraine's apparent ambitions to join the European Union.

On August 22, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky ratified highly controversial new labor laws, ones that have wide-ranging negative implications for the overwhelming majority of the country’s workers.

Collectively known as Bill 5371, the legislation robsup to 70 percent of Ukrainian employees of rights and protections provided under the country’s established national labor law, while severely restricting the power of already-embattled trade unions to organize.

President Zelensky’s ruling Servant of the People party argues the “liberalizing” measures are not only necessary, but long overdue, as a result of Kiev’s “extreme over-regulation of employment” contradicting “principles of market self-regulation [and] modern personnel management,” and creating “bureaucratic barriers both for the self-realization of employees and for raising the competitiveness of employers.”

(Parseltongue speak by Zelensky, we are not taking your rights away, but it’s necessary to do so. Read that paragraph a couple of times)

By contrast, in the lead-up to Bill 5371’s ratification, a great many groups within and outside the country expressed outcry at the proposed measures over many months. The International Labour Organization (ILO), a United Nations agency charged with ensuring social and economic justice by safeguarding international labor standards, including conditions of freedom, equity, security and dignity in workplaces worldwide, published a withering and extensive analysis of the proposals – as did Ukraine’s own parliamentary committee on EU integration.

The body charged that the =•legislation “weakens labor protection, narrows the scope of labor rights and social guarantees of employees, in comparison with the current legislation==,” in contravention of Ukraine’s obligations to Brussels under the terms of its Association Agreement. Andrey Reva, Ukraine’s former minister of social policy, has leveled similar charges:

“Employees will no longer have any protection against arbitrary dismissal. Upon hiring, the employee will be asked to sign an employment agreement, which will allow the employer to obtain unilateral advantages during its conclusion and deprive the employee of any legal opportunities for his defense … Why is this being done right now, when Ukraine has submitted an application to join the European Union and is awaiting its consideration?”

Made in Britain

Many comparisons have been drawn between these ‘reforms’ and notorious “zero-hour” contracts, which offer staffers no paid vacation time, limits on daily or weekly hours worked, notice periods, pension contributions, or even guaranteed work in the first place. They have been dubbed by academics as “a post-modern form of slavery.”

Internationally, the use of zero-hour contracts is almost exclusively restricted to Britain, with retailers, service industry operators, bars, restaurants and fast food enterprises throughout the country using them extensively, despite significant controversy. For example, 90% of McDonald’s workers in the country – amounting to almost 100,000 people – are employed on zero-hour terms…..

>>17476923

Leaked document exposes hidden Western hand…

Part 2 of 3

Due to enormous public and trade union pressure, several major businesses that previously relied heavily on zero-hour workers have phased out their usage entirely in recent years, and there are ongoing efforts to ban such contracts outright. In New Zealand, they were outlawed in April 2016 before even taking off in the country.

One might wonder then why such a uniquely British phenomenon will be adopted by a country with which it has so little in common economically. The answer to that disturbing riddle lies in a leaked document revealing London has been intimately involved in covert informationwarfare operations to sell the deeply damaging new laws to Ukrainians as beneficial, and convince the public to harm their own interests by embracing the change.

The file in question is a communication strategy prepared by research consultancy Abt Associates, on behalf of the British Embassy in Kiev, and Foreign Office unit UK Aid, which officially aims to “achieve sustained poverty reduction,” improve the lot of “poor communities in developing countries,” and advocate for “free and fair work conditions.”

It offers extensive proposals for marketing the new laws, right down to “visual stylistics” to be used in on and offline ad campaigns, social media messaging, and press conferences.

For example, Abt Associates suggested using “contrasting” aesthetics, by “inverting colors” – “light text and graphics on a deep blue background.” The “advantages” of this approach were said to be to be: “brighter, more emotional, eyecatching, will differ from the predominantly white color scheme of publications on the pages of the [Finance] Ministry,” and “gives more opportunities to use creative illustrations.” Nonetheless, the risk that “emotional and vivid communication … will be perceived negatively” was acknowledged.

If that wasn’t manipulative enough, a section offering “recommendations” for “general principles of public communication of the bill”starkly underlines the duplicity and manipulation at the campaign’s core.

Noting that public figures supporting the legislation had to date purely extolled the benefits for employers, Abt Associates proposed inverting this to focusing on ostensible “positive results” for employees.

“Make communication easier and more emotional. Add formats of materials that will contain short simple formulations of key benefits,” the company wrote, going on to endorse surreptitiously enlisting the support of “opinion leaders” such as “journalists and bloggers” via “off-the-record meetings with the participation of the heads of the [Finance] Ministry and (optionally) the authors of the bill.”

“Emotional messages that do not correspond to the tone of the Ministry's communication may be voiced by third parties,” the document explains.

Examples of messaging to be employed included portraying the “main purpose” of the laws to be “[protecting] new opportunities for both employees and employers,” creating “more opportunities and resources for business development,” and helping workers “get legal jobs faster and easier.”

Conversely, a list of “expected results” from the legislation included in the presentation – not intended for public consumption – ranked “increasing investment in Ukraine’s economy by improving business conditions” above most other potential benefits…

Leaked document exposes hidden Western hand…

part 3 of 3

The end of democracy

How much London ultimately spent on this malign effort isn’t clear, although the sums involved could’ve been significant – UK Aid’s budget stands at £150 million, and the Foreign Office spent £40 million on a variety of programs in Ukraine in 2020/21, among them the labor-busting initiative administered by Abt Associates.

Still, British meddling wasn’t entirely successful. After being introduced to parliament in early 2021, legislators consistently refused to back it in significant numbers. This changed on May 12 this year, when the Rada voted in favor of the legislation’s first reading by a landslide – 192 votes to zero.

Pivotal to the laws’ sudden success was support from several previously-opposed political parties and groupings, which were banned less than two weeks earlier by Zelensky’s order. British media outlet openDemocracy speculates this crackdown – and the prospect of MPs belonging to these factions being purged from parliament outright in the future – may have been pivotal in convincing them to vote the ‘right’ way.

Since the 2014 Maidan revolution, Kiev has represented a neverending feeding frenzy for Western governments and corporations. One of the post-coup government’s first acts was to remove constitutional restrictions on foreign shareholdings in Ukrainian businesses, privatization, and land ownership, and accept sizable loans from predatory US-dominated financial institutions such as the IMF, which opened up the country’s vast natural resources and land for untrammeled overseas plunder and profiteering.

While a great many companies and individuals have benefited handsomely from this wellspring – look no further than America’s first family for example – sizable public opposition to impoverishing neoliberal reforms has to date prevented outright enslavement of the population.

Now, though, with protests prohibited under martial law, opposition parties and dissident media outlets remorselessly censored and banned, scores of government critics – including officials themselves – arbitrarily jailed, and a brutal nationwide effort to root out “traitors” underway, the ability – or willingness – of Ukrainians to take to the streets and oppose measures such as the new anti-worker legislation is harshly truncated, if not eliminated entirely.

In the process, Zelensky’s ruling party is free to steamroll any and all laws through parliament it wishes – and the West’s total takeover of Kiev can finally be completed.

It seems odd that Ukraine is imposing such discredited and reviled arrangements on its citizens when public yearning for EU enrolment is at an all-time high, and high-ranking officials, including Zelensky, are demanding Brussels allow the country immediate entry to the bloc – the terms of Bill 5371 are contrary to Union workers’ directives and protections.

Perhaps, though, London and Washington, for all their pronouncements to the contrary, are unconcerned about Kiev becoming a member – in fact, that might suit their interests better

According to new statistics released on Friday, homicide, rape and burglary are all up in liberal-leaning Atlanta in 2022.

Homicides are up 43% so far this year compared with the same period in 2021, according to the Atlanta Police Department, and are on track to beat last year's 30-year high of 158 killings.

There have been 20 homicides in Georgia's capital city thus far, compared with 14 at the same point last year. (as of Aug. 2, 2022 there are now 88 homicides, we should end at 170 for 2022 with 5 months to go)

With 37 reported so far this year, compared with 11 at the same time in 2021, rapes are up 236%, police said.

Burglaries have increased 18%, with 229 reported as of Feb. 12, compared with 191 at the same time last year, and shoplifting cases are up 4%, with 164 cases so far this year, compared with 157 at this point in 2021.

After the theft of more than 2,000 guns from vehicles last year, Atlanta police said that irresponsible gun ownership contributed to many of the shootings this year, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Some city officials blamed the crime spike on former Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, asserteing that the progressive Democrat didn't do enough to fight crime, andBottoms said local Republicans were at fault for lenient gun laws and lifting the pandemic lockdown.

US democracy about to crumble, most Americans think – poll

The pessimistic trend shows a nine-point increase since January

More than two out of three Americans – 67% – believe their country’s democracy is on the verge of collapse, according to a Quinnipiac University poll published on Wednesday. The number represents a nine-point increase since the question was previously asked in January.

Concern for the future of US democracy is something voters from both parties can agree upon, with 72% of registered Democrats and 70% of registered Republicans, as well as 69% of independents, reporting they were worried about its imminent demise. Meanwhile, over three quarters of women are concerned about the country’s future as a democracy, while just 58% of men are, and whites are more likely to fear collapse than blacks, if only by one percentage point (70% vs. 69%).

The poll was not the first to note the American voting public’s concern about the survival of its government, which is technically a constitutional republic rather than a true democracy. An NBC News poll conducted last week suggested just over one in five (21%) voters rank threats to democracy as their primary concern, with the high cost of living and the economic recession as runners-up.

READ MORE: White House deems Trump supporters ‘extremist threat’

The subject of US democracy in peril has gotten heavy rotation in the news cycle of late, with US President Joe Biden denouncing supporters of former President Donald Trump as an “extremist threat to democracy” whose philosophy amounts to “semi-fascism” during a meeting with donors last month. Trump has in turn accused the Democrats and his administration of political persecution following last month’s nighttime FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago compound in search of classified documents.

However, both candidates leave voters cold, according to the Quinnipiac poll, which showed 62% of respondents don’t want to see Trump stage an electoral comeback in 2024 while 67% don’t want to see Biden try to hang on to the presidency either.

Ukraine conflict will be over soon – Belarusian president

The Ukrainian troops on the front lines see the situation as “hopeless,” Alexander Lukashenko claimed

The denouement in the Ukraine conflict is coming soon, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has predicted, alleging that there are tensions brewing between the country’s president, Vladimir Zelensky, and the army.

Speaking on Thursday during a virtual class for all Belarusian school and university students, Lukashenko said that “Ukraine is being divided” and that a “conflict is brewing between the president and the military.”

According to the Belarusian leader, the Ukrainian army is the only power in the country that can “pound the table and say: let’s talk or else Ukraine will be wiped off the face of the earth.”

Lukashenko argued that the country's military, which has first-hand experience of what is actually happening on the frontline, “sees that it’s hopeless.”

Meanwhile, he warned that the conflict in the neighboring country could spiral into the “most dreadful confrontation” involving the use of weapons of mass destruction.

He also stated that “Russia cannot suffer a defeat there,” adding that Minsk stands firmly by its ally, Moscow.

Lukashenko went on to call out those who describe Russia and Belarus as “aggressors.”He argued that Moscow’s military operation was pre-emptive in nature, helping to avert an imminent Ukrainian missile strike on the southern regions of Belarus, including against Russian forces that had not yet been withdrawn from the country after military drills.

He also alleged that theRussian military took out Ukraine's missile units half an hour before President Vladimir Putin announcedthe start of Moscow’s offensive in late February.

Lukashenko suggested that the West – and the US in particular – had been behind the preparation for the planned attack against Belarus, claiming those powers would still “do everything to bring Russia to its knees.”

“And Russia cannot kneel,” he concluded.

My dream scenario.

Man I really want the Q team and Military to take down every media first (actually thats first in martial law right).

I want it to happen like this: The primary “rational Q” (that posted the most), along with the “Angry Q” (that wrote in all caps), mozy up to every head of the media being arrested & shut down, and say,“Hi I'm rational Q and this guy is Angry Q, now do you believe us? Oh and wait until you meet Q+!”

(they should include any Q that posted also)

That would be fucking great!

Poland names amount of WWII reparations it seeks

Warsaw has estimated its World War II losses at $1.32 trillion and wants Germany to pay up

(This leader looks like “the ghost within the machine”, creepy)

Polish leaders have provided a new assessment of the damage the country sustained at the hands of Germany during World War II, evaluating it at 6.2 trillion zlotys ($1.32 trillion).

During a news conference on Thursday, which marked 83 years since the start of World War II, the leader of the country’s ruling nationalist Law and Justice party (PiS), Jaroslaw Kaczynski, announced the release of a report on the costs Poland suffered during the years of Nazi occupation.

“We not only prepared the report but we have also taken the decision as to the further steps,” Kaczynski said during the report’s presentation, announcing that Warsaw intends to officially request reparations from Germany, which he described as a “long and not… easy path.”

He added that Warsaw believes Germany is capable of paying the bill, and insisted the move would serve “true Polish-German reconciliation,” which would be based on “truth.” Kaczynski also suggested that the current estimate of damages may not be final.

“The sum that was presented was adopted using the most limited, conservative method, it would be possible to increase it,” the politician said.

Polish lawmakers previously estimated the damages sustained during WWII at $850 billion in 2019, and while the PiS has repeatedly called for compensation from Germany since it took power in 2015, Poland had never officially demanded reparations before.

Germany’s Foreign Ministry responded to Kaczynski’s request by stating Berlin’s position is unwavering and that it considers the matter of reparations long closed.

Berlin argues that Poland had forfeited claims to reparations while it was still part of the Soviet Bloc, and that Berlin already paid out compensation to members of the bloc in the years following the war – and that lost Polish territories were compensated with some of Germany’s pre-war lands.

Nevertheless, Kaczynski maintains that “Germany has never really accounted for its crimes against Poland,” pointing to the fact that Germans accused of war crimes lived in impunity in Germany after the war.

It’s estimated that around 6 million Poles, including three million Polish Jews, were killed by Nazi Germany during World War II, while much of the nation’s industry, infrastructure, and culture suffered huge losses during the six-year conflict.

Germany wants to retake Polish soil — official

Poland's top banker makes outlandish claim as Warsaw squares off against EU over cash

Berlin has plans to subjugate Eastern Europe and has designs on the lands that it lost in the past, Adam Glapinski the head of the National Bank of Poland has claimed, adding that his country stands as a bulwark against those ambitions.

Glapinski offered the grim prediction about Warsaw’s current diplomatic confrontation with Berlin in an interview with Gazeta Polska, which was published on Wednesday.

Since the reunification of Germany in 1990, Berlin’s strategic goal is to “regain in some form their former lands, which are now within Polish borders, and subordinate the entire belt of countries between Germany and Russia,” the Polish official said.

Germany’s vision for the future of Europe is “the cooperation of two empires: Russian and German, with countries in the middle falling into the spheres of influence of both powers,” Glapinski added. Brexit has opened a window of opportunity for that, he believes.

Warsaw gained sovereignty over some German lands in the wake of World War II. Dubbed “Recovered Territories” in Poland, they include eastern German provinces that used to be part of Poland in various periods of its history and the land of the Free City of Danzig.

The land swaps were partially meant as war reparations to Poland and partially as compensation for the Polish territories that the Soviet Union incorporated as its own after the war and which are now part of Belarus and Ukraine. Ethnic Germans were deported from the Recovered Territories while Polish settlers were brought in.

Glapinski suggested that the basic national interests of Germany require it to secretly root for Russia against Ukraine while publicly supporting Kiev with military aid. He said that a strong independent Ukraine allied with the US “does not fit” into the scenario of the Russian-German alliance.

Poland, with its independent domestic policy and refusal to join the eurozone is another obstacle, he added. “Having a sovereign central bank, our own money – the zloty – and our dynamic economic growth is what hurts them the most,” Glapinski said, referring to the leadership of the EU. Like other top Polish officials, the head of the central bank perceives the EU as a vehicle for German interests.

Glapinski accused former Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk of being Germany’s hatchet man for Poland. The opposition politician who also served as president of the European Council, was “tasked” with overthrowing Poland’s conservative government and making the country adopt the euro, Glapinski claimed. Tusk will be offered to “become the head of the European Commission” as a reward, he predicted.

(I’m sure glad I didnt grow or live in the EU, its a mess over there)

Titanic wreckage captured in ‘highest-ever quality’ footage

OceanGate Expeditions released stunning video of the remains located 4,000 below the Atlantic near Canada

The remains of the Titanic cruise liner have been filmed in the “highest-ever quality” by deep-sea exploration company OceanGate Expeditions, which published stunning 8K footage of the wreck on YouTube on Tuesday.

The new footage shows the ship’s bow, portside anchor, hull number one, as well as an enormous anchor chain in stunning detail.

“One of the most amazing clips shows one of the single-ended boilers that fell to the ocean’s floor when the Titanic broke into two,” OceanGate’s Rory Golden said, adding that the boiler was one of the first things spotted when the wreck of the Titanic was first identified in 1985.

Another detail that had never been captured on film before was the name of the ship’s anchor maker, Noah Hingley & Sons, which is clearly visible in the new footage on the portside anchor.

“It is exciting that, after so many years, we may have discovered a new detail that wasn’t as obvious with previous generations of camera technologies,” the veteran diver said.

OceanGate says such videos help experts examine the slight changes in the wreck’s condition as it slowly decays at 4,000 meters below the Atlantic around 400 nautical miles away from Newfoundland, Canada.

The Titanic was one of the largest passenger liners of its time and famously sank on April 15, 1912 after hitting an iceberg during its maiden voyage from Southampton, UK to New York City.

Of the estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard the liner, more than 1,500 people perished, making the incident one of the deadliest sinkings of a superliner or cruise ship at the time.
