The main suspect in the recent stabbing rampage in Saskatchewan died Wednesday afternoon shortlyafterpolice captured him.
Myles Sanderson went into medical distress after he was arrested and was pronounced dead at a hospital in Saskatoon, Rhonda Blackmore, commanding officer of the Saskatchewan RCMP, told a news conference Wednesday night.
Ten people were left dead and another 18 [666 proxy] injured in the James Smith Cree Nation area and the nearby village of Weldon, Sask., over the Labour Day weekend. Those tallies do not include Myles or his brother, Damien Sanderson, who was also facing charges before he was found dead on Monday.
RCMP say Myles was arrested near Rosthern, Sask., at about3:30 (33 Freemasons) p.m. CST Wednesday, shortly after RCMP issued an alert saying a person with a knife was travelling in a vehicle and had last been seen in Wakaw, about 90 (10x3x3 > 33Freemasons) kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
Blackmore said the RCMP doesn't have a motive for the attacks.
"Now that Myles is deceased we may never have an understanding of that motivation," she said.

Canadian Finance Minister and Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland is one of the likely candidates set to replace NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who is leaving his post next year, according to an article by CBC published on Wednesday.
Freeland, who is an ethnic Ukrainian, is yet to give any official statements on the matter. However, CBC cited “at least four different sources” who said that the official’s name had been tossed around for several months in international defense and security circles who were eyeing to replace Stoltenberg.
The term of Stoltenberg, who has headed NATO since 2014, was set to end on September 30, but it was prolonged to late 2023 amid the conflict in Ukraine.
The search for his replacement has been ongoing since the early part of 2020, according to a senior source within NATO. Freeland is reportedly around “the middle of the pack” of women who could be handed the reigns to the US-led military bloc.
“There are several very qualified women out there who would be very good candidates,” a top NATO official told CBC last month on the condition of anonymity. “It seems there is some momentum for a woman to be the next [secretary general].”
According to an article by Politico published last year, Brussels is also considering three former presidents of NATO states, namely Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic of Croatia, Dalia Grybauskaitė of Lithuania, and Kersti Kaljulaid of Estonia. Sources in Brussels have told CBC that Freeland’s name appeared on the list of candidates last fall.
Freeland is said to be versed in Eastern European politics and history as well as “the inner workings of the Kremlin” and reportedly speaks English, Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, French, Spanish, and Italian, all of which could potentially make her the ideal candidate amid escalating tensions between the West and Russia.

Russia is gradually moving away from ‘unreliable’ currencies, the Russian president says
Traditional reserve currencies like the US dollar and the euro have lost their credibility as a basis for international settlements, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.
“Western countries have undermined the foundations of the global economic system. There is a loss of confidence in the dollar, the euro and the pound sterling as currencies in which to conduct transactions, hold assets and reserves,” he stated at the seventh annual Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
He also noted that this tendency pushes Russia and many other nations to switch to other currencies, most notably the Chinese yuan.
“Step by step we are moving away from the use of these unreliable, compromised currencies. And by the way, even US allies are gradually reducing their savings and payments in dollars, according to statistics… I will note that yesterday Gazprom and its Chinese partners agreed to pay for gas in rubles and yuan in a 50/50 split,” Putin said.

Pentagon Quietly Deployed Deadliest Artillery Shell in US’s Inventory to Ukraine: Report

Moscow, officials from the Donbass republics, and even the regional administrations of Ukrainian territories liberated by Russian forces have repeatedly charged Kiev with the use of its Western-sourced artillery systems to indiscriminately target civilian infrastructure.
The Pentagon has committed $92 million to replenish the US military’s stocks of the M982 Excalibur, a 155mm artillery shell with an effective firing range of up to 57 km, Bloomberg has reported, citing a DoD accounting document.
The $92 million was spent “for the procurement of replacement M982 Excalibur munitions transferred to Ukraine in support of the international effort to counter Russian aggression,” the document said.
"If Bloomberg’s reporting is accurate, the document is the first direct confirmation that Washington is supplying the shells to Kiev, with US officials previously remaining tightlipped or wriggling their way out of direct answers to media questions on the matter."
Apart from the US,Canadais the only other NATO power to have sent Excaliburs to Ukraine, with Ottawa announcing in April that an unknown number of the shells would be gifted to Kiev alongside four pieces of field artillery.
Manufactured by Raytheon and BAE Systems, the Excalibur is equipped with a GPS guidance system enabling it to hit within 2-4 meters of its intended target, and can be used by a variety of self-propelled and towed howitzers and field guns, including the M109, M198, M777, and the PzH2000 – all of which have been sent to Ukraine in recent months.' …
Along with the Excalibur replenishments, the Pentagon is spending $337 million to replace other artillery rounds sent to Ukraine, $260.6 million for GMLRS rockets, $745.5 million to stock up on Stingers, $471 million on 16 HIMARS, and $263 million to reimburse the US Air Force for lugging US equipment across the Atlantic to Europe….

Judge Terry Doughty ruled Tuesday that the Biden administration has 21 days to turn over all relevant emails sent by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and Dr. Anthony Fauci to social media platforms regarding alleged misinformation and the censorship of social media content.
Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry are in a lawsuit with Biden officials and the social media giants. The Attorneys General accused the Biden administration of suppressing the constitutionally protected right to free speech on elections, the COVID-19 lab leak theory, coronavirus-related lockdowns and other issues.
Jim Hoft of The Gateway Pundit is a key plaintiff in a lawsuit filed by the State of Missouri. State of Missouri ex rel. Schmitt, et al. v. Joseph R. Biden, Jr., et al., 3:22-cv-01213. The lawsuit alleges that the public statements, emails, and recently released documents, establish that the President of the United States and other senior officials in the Biden Administration violated the First Amendment by directing social-media companies to censor viewpoints that conflict with the government’s messaging on Covid-19 and election integrity concerns relating to the 2020 general election, and is a direct assault on the First Amendment.

A group of 19 Republican attorneys general sent a letter Aug. 4 to BlackRock in response to BlackRock chief client officer Mark McCombe’s claims that the company does not have a stance on energy investments and merely offers clients a range of investment options in the energy sector. The attorneys general argued that BlackRock used its management of state pension funds to pressure companies to comply with its climate agenda.
BlackRock’s senior managing director Dalia Blass released a response to the attorneys general on Tuesday saying that the asset manager, which manages roughly $8.5 trillion worth of investments, never forced firms to adhere to specific emissions targets and does not coordinate its investment decisions or shareholder voting with climate activist parties, according to a letter.
“While BlackRock participates in a wide variety of organizations on topics of interest to our clients, we have made it clear that we do not coordinate our votes or investment decisions with external groups or organizations,” the letter states.
The Republican attorneys generals expressed skepticism concerning McCombe’s claims that BlackRock remains neutral on the use of fossil fuels and assurances that BlackRock does not place its climate agenda over its duties to its clients. The attorneys general asserted that McCombe’s guarantees are in conflict with BlackRock’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
“Every company and every industry will be transformed by the transition to a net zero world,” BlackRock CEO Larry Fink stated in a 2022 letter to CEOs. “The question is, will you lead, or will you be led?”
The attorneys general alleged that the firm’s actions “may violate multiple state laws” as BlackRock may be motivated by its climate agenda instead of its official responsibility to make money for its clients. BlackRock’s investment strategy could convert state pension funds into ESG-focused activist portfolios if the SEC’s recently proposed definition of an ESG fund is adopted, which could violate state laws that require a sole focus on financial return for investors, according to the attorneys general.
However, Blass claimed that BlackRock’s ESG investments are “entirely consistent” with its “fiduciary obligations” to clients. Blass also denied the attorneys’ general allegations that BlackRock boycotts energy companies, adding that the company invested “approximately $170 billion” in U.S. energy companies on behalf of its clients.
“BlackRock’s views on the investment risks and opportunities posed by climate change and the low-carbon transition are by no means unique,” her letter states. “In 2020, 92% of the S&P 500 and 70% of the Russell 1000 published sustainability reports.”
BlackRock’s move to clarify its investment strategies and climate agenda comes amid a recent crackdown on ESG investing in Republican-run states. Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida banned state fund managers from considering ESG standards when managing state funds on Aug. 23.
Texas also declared in August that BlackRock boycotts the fossil fuel industry and moved to remove state pension funds, worth billions of dollars, from the company’s management, according to The Financial Times.
BlackRock did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Facebook Engineers: We Have No Idea Where We Keep All Your Personal Data
In a discovery hearing, two veteran Facebook engineers told the court that the company doesn’t keep track of all your personal data.
In March, two veteran Facebook engineers found themselves grilled about the company’s sprawling data collection operations in a hearing for the ongoing lawsuit over the mishandling of private user information stemming from the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
The hearing, a transcript of which was recently unsealed, was aimed at resolving one crucial issue: What information, precisely, does Facebook store about us, and where is it? The engineers’ response will come as little relief to those concerned with the company’s stewardship of billions of digitized lives: They don’t know.
The admissions occurred during a hearing with special master Daniel Garrie, a court-appointed subject-matter expert tasked with resolving a disclosure impasse. Garrie was attempting to get the company to provide an exhaustive, definitive accounting of where personal data might be stored in some 55 Facebook subsystems. Both veteran Facebook engineers, with according to LinkedIn two decades of experience between them, struggled to even venture what may be stored in Facebook’s subsystems. “I’m just trying to understand at the most basic level from this list what we’re looking at,” Garrie asked.
“I don’t believe there’s a single person that exists who could answer that question,” replied Eugene Zarashaw, a Facebook engineering director. “It would take a significant team effort to even be able to answer that question.”
When asked about how Facebook might track down every bit of data associated with a given user account, Zarashaw was stumped again: “It would take multiple teams on the ad side to track down exactly the — where the data flows. I would be surprised if there’s even a single person that can answer that narrow question conclusively.”
In an emailed statement that did not directly address the remarks from the hearing, Meta spokesperson Dina El-Kassaby told The Intercept that a single engineer’s inability to know where all user data was stored came as no surprise. She said Meta worked to guard users’ data, adding, “We have made — and continue making — significant investments to meet our privacy commitments and obligations, including extensive data controls.”
The dispute over where Facebook stores data arose when, as part of the litigation, now in its fourth year, the court ordered Facebook to turn over information it had collected about the suit’s plaintiffs. The company complied but provided data consisting mostly of material that any user could obtain through the company’s publicly accessible “Download Your Information” tool.
Facebook contended that any data not included in this set was outside the scope of the lawsuit, ignoring the vast quantities of information the company generates through inferences, outside partnerships, and other nonpublic analysis of our habits — parts of the social media site’s inner workings that are obscure to consumers. Briefly, what we think of as “Facebook” is in fact a composite of specialized programs that work together when we upload videos, share photos, or get targeted with advertising. The social network wanted to keep data storage in those nonconsumer parts of Facebook out of court.

Early life and career
Fayed was born in Alexandria and was the eldest son of the Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Al Fayed, former owner of Harrods department store. He was the half-brother of Omar, Camilla, Karim and Jasmine Fayed. Dodi's father was also the former owner of Fulham Football Club and the Hôtel Ritz Paris.[1] Dodi's mother was the Saudi Arabian author Samira Khashoggi,[2] the daughter of Muhammad Khashoggi and the niece of the Saudi billionaire arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi.[2][3]
Fayed was a student at Collège Saint Marc before attending the Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland.[4][5] He also briefly attended Sandhurst.[1] After completing his education, he served as an attaché at the United Arab Emirates Embassy in London.[5] Fayed was the first cousin of the late Washington Post Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was assassinated in the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul, Turkey in 2018.[6]
Fayed was the executive producer of the films Chariots of Fire, Breaking Glass, F/X, F/X2, Hook, and The Scarlet Letter. He also served as the executive creative consultant for F/X: The Series. Fayed also worked for his father on Harrods' marketing.[7]

Two plaintiffs, Mohamed Al-Fayed and a British magazine, brought a FOIA case against numerous federal agencies seeking access to records concerning Princess Diana’s death. Al-Fayed’s son, Dodi, had also died in the crash with the princess. In a matter of first impression, Judge Garland’s opinion for the court held that a district court must apply de novo review to denials of expedited processing under FOIA, not under the more deferential standard set out in the Administrative Procedures Act, as the government had argued. The opinion concluded that the requests did not meet the standard for expedited processing, however, noting that “[a]lthough these topics may continue to be newsworthy, none of the events at issue is the subject of a currently unfolding story.”

Uncovering the Army of Federal Censors
I’ve recently posted twice on the case of Missouri v. Biden, in which the states of Missouri and Louisiana — along with four private plaintiffs (Jay Bhattacharya, Martin Kulldorff, the non-profit Health Freedom Louisiana, and yours truly) represented by the New Civil Liberties Alliance — are suing the Biden Administration for alleged free speech violations. Specifically, the executive branch of the federal government has been colluding with social media to censor any content on social media platforms — Twitter, YouTube (owned by Google), and LinkedIn (owned by Microsoft), Facebook and Instagram (both owned by Meta) — any content that questions, challenges, or contradicts the government’s covid policies.
While private companies might arguably choose to censor content on their platforms, the government cannot pressure or coerce private companies to censor disfavored content. Any such action is clearly a violation of the free speech guaranteed by the First Amendment of the US Constitution. As we articulate in our latest legal brief: “Under the First Amendment, the federal Government should have no role in policing private speech or picking winners and losers in the marketplace of ideas. But that is what federal officials are doing, on a massive scale.”
Our joint statement on discovery disputes legal brief, filed with the court and made public today, reveals scores of federal officials across at least eleven federal agencies have secretly communicated with social-media platforms to censor and suppress private speech federal officials disfavor. This unlawful enterprise has been wildly successful. Here are just a few excerpts from this document, which includes attachments of hundreds of pages of emails and other governmental and Big Tech internal communications as supporting evidence. These documents were obtained after we requested the following information on discovery:
Plaintiffs served interrogatories and document requests upon the Government Defendants seeking the identity of federal officials who have been and are communicating with social-media platforms about disinformation, misinformation, malinformation, and/or any censorship or suppression of speech on social media, including the nature and content of those communications. Plaintiffs also served third-party subpoenas on five major social-media platforms – Twitter, Facebook and Instagram (both owned by Meta), YouTube, and LinkedIn. On August 17, 2022, the Government Defendants provided objections and responses to the Plaintiff States’ discovery requests, and began a rolling production of documents that was completed on August 26, 2022.
Secretary Mayorkas of DHS [Department of Homeland Security] commented that the federal Government’s efforts to police private speech on social media are occurring “across the federal enterprise.” Doc. 45, ¶ 233. It turns out that this statement is true, on a scale beyond what Plaintiffs could ever have anticipated. The limited discovery produced so far provides a tantalizing snapshot into a massive, sprawling federal “Censorship Enterprise,” which includes dozens of federal officials across at least eleven federal agencies and components identified so far, who communicate with social-media platforms about misinformation, disinformation, and the suppression of private speech on social media—all with the intent and effect of pressuring social-media platforms to censor and suppress private speech that federal officials disfavor.

BACKGROUND The Tragedy

On August 31, 1997, at approximately 12:25 A.M. local time, an automobile carrying Diana Francis Spencer, Princess of Wales, and Dodi Al Fayed crashed into the thirteenth pillar in the tunnel under the Place d'Alma in Paris, France. Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed were killed along with the automobile's driver, Henri Paul, a French security officer at the Ritz Hotel. Bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones was the sole survivor.
The French Investigation

Shortly after the tragedy, Premier Juge d'instruction Hervé Stephan, a French investigating magistrate, instituted an investigation. On or about January 29, 1999, it was announced that the investigation had ended and concluded that the tragedy was caused by drunk driving by Henri Paul, excessive speed and a dangerous stretch of road. Nine photographers and a press motorcyclist were placed under formal investigation — a step immediately before being formally charged — for manslaughter and failing to render aid to accident victims. On or about September 3, 1999, Judge Stephan dismissed all charges against the photographers and motorcyclist.

The decision to formally end the investigation is presently under appeal by Al Fayed, and judicial proceedings are scheduled for September 2001.
Richard Tomlinson

On or about August 28, 1998, Tomlinson informed investigating magistrate Hervé Stephan that Henri Paul, the chauffeur killed in the tragedy, had been on the M16 payroll for at least three years. In or around September 1998, Tomlinson traveled to the United States onboard a Swiss Air Flight in order to appear on a NBC television program to discuss his recent revelations. Upon arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, Tomlinson was escorted off the plane by United States government officials and detained for several hours. He was never permitted to enter the United States, and instead was placed back on a plane to Europe.

In the 1960s, Israelis stole uranium from a lab in Pennsylvania to construct a secret nuclear arsenal. And the spying and theft of U.S. technology continues.
Israel is the most active “friendly nation” when it comes to stealing U.S. secrets, and when its spies are caught, they are either sent home or, if they are Americans, receive a slap on the wrist.
And Israel gets away with killing American citizens — literally — in the cases of Rachel Corrie and Furkan Dogan of the Mavi Marmara.
And let’s not forget Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians which has made the United States complicit in a crime against humanity.
Tel Aviv has also played a key role in Washington’s going to war against Iraq, in promulgating a U.S.-led global war on terror against the Muslim world, and in crying wolf over Iran, all of which have served no U.S. interest.

AFFIDAVIT OF RICHARD TOMLINSON (TO JUDGE HERVE STEPHAN)
I, Richard John Charles Tomlinson, former MI6 officer, of Geneva, Switzerland hereby declare:
I firmly believe that there exist documents held by the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) that would yield important new evidence into the cause and circumstances leading to the deaths of the Princess of Wales, Mr Dodi Al Fayed, and M. Henri Paul in Paris in August 1997.
I was employed by MI6 between September 1991 and April 1995. During that time, I saw various documents that I believe would provide new evidence and new leads into the investigation into these deaths. I also heard various rumours which though I was not able to see supporting documents I am confident were based on solid fact.
In 1992, I was working in the Eastern European Controllerate of MI6 and I was peripherally involved in a large and complicated operation to smuggle advanced Soviet weaponry out of the then disintegrating and disorganised remnants of the Soviet Union. During 1992, I spent several days reading the substantial files on this operation. These files contain a wide miscellany of contact notes, telegrams, intelligence reports, photographs etc, from which it was possible to build up a detailed understanding of the operation. The operation involved a large cast of officers and agents of MI6. On more than one occasion, meetings between various figures in the operation took place at the Ritz Hotel, Place de Vendome, Paris. There were in the file several intelligence reports on these meetings, which had been written by one of the MI6 officers based in Paris at the time (identified in the file only by a coded designation). The source of the information was an informant in the Ritz Hotel, who again was identified in the files only by a code number. The MI6 officer paid the informant in cash for his information. I became curious to learn more about the identity of this particular informant, because his number cropped up several times and he seemed to have extremely good access to the goings on in the Ritz Hotel. I therefore ordered this informants personal file from MI6's central file registry. When I read this new file, I was not at all surprised to learn that the informant was a security officer of the Ritz Hotel. Intelligence services always target the security officers of important hotels because they have such good access to intelligence. I remember, however, being mildly surprised that the nationality of this informant was French, and this stuck in my memory, because it is rare that MI6 succeeds in recruiting a French informer. I cannot claim that I remember from this reading of the file that the name of this person was Henri Paul, but I have no doubt with the benefit of hindsight that this was he. Although I did not subsequently come across Henri Paul again during my time in MI6, I am confident that the relationship between he and MI6 would have continued until his death, because MI6 would never willingly relinquish control over such a well placed informant. I am sure that the personal file of Henri Paul will therefore contain notes of meetings between him and his MI6 controlling officer right up until the point of his death. I firmly believe that these files will contain evidence of crucial importance to the circumstances and causes of the incident that killed M. Paul, together with the Princess of Wales and Dodi Al Fayed.

The most senior undeclared officer in the local MI6 station would normally control an informant of M. Paul's usefulness and seniority. Officers declared to the local counter-intelligence service (in this case the Directorate de Surveillance Territoire, or DST) would not be used to control such an informant, because it might lead to the identity of the informant becoming known to the local intelligence services. In Paris at the time of M. Paul's death, there were two relatively experienced but undeclared MI6 officers. The first was Mr Nicholas John Andrew LANGMAN, born 1960. The second was Mr Richard David SPEARMAN, again born in 1960. I firmly believe that either one or both of these officers will be well acquainted with M Paul, and most probably also met M. Paul shortly before his death. I believe that either or both of these officers will have knowledge that will be of crucial importance in establishing the sequence of events leading up to the deaths of M.Paul, Dodi Al Fayed and the Princess of Wales. Mr Spearman in particular was an extremely well connected and influential officer, because he had been, prior to his appointment in Paris, the personal secretary to the Chief of MI6 Mr David SPEDDING. As such, he would have been privy to even the most confidential of MI6 operations. I believe that there may well be significance in the fact that Mr Spearman was posted to Paris in the month immediately before the deaths.
Later in 1992, as the civil war in the former Yugoslavia became increasingly topical, I started to work primarily on operations in Serbia. During this time, I became acquainted with Dr Nicholas Bernard Frank FISHWICK, born 1958, the MI6 officer who at the time was in charge of planning Balkan operations. During one meeting with Dr Fishwick, he casually showed to me a three-page document that on closer inspection turned out to be an outline plan to assassinate the Serbian leader President Slobodan Milosevic. The plan was fully typed, and attached to a yellow "minute board", signifying that this was a formal and accountable document. It will therefore still be in existence. Fishwick had annotated that the document be circulated to the following senior MI6 officers: Maurice KENDWRICK-PIERCEY, then head of Balkan operations, John RIDDE, then the security officer for Balkan operations, the SAS liaison officer to MI6 (designation MODA/SO, but I have forgotten his name), the head of the Eastern European Controllerate (then Richard FLETCHER) and finally Alan PETTY, the personal secretary to the then Chief of MI6, Colin McCOLL. This plan contained a political justification for the assassination of Milosevic, followed by three outline proposals on how to achieve this objective. I firmly believe that the third of these scenarios contained information that could be useful in establishing the causes of death of Henri Paul, the Princess of Wales, and Dodi Al Fayed. This third scenario suggested that Milosevic could be assassinated by causing his personal limousine to crash. Dr Fishwick proposed to arrange the crash in a tunnel, because the proximity of concrete close to the road would ensure that the crash would be sufficiently violent to cause death or serious injury, and would also reduce the possibility that there might be independent, casual witnesses. Dr Fishwick suggested that one way to cause the crash might be to disorientate the chauffeur using a strobe flash gun, a device which is occasionally deployed by special forces to, for example, disorientate helicopter pilots or terrorists, and about which MI6 officers are briefed about during their training. In short, this scenario bore remarkable similarities to the circumstances and witness accounts of the crash that killed the Princess of Wales, Dodi Al Fayed, and Henri Paul. I firmly believe that this document should be yielded by MI6 to the Judge investigating these deaths, and would provide further leads that he could follow.
During my service in MI6, I also learnt unofficially and second-hand something of the links between MI6 and the Royal Household. MI6 are frequently and routinely asked by the Royal Household (usually via the Foreign Office) to provide intelligence on potential threats to members of the Royal Family whilst on overseas trips. This service would frequently extend to asking friendly intelligence services (such as the CIA) to place members of the Royal Family under discrete surveillance, ostensibly for their own protection. This was particularly the case for the Princess of Wales, who often insisted on doing without overt personal protection, even on overseas trips. Although contact between MI6 and the Royal Household was officially only via the Foreign Office, I learnt while in MI6 that there was unofficial direct contact between certain senior and influential MI6 officers and senior members of the Royal Household. I did not see any official papers on this subject, but I am confident that the information is correct. I firmly believe that MI6 documents would yield substantial leads on the nature of their links with the Royal Household, and would yield vital information about MI6 surveillance on the Princess of Wales in the days leading to her death.
I also learnt while in MI6 that one of the "paparazzi" photographers who routinely followed the Princess of Wales was a member of "UKN", a small corps of part-time MI6 agents who provide miscellaneous services to MI6 such as surveillance and photography expertise. I do not know the identity of this photographer, or whether he was one of the photographers present at the time of the fatal incident. However, I am confident that examination of UKN records would yield the identity of this photographer, and would enable the inquest to eliminate or further investigate that potential line of enquiry.
On Friday August 28 1998, I gave much of this information to Judge Herve Stephan, the French investigative Judge in charge of the inquest into the accident. The lengths which MI6, the CIA and the DST have taken to deter me giving this evidence and subsequently to stop me talking about it, suggests that they have something to hide.
On Friday 31 July 1998, shortly before my appointment with Judge Herve Stephan, the DST arrested me in my Paris hotel room. Although I have no record of violent conduct I was arrested with such ferocity and at gunpoint that I received a broken rib. I was taken to the headquarters of the DST, and interrogated for 38 hours. Despite my repeated requests, I was never given any justification for the arrest and was not shown the arrest warrant. Even though I was released without charge, the DST confiscated from me my laptop computer and Psion organiser. They illegally gave these to MI6 who took them back to the UK. They were not returned for six months, which is illegal and caused me great inconvenience and financial cost.
On Friday 7th August 1998 I boarded a Qantas flight at Auckland International airport, New Zealand, for a flight to Sydney, Australia where I was due to give a television interview to the Australian Channel Nine television company. I was in my seat, awaiting take off, when an official boarded the plane and told me to get off. At the airbridge, he told me that the airline had received a fax "from Canberra" saying that there was a problem with my travel papers. I immediately asked to see the fax, but I was told that "it was not possible". I believe that this is because it didn't exist. This action was a ploy to keep me in New Zealand so that the New Zealand police could take further action against me. I had been back in my Auckland hotel room for about half an hour when the New Zealand police and NZSIS, the New Zealand Secret Intelligence Service, raided me. After being detained and searched for about three hours, they eventually confiscated from me all my remaining computer equipment that the French DST had not succeeded in taking from me. Again, I didn't get some of these items back until six months later.
Moreover, shortly after I had given this evidence to Judge Stephan, I was invited to talk about this evidence in a live television interview on America's NBC television channel. I flew from Geneva to JFK airport on Sunday 30 August to give the interview in New York on the following Monday morning. Shortly after arrival at John F Kennedy airport, the captain of the Swiss Air flight told all passengers to return to their seats. Four US Immigration authority officers entered the plane, came straight to my seat, asked for my passport and identity, and then frogmarched me off the plane. I was taken to the immigration detention centre, photographed, fingerprinted, manacled by my ankle to a chair for seven hours, served with deportation papers (exhibit 1) and then returned on the next available plane to Geneva. I was not allowed to make any telephone calls to the representatives of NBC awaiting me in the airport. The US Immigration Officers - who were all openly sympathetic to my situation and apologised for treating me so badly - openly admitted that they were acting under instructions from the CIA.
In January of this year, I booked a chalet in the village of Samoens in the French Alps for a ten day snowboarding holiday with my parents. I picked up my parents from Geneva airport in a hire car on the evening of January 8, and set off for the French border. At the French customs post, our car was stopped and I was detained. Four officers from the DST held me for four hours. At the end of this interview, I was served with the deportation papers below (exhibit 2), and ordered to return to Switzerland. Note that in the papers, my supposed destination has been changed from "Chamonix" to "Samoens". This is because when first questioned by a junior DST officer, I told him that my destination was "Chamonix". When a senior officer arrived an hour or so later, he crossed out the word and changed it to "Samoens", without ever even asking or confirming this with me. I believe this is because MI6 had told them of my true destination, having learnt the information through surveillance on my parent's telephone in the UK. My banning from France is entirely illegal under European law. I have a British passport and am entitled to travel freely within the European Union. MI6 have "done a deal" with the DST to have me banned, and have not used any recognised legal mechanism to deny my rights to freedom of travel. I believe that the DST and MI6 have banned me from France because they wanted to prevent me from giving further evidence to Judge Stephan's inquest, which at the time, I was planning to do.
Whatever MI6s role in the events leading to the death of the Princess of Wales, Dodi Al Fayed and Henri Paul, I am absolutely certain that there is substantial evidence in their files that would provide crucial evidence in establishing the exact causes of this tragedy. I believe that they have gone to considerable lengths to obstruct the course of justice by interfering with my freedom of speech and travel, and this in my view confirms my belief that they have something to hide. I believe that the protection given to MI6 files under the Official Secrets Act should be set aside in the public interest in uncovering once and for all the truth behind these dramatic and historically momentous events.

Court grants sex offender Rabbi Berland trip to Uman despite stay of exit order
Cult leader required to leave NIS 650,000 in guarantees; permission for pilgrimage to Ukraine given despite severe government warning against travel to war-torn country
The Jerusalem District Court granted permission on Thursday for convicted sex offender Rabbi Eliezer Berland to visit Uman in Ukraine for Rosh Hashanah, despite a stay of exit order on him and severe government warnings against all travel to the war-torn country.
The court ordered Berland, 84, to deposit a guarantee of NIS 650,000 ($190,000), of which NIS 200,000 must be in cash. Hundreds of his followers from the Shuvu Bonim cult are expected to join him on the trip.
Berland submitted a request to the court on Sunday to approve a two-week trip to Uman and proposed a NIS 150,000 guarantee. Berland had already bought tickets to fly on September 18 before the hearing. He is slated to fly to Vienna and from there fly to Poland and then travel by land to Ukraine.
Victims of Berland opposed granting him permission to leave the country, telling the court that he had received “endless leniencies” during the criminal procedures against him due to his advanced age and supposed ill health.
“This same sex offender is asking to make a long trip with intermediary stops to a war zone for which the Israeli government (and even the Ukrainian government) has issued a clear and severe warning to avoid traveling to Ukraine, and especially Uman,” the victims wrote in their submission to the court asking it to reject Berland’s request.

Oswald LeWinter ("LeWinter"), 70, has claimed to be a former United States intelligence operative for more than two decades. He has been linked to several high profile controversies here in the United States and Europe, all of which involved allegations of intelligence connections and specifically the CIA. These controversies have included LeWinter providing what apparently turned out to be disinformation regarding "October Surprise", which involved allegations that individuals associated with Ronald Reagan's presidential campaign delayed the release of American hostages in Iran in order to defeat President Jimmy Carter; claims by LeWinter that the CIA was involved in the 1986 assassination of former Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme; his appearance in a 1994 documentary on the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 entitled The Maltese Double Cross in which LeWinter claimed that the CIA knew that Libya was not responsible for the terrorist attack; and a 1998 attempt, more fully described below, to sell fraudulent CIA documents concerning the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed.

In his book October Surprise (1991), Professor Gary Sick describes LeWinter as an "intelligence operative", who was a "graduate of University of California at Berkeley and had a master's degree in English literature from San Francisco State." "He spoke German and English, but he had also acquired a working knowledge of Hebrew, Persian, and French, and some Urdu" Sick stated LeWinter "had served with U.S. forces in Vietnam and also claimed long experience with various U.S. and Israeli intelligence agencies."

Upon information and belief; LeWinter previously formally maintained a relationship with the CIA, at least to the extent he provided information to the Agency during the 1970s. The CIA presently maintains in its possession records that confirm a relationship, as well as information pertaining to the fraud attempt described below.
Ex-Virginia election official charged with corruption related to 2020 election
Prince William County is one of the most influential counties in Virginia elections.
The former registrar in one of Virginia's most important electoral counties has been indicted for corruption and false statements related to the 2020 election, Attorney General Jason Miyares announced Wednesday.
Ex-Prince William County voter registrar Michele White is charged with two felony counts alleging corrupt conduct as an election official and making a false statement, and one misdemeanor charge of willful neglect of duty by an elected official, Miyares said.
White resigned abruptly last year without explanation. Miyares' announcement did not specify exactly what activities were involved in the criminal conduct, except to say it occurred between August and December 2020.
But the county's Office of Elections said White's conduct "did not impact the outcome of any election contest" and was discovered by her successor.
Eric Olsen, the current director of elections/general registrar, reported "discrepancies" to the Commissioner of Elections and State Board of Elections earlier this year, which led to the investigation by Miyares, the office said in a statement.
"Many improvements and best practices have been adopted to ensure a safe and transparent voting experience for the voters of Prince William County," the statement said.
Prince William County is one of Virginia's fastest growing communities in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. and has been a bellwether in recent years for elections.

Intervention By Former Senator George Mitchell
59 On behalf of AJ Fayed, former Senator George Mitchell, who recently served as a key negotiator in the Northern Island peace process, was retained in 1999, to facilitate the transfer of information held by the CIA and DoD components including, but not limited to, the DIA and NSA.

An inquiry for information was submitted by letter dated March 29, 1999, by Senator Mitchell to Secretary of Defense William Cohen. By letter dated April 23, 1999, Secretary Cohen informed Senator Mitchell that neither the DIA or NSA "possesses information that would have any bearing on, or would be at all useful to, the pending French judicial inquiry."

Notwithstanding Secretary Cohen's response, Robert Tyrer ("Tyrer"), the chief of staff to Secretary of Defense William Cohen, reviewed potentially responsive classified records which are in the possession of the DIA and NSA. Tyrer refused to publicly share his findings, but informed Senator Mitchell by letter dated October 4, 1999, that there was no information related to Princess Diana's death or that Henri Paul was connected with foreign intelligence services.

This latter point directly contradicts what attorney-turned journalist Gerald Posner was told by his American intelligence sources, as reported in the September 1999 issue of Talk magazine. Posner wrote that:
Paul was in regular contact with the Direction Général de la Sécurité Extérieure (DGSE) — the French equivalent of the CIA — an arrangement not unheard of among security staffers at premier international hotels. (Paul also had less formal relations with the Direction de la Surveillance du Territoire and the Renseignements Généraux, both intelligence gathering divisions of the French national police.) In fact, according to an American law enforcement official and an American intelligence agent, Paul spent the last several hours before the crash with a security officer from the DGSE." The DGSE is the French intelligence service. This information is additionally supported by former M16 officer Tomlinson's allegations that Paul was in the paid employ of M16.

Posner also confirmed in his article that the NSA had secretly intercepted and recorded telephone conversations involving Princess Diana. This past Spring, an active intelligence asset of the United States government permitted Posner to listen to one of several surveillance tape recordings of Princess Diana in the possession of NSA.

Although Senator Mitchell requested that the DoD ensure all responsive records had been located — particularly in light of Posner's statements — upon information and belief; either no such efforts were ever undertaken by the DoD or its components to ensure a complete search had been performed, or information was intentionally withheld. In fact, by letter dated October 13, 1999, Tyrer confirmed that the records he reviewed were retrieved solely through an electronic search of NSA and DIA databases. Upon information and belief; certain record systems are excluded when only electronic searches are conducted.

Senator Mitchell also wrote to George Tenet, CIA Director, by letters dated September 2 and 15, 1999, and requested that the CIA initiate a formal inquiry into whether United States intelligence agencies possess information concerning the tragedy. The second letter specifically informed the CIA of Posner's information. The request was denied, although DCI Tenet invited Senator Mitchell to meet with the CIA's General Counsel Robert McNamara.
US Imported $6 Billion From Russia As It Forces Others To Quit Doing Business With Moscow
After Russia launched its counteroffensive against NATO aggression in Europe, the US-led political West vowed to “isolate“ Russia and “cripple“ its economy. Yet, the Eurasian giant didn’t only weather the storm largely unscathed, but it even managed to profit while the sanctions boomerang started ravaging Western economies. Russia has been able to maintain its economic strength, powering through the sanctions and even establishing alternative payment systems with major global powers such as China and India. And yet, the US, as the leading Western power, the one which pushed its European and other vassals into an economic war with Russia, with devastating consequences for the EU and other economies, continues doing business with Moscow.
The US is currently importing over $1 billion per month in Russian wood, metals, food and other goods. More than 3,600 ships from Russia have arrived at American ports since February 24, according to statistics cited by the Associated Press. While that is nearly 50% less in shipments over the same period compared to last year, it still amounts to over $6 billion in imports. The sheer quantity of goods and commodities from Russia entering the US suggests the troubled Biden administration is directly involved in a failure to “isolate“ the Russian economy, as the US incumbent president promised in late February. Due to so-called “wind down“ periods that allow companies to complete previous deals, many of the products and commodities continue to be imported into the US long after the Biden administration imposed sanctions on those goods, including Russian oil and natural gas.
However, there are exceptions to this as well. The import of other crucial Russian commodities, such as fertilizer, came at the request of the Biden administration itself, which has urged US companies to make up for shortages. Although the US has ordered the seizure of luxury yachts owned by rich Russians with supposed “ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin“, the AP found that many companies from the US and EU are still importing millions of dollars in metal from a Russian firm that makes parts for VKS (Russian Aerospace Forces) fighter jets, highlighting yet another hypocritical discrepancy in Western sanctions campaign. And yet, Washington is trying to exert diplomatic pressure on others to stop doing business with Moscow. While many have followed the US diktat, others are not only keeping their economic ties with Russia, but are even expanding them. For instance, Turkey, a NATO member since 1952, has doubled its oil imports from Russia this year.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams and Officials Urge Credit Card Companies to Create Weapon Code for Gun and Ammunition Purchases
The mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, along with other elected officials and state pension fund trustees, have requested that major credit card companies implement a weapon code for the purchase of firearms and ammunition.
“New York City Mayor Eric Adams, New York City Comptroller Brad Lander, trustees of the New York City Employees’ Retirement System, Teachers’ Retirement System and Board of Education Retirement System, and elected leaders today called on American Express, MasterCard and Visa, three of the world’s largest credit card companies, to support a proposal to establish a merchant category code (MCC) for gun and ammunition stores,” according to the news release.
Officials in New York City and the state of New York have asked American Express, MasterCard, and Visa to make a four-digit merchant category code (MCC) like the ones used for other retail categories to better identify and report suspicious behavior, such as large purchases of firearms.
“The creation of a new code would help financial institutions detect and report suspicious activity, such as unusually large purchases of firearms or ammunition, or purchases from multiple stores, that may be used for criminal purposes,” it claimed.

On or about April 13, 1998, Fleer requested that Macnamara send the $25,000 via wire transfer to the account of Garlandand Loman, Inc., a New Mexico company with an affiliate in Juarez, Mexico, at the Western Bank, 201 North Church Street, Las Cruces, New Mexico 88001. Fleer explained in a subsequent call to Macnamara that the Western Bank would contact Williamson when the funds were received. The FBI directed Al Fayed's representatives to wire the money from a bank in the District of Columbia so that criminal jurisdiction would lie with the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. Macnamara was told that at the very least the transmittal and receipt of the funds would constitute wire fraud, even if nothing else came of the intended transaction to sell the documents.

The Department of Justice has appealed a judge's decision to appoint a special master to review documents the FBI took from Donald Trump's Florida estate.
The DOJ filed the appeal to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, per Politico, arguing that temporarily halting its probe into the former president's handling of classified materials would cause "irreparable harm" to the public and the government.
On Monday, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, granted the former president's request to have a third party evaluate the materials the bureau took from his home during its raid.
Cannon declined to return the documents to Trump but empowered the special master to "review the seized property, manage assertions of privilege and make recommendations thereon, and evaluate claims for return of property."
The decision drew scrutiny from prominent Trump opponents who pointed to her appointment by Trump as a potential concern.
"Her actions make the question 'Who appointed the judge?' a sadly relevant one in evaluating a judicial opinion," wrote former lead prosecutor for the Mueller investigation Andrew Weissmann.
