When a hurricane parked over an island in the Atlantic for a day that was occupied by a Chinese shipping company. Lots of chin scratching that day. Did we ever get an accurate number of how many people disappeared?
I did a gig as a pipefitter for a while installing sprinkler systems in warehouses. There was a few times where we were replacing blocked piping and discovered a black goo draining from the pipes which had a distinctive oily feel and smell. That's when I suspected that heat (it was very warm at the roof level), water, pressure, darkness, time and perhaps iron and bacteria had a role in the creation of petroleum.
