According to a spokesman for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission,Kodak’s uranium was highly enriched – to a level approaching 93.4%That is the type of weapons-grade material that U.S. government agencies are trying to prevent terrorists from getting their hands on.(For the sake of comparison, Iran claims to have enriched uranium to 20%, leading Western nations to impose sanctions on the country in an effort to prevent Iran from pursuing further enrichment.)

This is from 2012, but it really is shocking to me because I lived there my whole life just about, & majority of my family members worked there their whole lives, but I have NEVER heard about this. They apparently gave it back to the Government in 2007.

You'd think that would have been a topic at Sunday dinners, but nope.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I always just assumed they had shit like that since they can hide it so damn easily among all of their side hustles. But of course 2007/08 is around the time my life went to shit, so I may have missed it.

Probably…He also got them back in the news during the beginning of the China virus because Kodak said they would start making medical shit. I didn't know they bought Pharma Companies too. This is all so weird to me because Kodak has been a part of my life in some way since before I was born, part of everyday life, & I swear I thought they only made Cameras & Film. Everyday I realize I was an absolute clueless child who never paid any attention to anything apparently.

In my defense, I was always the one who was literally last to know about everything because no one ever told me shit.

>Silver iodide

Makes sense. I remember multiple times through out the years where family members would be given car wash tickets to go bring their cars because a chemical of some sort leaked out. MORE than a few times this has happened.

The Industrial Park wasn't miles & miles away from civilization either. There are/were neighborhoods that but up right against it, views from their windows are smoke stakes & parking lots on one side & 4 lanes of traffic on the other.

Kodak ended up buying a lot of those houses. They also used those houses for employees to live. Knowing that the soil & air was pure shit…

Wow. Haven't thought about this stuff in YEARS.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazarus_Group

Lazarus Group (also known by other monikers such as Guardians of Peace or Whois Team[1][2][3]) is a cybercrime group made up of an unknown number of individuals run by the North Korean state. While not much is known about the Lazarus Group, researchers have attributed many cyberattacks to them between 2010 and 2021. Originally a criminal group, the group has now been designated as an advanced persistent threat due to intended nature, threat, and wide array of methods used when conducting an operation. Names given by cybersecurity organizations include HIDDEN COBRA (used by the United States Intelligence Community to refer to malicious cyber activity by the North Korean government in general)[4][5] and Zinc (by Microsoft).[6][7][8]

Fuuuck…

>> In fact, nobody in the city—officials, police or firemen—or in the state of New York or anywhere else knew about it until it was recently leaked."

I feel bad for the person who leaked it. I hope they took precautions. I mean, it should be known by now tho, since thats from 2012. Still surprises me this is the first im hearing of it
